The old man turned around, seeming puzzled. “Are you burning bronze?” He noticed his pile of dust with approximately one pinch missing. “Are you burning my bronze?” He gave a slight chuckle. “If you’re planning on stealing allomantic metals from a metallurgist, might want to choose one who isn’t a seeker. It’s all right, I have bronze to spare.” The man noticed what Lilliana was holding. “Rust and Ruin is that pure aluminum? You have enough there to buy as much bronze as you’d like! Why steal a pinch when you have enough to buy enough bronze to last years?”

I follow after her. “Pretty convenient that there just happens to be a metallurgy shop right here, huh?”

“Nothing about this makes sense. But I’ll go along with it. Don’t want the immersion of the dream to break. Let’s find somewhere to sell that. “

“Wait. Not to bring up the same argument, but none of us should be able to read that. Scadrial has their own language. Brandon ‘translates’ it to English when he writes. If this really is Scadrial, how is that written in English?”

“Well on that we agree. While I don’t think this is real, it’s the most vivid dream I’ve ever had. And I intend to take advantage of it. I’m gonna go find Wax.”

“You mean assuming that the laws of literal physics are valid? Assuming that I wasn’t magically transported to a different dimension? Those seem like perfectly valid assumptions to me. Occam’s Razor, ‘I hit my head too hard in the crash and I’m dreaming’ makes much more sense than ‘maaaaagic’. Frankly, I’m surprised none of you are making the same conclusion. Let’s say you are a real person. What proof have I offered that I’m real? How do you know that you aren’t dreaming, and that I’m an aspect of your imagination?”

“Ow. Again. C’mon I was just in a car crash, give a guy a break. No matter how many times you elbow me, I’m not gonna believe you’re real. I am mildly surprised I haven’t woken up yet...” “I believe I was busy falling from the sky, so no, no I didn’t.” “Why? I mean, this is all a dream, so it really doesn’t matter, but it seems like most of those things work themselves out in the books. And I doubt he’d believe you about Adonalsium and Hoid.”

"Ya know, the non-cosmere novella by Brandon. Legion. About the guy who stores information in aspects of his subconscious?" "Well, considering how we're all stuck inside my head, I expect that would be rather difficult."

"Maybe this is a Stephen Leeds situation, and I glanced over all that info at some point and then forgot it. As for the boxings, do we know what the value of one boxing is? Like, in relation to an actual dollar? Maybe someone on the Shard has figured it out." I pull out my phone. "Ah, no connection. Figures." "Heh, I get it. 'Is this the real life, is it just fantasy...'"

oh gosh not this discussion agaon Claiming elim is 100% directly contrasting with the village wincon, so I do not think fun outweighs it in this case.
-
This is true to a degree, but that's not what I meant anyway. I said, "All it does is add confusion and benefit the Elims", meaning "1. All it does is add confusion, and 2. It benefits the elims." 2 separate things, not that it benefits the Elims by being chaotic, but that claiming Elim does both independently. My point was that there's just no reason for a villager to do it.
-
/shrug I will almost always vote for someone if they claim Elim. Because there’s really no reason for a Vil to do that. All it does is add confusion and benefit the Elims.

“Hmm. how much do you think that’ll sell for? Do we even know what Era 2 Scadrial’s currency is? Wait, how did you know that aluminum was valuable? Are you cosmere-aware? Oh wait duh, I am, so of course a manifestation of my subconscious would be too.”

“Prove it.” “......ow. Doesn’t prove anything though. Maybe I just have a violent subconscious.” I look around. “This is one heck of a dream. I’ve heard lucid dreaming can be crazy, but this is on a whole different level.” “Why not. Might as well play along until I wake up. How much do you got?”

I blink. “whaaaaaa...” Suddenly it all makes sense. “Oh! I remember what I was doing! Th-the dog and I hit my head and ohhhhhh of course. This is all some sort of hallucination. Some weird trauma induced lucid dream.” I relax, comforted knowing that I had figured out what was going on. I point to each of the other people around me. “You are all figments of my imagination.”

“Scadrial...like Scadrial Scadrial? From Mistborn?” I chuckle, “Dude, I don’t know what you’re on, but Scadrial doesn’t exist.” I take another look at my surroundings. “I don’t know what I’m on either for that matter. How’d I end up in a dumpster???”

Ugghhh, AP calc is the worst. I was finally starting to understand derivatives and now we completely abandon them to learn about integrals? What the heck is an integral?!? I need a break... I set my homework aside and walk towards the front door, grabbing my keys off the table. “Bye mom,” I yell, “I’m gonna go get a drink at Circle K.” ”Okay! Drive safe!” ”I will.” I head outside, get in my car, and head to the gas station. On my way there, I notice a lady walking her dogs. I arrive at the station, get my drink (50% Lemon Lime Mountain Dew, 35% Sprite, and 15% lemonade), and leave. As I’m driving, I see the same lady from earlier, except her dogs seem to be giving her a bit of a hard time. Out of nowhere, one rips its leash away from her and runs out into the street, directly in front of me. I stomp on my brakes as hard as I can, and my forehead slams directly into my steering wheel. Everything goes black. *** Suddenly I’m falling through the air. What the... I don’t even have time to process the weirdness of that situation before I’m thrust into a weirder one. Hitting the ground. Owwwwwwww... I look around, and I seem to have been lucky enough to land in a...trash bin? I take a sniff. I gag. Maybe not as lucky as I thought...What am I doing in a dumpster? Agh my head is killing me. I remember working on my calc... this is so weird. I stand up slowly, holding a hand to my aching head, and suddenly realize I’m not alone. I’m in some sort of alley, and there are other people here too. “Erm, Hi?” I grimace. It hurts to talk.

I really have no idea for who to vote this cycle. (also I second the motion that we say 'crewmates' and 'imposters', and I vote we say 'eject' for the exe/shrek/vote kill.) I kinda think we should leave it up to the gods of luck and chance, because it seems like we're just going back and forth. Although that would probably benefit the elims, since there's less of them. I think the Elim team is probably laying low rn, most of the active people seem relatively village to me.

[Theory] Taln Wasn't the Herald Who Broke; It Was Chanarach
dannnex replied to teknopathetic's topic in Cosmere Discussion
? Taln became completely lucid for a moment when Dalinar opened it at the battle of Thaylen field. I’d say that’s an effect. -
*Kal *Stormlight And we do know that it was pattern, because Shallan changes the shape of the blade. Only living blades can do that.

[Theory] Taln Wasn't the Herald Who Broke; It Was Chanarach
dannnex replied to teknopathetic's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Nale breaks down in front of Lift in Edgedancer right after she swore her oath. And while Ash usually seems pretty sane already, she seemed more so when Dalinar opened Honor’s perpendicularity. More humble. Less broken. I think it’s safe to say that all Heralds are affected by the Radiant/Perpendicularity effect.
