"Heh, saw an opportunity to show off in front of two girls, I see?" Araha smirked, "Well, it is an impressive display." She shrugged, then winked at him. She really liked flirting with boys back in her home village, they always reacted humorously.

Araha turned to her side, eyes wide in surprise at Damaya's confidence. She was surprised, but also happy with how confident Damaya sounded. She caught on that Damaya wanted to change the topic, and Araha assisted her. "Oh, I know this!" She said, "steelpushing is one of those Metallic Arts I told y'about earlier, it pretty much allows you to push on any metals with an invisible force, so a bit like a reverse of Gravitation, I guess. Allomancers ingest metal so they can use their Investiture, like how I use stormlight."

Araha's expression turned from excitement to concern, she really didn't mean to distress Damaya this much, "I'm... I'm sorry too," she wasn't sure what to say. She wanted to give her a hug, but she wasn't sure they were close enough for that yet. She reached up to pat Damaya's shoulder, then hesitated, she really didn't want to distress her more, still this was the only way she knew how to comfort so she went ahead and patted Damaya's shoulder. "Even later, you don't need to show me. Just take your time, alright?" At Damaya's addressing to the man, she turned too. She hadn't seen allomancy yet, and was curious to see how it would work and look. - The steelpushing was indeed impressive, but not as impressive as my own show, she though smugly. At the question, directed to Damaya, Araha immediately tensed up and stood forward, "uh, it was me, I'm the radiant, I guess." She blurted out, and it was technically true, or well, actually true.

Araha grinned when Damaya clapped for her 'show' as she walked toward her. Then she asked her if she could show her how to do what she just did and Araha's eagerness only grew. "Of course!" She held Damaya's hands in excitement, then let them go. "Oh, I'm so sorry," she chuckled, "I'm just excited." She walked back to the center of the training grounds. What should she teach Damaya? The basic kata? Some stances? She then thought of something, jogging over to the table with the spheres, she picked up one that was infused and walked back to her close-acquaintance, she made sure to stand back far enough so that when she held it out, hopefully Damaya wouldn't flinch. She held the sphere up, "Do you want to try it with stormlight?" She asked, then quickly added: "now, I know, I know y'don't want to, but really, it's not all bad." She tapped into one of Master Soren's teachings: Tools, not weapons, something to use to accomplish a goal, and that goal will not always be to cause harm. "Try to see stormlight as a tool not a weapon, the same way your hands are. Hands are interesting since they can be used to mend or to break, the same can be said for all tools. It's the wielder that chooses how to use the tools provided them!" Araha said, a small smile on her face, training with Master Soren were good times. Araha looked up, instinctively knowing where Ran was, she was in her woman form, and giving Araha a thumbs up, to which Araha replied with a grin. "I can understand if you don't want to though," Araha nodded, "Master Soren taught me the basics even before I knew how to breathe stormlight in, so I don't see why I can't do the same here." She concluded with a smile. A newcomer exited out to the training grounds, and Ran quickly shrunk into the form of leaves when she saw him, then slowly grew back to her woman form, seeing as this was the man who helped carry Araha to her room. Araha saw him, and he seemed unthreatening enough that it didn't raise any flags in her mind. She nodded at him. "Helloooo," though his presence might be a problem for Damaya, it was likely she definitely wouldn't take the stormlight now, but that was okay.

