  1. Adolin is like David Beckham if he was Prince of England. A metrosexual. I felt it was otherwise. He continues to be himself and doesn't descend into Chaos. When people see a true leader they look for stability, continuity and assurance. I believe Adolin provides all. Despite dressing like a Fop, his bravery was never under question. His duelling skills are just next to Blackthorn and he has never shirked from facing a dangerous. He'd definitely be a vote winner in modern politics.
  2. I reckon the authority was Stormfather. The Spren was surprised to hear of a new bondsmith and that stormfather had been bonded.
  3. Please God no. Navani is the most interesting non Radiant character and I'd like to keep it that way. The world was made of people other than Radiants and I like Navani as she is. She's a perfect counter to Dalinar and as a whole a kick-chull duo. Please don't make Navani a Radiant. Oh and This post has been reported for attempting to skirt the rules gets changed to Chull? Lovely! Ah ffs, I was just posting my appreciation to the rule!
  4. Odium is known for splintering. If he collects honorblades, it'll more likely to make sure no person or order gets all (and potentially challenge him). He'll scatter it all.
  5. Not really. At this point, Moash hates himself more than anyone else. Similar to Teft but for different reasons. I would not be surprised if he was the one to kill Odium as a redemption suicides sacrifice.
  6. Kaladin - Gallant Shallan - Bonkers Szeth - Idiot Tarvangian - Despicable Moash - Traitor Odium - Godfather Vin - Rebel Kelsier - Mastermind
  7. That Tarvangian sent Assasin in White is still not public knowledge, right? My list: 1. Adolin killed Sadeas - the most relatable to other rulers and possibly to gain edge over Kholin family in negotiations. 2. Nalan and Skybreakers joined Odium - this would be the most disheartening as an already powerful enemy just got a strong Ally. Many would think of giving up and running. 3. Renarin bonding corrupted Spren - this causes confusing and is a cloud over all Radiants. Whom to trust? Which Spren is corrupted? Very damaging in an alliance.
  8. Maybe it's time we saw more of Cultivation. After Honor and Odium, she's really merged into the woodwork.
  9. So how do you think Book 4 will progress. It is supposed to be based on Eshonai so I'll make the following predictions on how the story will progress: Back Story: - History of Parshmen and their gods - Gavilar's intentions and his relationship with Sons of Honor - Information on Desolation Current Story: - Shallan and Sja-Anat - Dalinar and alliance building - Queen Jasnah! - Kaladin is a bit difficult as he found his parents and doesn't have any objectives. Maybe on his inability to progress as a Radiant. - Venli discovers about herself. Interludes: - Tarvangian's plan. - Heralds backstory - Moash What do you all think?
  10. Honestly, I'll pretend I didn't read that. I understand biology and my point was purely on value add of the child to the story, not on child making concepts. Contraceptives in some form or other have existed even in ancient times and unless Roshar was an exception, I'd like to think she has some form of control. And 2 books later, we still know bare minimum about her past. The currently personality split of Shallan is annoying enough that I don't want to add Mother to it. In fact I'd gladly trade off less Shallan (unless it's history) if it means more Jasnah or Renarin. or Szeth.
  11. I don't get this obsession about Shallan's kid. We haven't even explored Shallan fully, far less having a kid. And they are just starting to courting seriously. Having a kid within a year would be seriously weird. I'm looking for Jasnah's reign. She is an interesting character and needs more screen time. And more details on history, original radiants and heralds.
  12. Young Dalinar by a mile. Kaladin next as he was the least annoying. Shallan was near bonkers with her personas and Old Dalinar was way too flaky (with self doubts) to extent that it felt uncharacteristic of Blackthorn. Moash was even worse as I did not understand his slide into dark side.
  13. Sheadsmar is not restricted to Roshar. It's common across Cosmere and there are other ways to access it than Elsecalling. That makes Elsecalling one of the common investiture across planets. Useful for world hopping but not mandatory. It's probably predates Shards. Do we know Breaths can't be gotten from other world citizens?
  14. It'd be a waste to give Szeth nimi only to take it away. And though it's theoretically possible to bond multiple sprens, owning multiple shardblades seem excessive. And nimi is far more powerful than any other Spren shardblade, though difficult to use. Im curious if nimi will be the one to kill Odium.
  15. Kaladin sees the painting of Dalinar surrounded by 9 shadows. Incidentally there is Dalinar plus 9 orders of Radiants. There are 9 unmade too. Could be either. Because Radiants haven't formalized into orders, they appear as shadows. 10 heralds minus one killed make 9 too. 9 and 10 seem to be common in Cosmere.
  16. 1. Moash. The worst kind of traitor, trying to kill the man who saved him from slavery and death. Loathsome. 2. Taravangian - Agree to throw the entire world to die just so he can save his own kingdom. Despicable.
  17. I somehow think Hoid would be the real hero of cosmere. He kinds pulls strings in individual planets whilst working against Odium at far grander scale. At the end when it all comes together, it'd be Hoid leading the coalition with Kelsier, Dalinar etc maybe as his Generals.
  18. That's awesome. Thanks.
  19. Thanks. This makes sense. Is there any reference to this in any of the books? I need to read those again.
  20. With Kaladin, Dalinar, Lift etc it was the spren that chose them. They didn't have a choice on the order. For Hoid, he was the one who went after the spren in the end. He knew it was there, knew he was there to set it free, knew it was a lightweaver spren (comment on truths) and went banging the wall to set it free. And, why would Hoid want to seek and bond a spren in first place, when he can already lightweave without it? I don't believe Hoid really needed a spren or a nahel bond. He was just saving the spren from death...for a reason maybe the next book will tell.
  21. We've not seen full power Odium yet. He is in Greater Roshar system, but not on planet Roshar. Just projection of his power and abilities splintered 3 shards. It still was enough to send Cultivation into hiding. All Dalinar won was against one such projection and potentially Odium was overconfident and made a strategic withdrawal in last book as he was probably not ready for a duel with an ascended Dalinar yet.
  22. Hoid does not fit the same rules as other spren-bound because.... 1) He does not use stormlight to weave. Shallan could not find the source during his storytelling. 2) There is an Ars Arcanum quote that Hoid felt that the Roshan lightweaving is similar to but not exactly the same as the original Yolen version. The Yolen version is not spren bound, so the Rosharan lightweaving is probably a diluted and limited version of Hoid's Yolen version. 3) Lightweaving is just one of many things Hoid is capable of. For example, he is a worldhopper, Feruchemist too..which are not usually associated with Sprens and so not bound by same rules.
  23. I still don't think Hoid is restricted to a Rosharan Order. He was pre shards with Adolonisium so would be expected to be beyond all that. He does emotional allomancy, his discussions with Jasnah at end of book 1 may indicate he's familiar with elsecalling too. And I forget earlier books, did Shallan ever utter the first ideal? I recall Kaladin doing it, but never Shallan. He's just protecting the screen is my take.
  24. He is an ascendant, right? Why would he want to become a Fused?
  25. I think we need to consider Hoid as part of Cosmere and not just Roshar/Stormlight. I tend to believe he's beyond spren and orders. And did he really bond the spren at the end? I didn't think so. I thought he was saving it for someone else. Maybe Navani or Rock.
