  1. Randuir. The only thing village!HH could have done on N1 is roleblock a player on Nalthis. If nobody else was there, he probably didn't do anything.
  2. Fascinating. Randuir, what actually happened last night?
  3. I think it was because one of the tags on the signup thread indicated the possibility of conversions. Here is our (very spread out) vote tally. Drought(1): Stink, Orlok Fifth Scholar(1): Drought, Coop772 Orlok(1): Herowannabe Steeldancer(1): Orlok livinglegend(1): Eternum Drake(1): Madagascar Elenion(0): Steeldancer, Coop772 Eternum(1): Devotary of Spontaneity I would like to nominate Eternum for the lynch. Can you explain why this being a blackout game guarantees a random lynch? It's true that we don't know how many eliminators there are, but that's the case in every other game as well. Also @Ecthelion III and @The_Lady_of_Chaos have not yet posted. Finally, I would like to order some cremling chouta from @Herowannabe.
  4. I can confirm that world docs are not anonymous. @Seonid, can Dominion redirect actions that target a Shard is containment? If not, then Randuir was lying about trying to steal Investiture last night.
  5. It is still possible that Randuir could, as he claims, be a Vessel who attempted to siphon Investiture last night. That wouldn't rule out him being Ruin or Ambition. Also, Preservation cannot self-invest as they are a Shard. Additionally, Mage has backed up Straw's claim that Mage was Invested by Preservation. @TheYoungPyromancer, would you confirm whether or not Randuir is on Scadrial with you?
  6. Autonomy could not have gotten a charge of their own Investiture until day 2, unless it turns out that since the game began on the night turn, Investiture gained this way is acquired at the beginning of the night turn. @Seonid, is this the case? Personally, if I received the Mistborn role I wouldn't use it. Killing players who target Shards seems like a good way of ending up with dead villagers, especially as neither Hoid nor Khrissala would attempt to convert a confirmed Shard. An elim!Mistborn can coordinate with their team to avoid friendly fire, but a village Mistborn is just attacking randomly and hoping for the best. Why would lying about being a Vessel make you think it's more likely that Randuir is a villager? While a Vessel cannot gain another Shard, having a charge of Investiture that would let him protect a player, give a player an extra action, or cancel a player's vote could be useful, especially if Randuir trusts certain players enough to be willing to pass his Shard to them. Time for theorizing what Shard Randuir holds! I hesitate to post this, but since nothing is stopping Vessel!Randuir from passing his Shard today, I don't believe this is an unnecessary burden. Randuir claims here that he holds a Shard other than Cultivation. Since Straw claimed Preservation and Mage backed him up, it's unlikely that Randuir holds Preservation, and unless Pyromancer is lying here: Randuir cannot hold Survival or Autonomy. That leaves Ruin, Odium, Dominion, and Ambition. If Randuir is Ambition, it would mean that he wasted his vote by voting for both Straw and Pyromancer. Since Odium killed Steel, Randuir cannot be Odium unless he was lying about being redirected to Pyromancer. And of course if Randuir is Dominion, then Dominion almost certainly did not redirect him. That leaves Ruin as the most likely Shard for Randuir to hold if he's being honest. From most to least likely Shards, I would rank them as Ruin>Dominion=Ambition>Cultivation=Odium>Autonomy>Survival. This analysis made a lot of assumptions. Notably, it assumes that Randuir wasn't lying about being a Shard as this would be easy to disprove. I welcome @randuir to explain where I went wrong.
  7. I think this means that a Vessel can take two actions during the day and one at night, or one during the day and two at night.
  8. Vessels get three actions per cycle. I'm pretty sure Autonomy could have used two actions on D2 to worldhop to Scadrial and create an Aspect, then used a Shardic action last night to roleblock Pyromancer. However, Autonomy wouldn't have had enough actions to roleblock you and scan HH. I'm also not sure what makes you believe that Autonomy is necessarily village, nor what would make Autonomy sure that HH was village.