Araha was slightly disappointed that her offer was declined, but that was alright, maybe some other time. "Alright, sure." Araha nodded, moving over to where the spheres were when she heard a voice as she picked up one of the spheres, it was a vibration more than anything, like words being formed from a buzzing sound. She didn't have to wonder long as the voice introduced himself as Corundum. She looked down, and indeed saw the geometric pattern on the ground near her, though with the way he was speaking, he might've wanted discretion, so she gave it to him and pretended he wasn't around, instead picking up another sphere and looking at it. She nodded slightly, just enough for Corundum to see. She'll try, she understood that Damaya may have her reasons to keep to herself, but someone had to help her with that at some point, and who better than her friend? Did she really think of Damaya as a friend now? Objectively, they were acquaintances with how long they knew each other, but emotionally, Araha wanted to think they were friends or at least more than acquaintances, less than friends. Ran turned into the form of leaves flowing in the wind and she flitted onto the side, seeing no more need to be a hair clip since there was no more reason for Araha to look cute while training. Araha noticed, but didn't think much of it. So, she needed to make Damaya use her powers, hm? Maybe not that far, even just making her curious about her own powers would be maybe enough. She knew that Damaya was just like her, a potential surgebinder since she bonded a spren, but since she didn't know much about the unique sprens, she didn't know which surges she had, and she didn't mention. Well, either way, a good way to make someone curious would be to put on a show, though it might now be much of a show since she was still new to surgebinding. She breathed the light of the spheres in, not a lot, just enough to make her start glowing faintly. The power hit her like a bucket of water being dumped on her while she was sleeping, except the water was pure good feelings. She steadied her breathing and looked at her hands, faint wisps trailing from them, confirming that she now had stormlight. There were a few tall wooden poles around, and she wanted to have a warm up, she ran straight at one, then stopped and kickflipped off the pole, the landed expertly. That was good, now what about actually using her surges? She knew surges could be cast on oneself as well, time to try it out. She willed herself to fall upward, and the surge complied, lashing her up once. She jumped and noticed that it was much higher and she fell much slower, so that meant that two lashes would completely let her float? This bodes well. She cancelled the lashing, falling to the ground and landing once again, she wanted to try out Adhesion first before showing off. She grabbed one of the smaller steel things from the table and infused it with stormlight, then walked over to the wooden pole and stuck it there, it gripped, small blue spren dancing about it, she didn't know what those were, but she'd study that later, she pulled to see if it would come off and it didn't. She climbed on top of it and it still gripped firm. She jumped down and took in more stormlight from the spheres. It was finally time to show off. Araha dashed toward the pillar again, this time after kicking off, she lashed herself upward twice, so the flip allowed her to spin repeatedly in the air instead of touching down, she almost got nauseous, but she centered herself. She then lashed her legs toward the pillar, then cancelled it just as quickly, abruptly stopping her spinning, giving her slight whiplash, she still needed to learn more about this. She was still floating in the air, then as she realized that she was actually floating, and not just hanging in the air, she laughed, enjoying herself too much. Then an idea hit her: She stood in a stance, and started performing a basic ChayShan kata in mid-air. It wasn't as easy as she thought since her feet couldn't really grip onto anything, so her movements were stationary, even though she moved her feet, but hopefully that looked interesting enough that Damaya would at least be curious. She let the lashings run out and she landed. She still had some stormlight inside of her, since she knew about the withdrawal of taking in too much and expending them too quickly. She looked at Damaya's reaction, excited to see what it would be.

When they arrived, Araha took in the grounds' details, they weren't as open as the grasslands back home where she grew up and trained, but that made sense since this was in the mountains and was specifically made to be training grounds, but this was by no means small. This place also had numerous resources for various usage of Investiture, some infused spheres, different metals, some smaller, likely meant to be ingested, and some cloth, some regular, others cut vaguely like a man likely for Awakening. There were also some things she didn't know what were for, some round pieces of glass, they looked like lenses, and some chalk. She remembered some information on those in passing, but she wasn't really sure how they worked yet. As for what she wanted to train... "Ideally, I'd wanna try out this new surgebinding, Adhesion and Gravitation, what I can do, and such. What about you?" She asked Damaya, her face lit up with the idea she just got, "ooh and do you know how to fight? I could actually try teaching you the basics if you want!" She'd never tried teaching before, so she didn't even know how good she'd be, but it was worth a try.

Araha blushed at the compliment, she'd never been complimented before, well except by Ran and Master Soren, but those times didn't count. "Oh, um... thanks! Y-you too!" Araha said, grinning with a hint of confusion, she did not know how to respond to compliments. Good thing Damaya seemed to change the topic though, and it was an exciting topic too. She did want to train and see what she could do with surgebinding, well, she knew what she could do, but knowing and experiencing were two different things. "Yes, I'd love to train actually, maybe get an edge before starting our actual lessons. You'll have to lead again though, I have no idea where the training room is." She chuckled. She did want to train, but she also wanted to keep an eye on that dangerous man, though by her own words, it was probably a good idea to stay away from him. She just had to hope that the other people in the Waystop could take care of trouble if ever. She breathed deep and followed Damaya.

