it all boils down to the death rattles

someone pointed out to me that all rattles that are in the first person, aren't adressing the silent gatherers directly, and aren't explicitly about something we already know, refer to kaladin.

Quote

Above the final void I hang, friends behind, friends before. The feast I must drink clings to their faces, and the words I must speak spark in my mind. The old oaths will be spoken anew.

Kaladin before the battle of the tower, right before he swears the 2nd ideal

Quote

In the storm I awaken, falling, spinning, grieving.

Kal swearing the 4th ideal at the end of RoW.

Quote

They come from the pit, two dead men, a heart in their hands, and I know that I have seen true glory.

This one's a little different, as it's still a first-person perspective, but not kals perspective. It does still apply to him though, it's him coming out of the caverns with the gemheart of a casmfiend.

Quote

All is withdrawn for me. I stand against the one who saved my life. I protect the one who killed my promises. I raise my hand. The storm responds. 

Kal swearing the third ideal, choosing to protect elhokar. 

so what about the first-person rattles that we don't have meaning for yet?

I hold the suckling child in my hands, a knife at his throat, and know that all who live wish me to let the blade slip. Spill its blood upon the ground, over my hands, and with it gain us further breath to draw.

if these apply to kaladin like all the other first person rattles

then they must be talking about Kal having to kill oroden
as odium has chosen him as his champion.

there's even this other first person rattle that's a little more questionable but could also apply:

Quote

I'm cold. Mother, I'm cold. Mother? Why can I still hear the rain? Will it stop?

Kal turning to Hesina in despair after killing his own brother.

Mmm yeah okay I see where you're going with this.

I guess my hesitance is like, isn't Dalinar the one that's going to fight Odium's champion?