  9. The only reason Hero's win condition would conflict with the village win condition is if he is evil, and he isn't likely to admit that.
  10. Its the Palanaeum. Maybe all players get to post a Death Rattle when they die? I'm going to make one just in case.
  11. Less than an hour left! Despite the murders, Kharbranth was experiencing an influx of people. No doubt some of them were refugees, survivors of the civil war in Jah Keved. Akhanakah empathized with such people. Much of her order was made up of refugees. Akhanakah herself had joined the devotary during the Alethi Unification War after her village had been destroyed by the fighting The other devotaries did not look favorably upon an order that rejected Callings and the nature of the Tranquiline Halls, but really. It is not right for humans to attempt to see the future, and surely there is no act of fortunetelling more blasphemous than attempting to predict the will of the Almighty. Rather, Akhanakah and her fellow ardents acted as storytellers and historians, spreading the Wisdom of the Heralds and helping the desperate survive day to day.
  12. Endowment can only use her ability once per cycle at night, so if multiple people die in between successive night turns, they will be able to share any information they have with each other. Having a villager be Returned will also help us determine Endowment's alignment, although an elim!Endowment could still decide to return a villager so such an action would not provide conclusive proof. I also assumed that after a cycle or two a player could no longer be Returned, and thus wanted to bring as many players back to life as quickly as possible. The Investiture that targets other players comes from Autonomy(either, scan), Cultivation(either,PM creation), Devotion(day, vote cancellation), Endowment(day, extra night action), Honor(night, protect), Odium(night, attack), and Ruin(night, roleblock). None of these are necessarily anti-village, though all could be if used incorrectly. I have not yet used my charge of Investiture. It is also possible, though perhaps less likely, that you targeted a Lightweaver,(Cultivation's Investment role) who can redirect any actions that target them to a different player.
  13. Almost all of the Investiture actions that target other players require someone to be on the same world as their target. On night 0, I took a charge of Investiture, then went to Roshar day 1 to trade it in, and then since no one else was on Roshar with me I went to Taldain yesterday to be sure that I wouldn't waste my only charge of Investiture. Endowment, if you are a villager, please Return Steeldancer/today's lynch victim if they are 17th Shard tonight. @Seonid, is there a time limit for Endowment's Shardic ability? How long can a player be dead before they can no longer be Returned?
  14. Let's assume for the moment that you are Survival. Why do you deserve to Survive? You ask for people to get in contact with you, then admit that you will betray anyone who does so. You claim that you will listen to the village, but since Survival cannot be lynched, we would never be able to kill you. @TheYoungPyromancer, you don't have to pledge yourself to any one side, indeed you should not help one side exclusively, but if you are going to hinder every other faction, you stray into serial killer territory.
  15. On page 5 of the signup thread, Seonid said that I assume this means that not all the Shards have win conditions that trigger the end of the game. I can try. I may be misinterpreting these people, so everything outside of the quote boxes is not necessarily what they meant. Judging from people's posts this cycle, they are 1. From MonsterMetroid:You claimed you weren't Survival early, only claiming when you thought you would be lynched. 2.From Hemalurgic Headshot:You can use Hoid's Investiture to fake being Survival. 3.From Randuir:Survival wouldn't have gone for Odium 4.From me:If you wanted to create PMs as you've claimed repeatedly, Autonomy and Odium would not be good Shards to go for. 5.From Eternum: Sart's swing to Straw looks like an attempt to save a teammate.
  16. If Pyromancer is Survival, he probably won't die because he would be able to Invest in himself and gain an extra life.
  17. This late in the cycle, I'm assuming that if anyone was on Braize with Ruin, or if anyone scanned Pyromancer last night, they're not going to say anything. This whole game, even back to the first iteration of Night 0, Pyromancer has been asking people to PM him even when it wasn't possible for anybody but Hoid to do so. On day 1 before he claimed Survival, he claimed that Later, after he claimed Survival, he said that he instead went for Autonomy and Odium, neither of which can be proved. Both of those Shards had been discussed as possible targets for theft. Fifth Scholar in particular suggested that villagers steal from those two Shards. It seems that if creating PMs was truly Pyromancer's goal, he would have gone for neglected Shards such as Dominion, Devotion, or Endowment, which had been labelled as Shards to not go for, or go for Cultivation herself. Twice failing to get Investiture when only 1/4 of the Shards were released is suspiciously bad luck, compounded by his claimed second double failure last night. For the same reasons, I think that it is unlikely that Pyromancer is Hoid. A Hoid!Pyromancer could have created a PM last night and claimed he stole from Cultivation, or worldhopped to Roshar on Day 1 for a slower, but safer, way of faking the acquisition of Cultivation's Investiture. Is there anyone on Roshar willing to claim that Pyromancer is there? It's unlikely because last night he claimed to still be on Silverlight, but if so, I will retract this last claim. Other possibilities are that he is Khriss and doesn't have any Investiture because he converted or went for released Shards, or that he has fulfilled his need to talk to someone by being converted. Even if Pyromancer is an extraordinarily unlucky Survival, it would appear that he is more inclined to help the elim teams and independent Shards than the village. So far, his major offer to the village if we let him live is that he'll launder our Shards, particularly Ruin and Odium. If he kept them as Survival, he would no longer have any need to listen to the village or give the Shards back as Survival cannot be killed by the lynch. @TheYoungPyromancer, why shouldn't we lynch you even if you are Survival? I hear that your internet is having issues, but if you get it working before the end of the cycle, I am willing to listen and respond to your defense. New vote tally Pyromancer(6): MonsterMetroid, Hemalurgic Headshot, Straw, Randuir, Fifth Scholar, Devotary of Spontaneity Straw(3): _Stick_, Eternum, Drake Hemalurgic Headshot(2): Elbereth, Arinian Arinian(1): YoungBard Seonid has PAFO'd this question before. It's not something I want to have happen, though.
  18. There can only be at most 3 PMs at this point, if I'm reading the rules correctly. Hoid can have one from his starting Investiture, and the at most two people who went for Cultivation on Night 0 can have one. I haven't received any PMs either. @Seonid, would self-targeting abilities trigger the retaliatory attack? If they do, Preservation will be an even better Shard for an elim team. Invincibility for one player at night plus the ability to attack any player who tries to roleblock scan, message, redirect, protect, attack, or self-target a specific player would be a dangerous combination. Both Hoid's and Khriss's sudden death win conditions depend on them getting all the Shards, excluding Survival in Khriss's case. They would then have to spend ten actions fusing or investing them, unless Khriss manages to get a Fused Shard. Since Shattered Shards can neither be fused nor Invested, Vessels cannot randomly receive Shards, and Ruin can divest Shards by destroying their planet, the chances of either Hoid or Khriss achieving their sudden death win conditions is low enough that I don't think it's worthwhile to purposefully leave a Shard in containment where it can be easily taken by either elim team. I would agree with you here. Blowing up Braize looks like an attempt for Ruin to stay alive long enough to destroy up all the planets. Since players on the same world as Ruin can't kill him at night as they get roleblocked when he blows up the planet, removing a source of kills that can target anyone makes a self-aligned Ruin much harder to stop. If Ruin destroys any more planets, especially Taldain, which allows targeting of any player, or Roshar, the only reliable source of Odium's Investiture, it would be safe to assume that Ruin is not village-aligned.
  19. Autonomy requires an aspect to take her Shardic actions, so her Vessel might just want to have the ability to take these actions and is not necessarily going for an independent win condition. Additionally, we can lynch her aspects, potentially gaining a charge of Autonomy's Investiture. @Seonid, would lynching an aspect of Autonomy give a charge of Autonomy's Investiture to the players who voted for it? Since Ruin can also destroy aspects by blowing up the planet, Autonomy is probably not our current biggest threat. Announcing that you might turn over the identities of Vessels to Odium isn't likely to make Vessels want to confide in you . While it is highly probable that Pyromancer is Survival, I would like to have more certainty before we start passing Shards to him or using him as a hub for information. If there's a hemalurgist out there, they can try to steal Investiture from him tonight. If Pyromancer is Survival, he wouldn't lose anything and the hemalurgist would gain a chargee of Survival's Investiture. This would require 1. There exists a hemalurgist, 2. Said hemalurgist doesn't get killed or roleblocked, 3. The hemalurgist is willing to target Pyromancer, and 4. The hemalurgist will tell the truth about Pyromancer's role. None of these are certain, but extra confirmation would be nice.
  20. I think it's unlikely that you would claim Survival if you didn't have it, considering the possibility of you losing tonight if Odium targets you. Now that Orlok has retracted his vote, you are no longer in danger of being lynched. I won't vote for you, but I won't vote for no lynch either.
  21. You're not dying yet, Pyromancer. A tied vote results in no deaths. Fifth Scholar(2): Fifth Scholar, Hemalurgic Headshot TheYoungPyromancer(3): Steeldancer, Orlok, Straw Hemalurgic Headshot(1): Elbereth livinglegend(1): Megasif Straw(1): Sart Arinian(2): MonsterMetroid, TheYoungPyromancer No Lynch(2): Arinian, Jondesu Long games can go on for a while, so I'm fine with letting Fifth Scholar live to see if his obligations clear up in a couple of cycles. I don't believe that there is an inactivity filter in this game. Again? Also, you said that your win condition as Survival last game was to survive while being Survival's Vessel. If Odium attacks you and you are Survival, your Shard will be shattered, as Monster says. Did you ask Seonid whether a shattered Shard can still meet their individual win condition? EDIT: Missed Pyromancer switching their vote. The vote tally is now updated.
  22. That was part of the reason, as was the ambivalent opinion on a Day 1 lynch and his echoing of other players's suspicions. But mostly, I wanted him to respond. Since he has now done so, and responded in a way that looks more like a frustrated villager than a deceptive eliminator, Hemalurgic Headshot. The vote is still tied 3-3 between Pyromancer and No Lynch, which means that nobody will die if no votes are changed.
  23. More specifically, the current vote count is: Hemalurgic Headshot(2): Devotary, Fifth Scholar TheYoungPyromancer(2): Steeldancer, Orlok No Lynch(2): Arinian, Jondesu Magestar(1): Straw livinglegend(1): Megasif Devotary(1): Elbereth Sart(1): Droughbringer Droughbringer(1): YoungBard Currently, nobody will be lynched this cycle. 11 players have yet to vote, so that may change in the next six and a half hours.
  24. If you don't have a charge of Investiture now, then you won't be able to create a PM until day 3, or night 2 if you happen to get Cultivation. Since you are now claiming that you do have a charge of Investiture, apparently I misinterpreted your earlier post. Odium cannot be eliminated. If his Vessel dies, the Shard passes to another player. Unlike all the other Shards, he can't even be Shattered. Hoid and Khriss are enemies in that they can't win together. Both of them have win conditions of having their faction outnumber all other living players. We're almost 5/6 of the way through the cycle, and there are only five votes. For right now, I'm going to drop a vote on Hemalurgic Headshot. He expressed suspicion of TheYoungPyromancer for: Later in that same post, he was wary of Fifth Scholar for reasons that he later claimed were: He has also expressed uncertainty about lynching today due to the possibility of hitting a Vessel, before (incorrectly) claiming that Odium and Ruin are the only sources of night kills for the village. While none of this is necessarily indicative of an eliminator rather than a villager pressed for time, I would like @Hemalurgic Headshot to respond.