Once they were out of earshot, Araha spoke. "Alright, so I wasn't lying when I said y'didn't miss much, and I hope this doesn't alarm you too much, but the man just felt really dangerous to me, with how he looks and carries himself," she paused, "the woman I was just talking with seems to know him and she's warned me that he actually is dangerous but won't start anything as long as we don't agitate him." Araha shifted her weight, "I don't know, but I think y'like to help people, and that's a good thing, I do too, but maybe it might be a good idea if you, well, if both of us, stay away from this man." Well that was awfully serious of you, me. Araha told herself. "Um, I hope I didn't scare you though," Araha told Damaya, "we can probably trust in Ms. Yzabet and the others to take care of things if ever trouble starts brewing." Araha wasn't really sure how combat effective everyone was, but she very well hoped that she wasn't the best fighter in the Waystop currently besides the newcomers.

Araha was once again surpised, though less so, when Damaya asked her what she missed. It was probably a good idea not to tell her about the danger the man emitted while in ear-shot. "Oh no, not much, two new guests arriving." Araha said with a shrug, it was a technical truth instead of a lie, and she was good at those. She turned back to the newer woman whose name she didn't know. "Thanks for telling me what you did, by the way, I'll stay out of your ways." She nodded at the woman then motioned to walk to the hallway leading up to the rooms, patting Damaya's shoulder and gesturing her to follow.

Araha almost jumped in surprise as she was addressed by the other woman, she put her hands up. "Uhh, I wasn't trying-- I wasn't trying to start a fight!" She laughed nervously, she really wasn't trying to start a fight, but the way she laughed probably made her more suspicious, then in a lower voice, she added: "I was just being cautious." Though with how she described him, her confidence in taking him in a fight was wavering even more now.

Cosmic Deconstruction: Eubeal vs Ioc (non canon battle)
Cyanic replied to Cyanic's topic in The Alleyverse
There were different kinds of humour from different sapient species, and Eubeal thought it would be human-humourous to use his opponent's own favourite power against him: gravity. Eubeal took away the gravitational vectors of the knife toward him then instantly added quadruple the amount backward toward his opponent, the knife started slowing in mid-air, then fell backwards at faster speeds toward his opponent. The laser was liable to be problem, so he didn't take the chance. He shifted aside with distance, just enough to clear the girth of the beam, then he increased the gravitational pull of his immediate surroundings, strong but not reaching far that it could attract houses from a continent away and cause the planet to start imploding, just reaching far enough for it to do the thing it needed to. Gravity was an interesting thing, it was a vector value force, but it was also the distortion in space time massive objects had that attracted other objects to them, like a bowling ball on a trampoline. It could also bend light. The laser passed by and threatened to singe the fabric on his clothes from heat convection alone, so he turned down the heat, just enough to prevent it from singeing. Then, the laser bent, It didn't really bend, per se, it was still going in a straight line, it was spacetime that bent. It would just look like it bent to an observer who used light to see. Like a black hole with Eubeal as the center, but without being a real black hole, the laser curved around him, behind him, then back toward his opponent. This was normally not what singularities do, but he made it so that the gravitational force wasn't consistent, but varied throughout to accomplish this effect. -
"Um, thanks." Araha replied with a nod, though it wasn't as confident as she wanted it to seem. The man seemed to think she could use allomancy, still, she could probably practice on those metals with Adhesion and Gravitation. She didn't leave the lobby though, instead finding a wall to lean on that gave her a clear view of the two newcomers sizing them up just in case a fight broke out. The woman she couldn't read properly, but the man was a different story. His sword was intimidating, but it was also likely slow. There weren't many people who could wield a sword like that effectively even given his size and build, so either he had hemalurgic spikes that gave him strength, was a pewter misting of some kind, maybe compounder, or something else, or he had one of those sparking Epic powers that she'd yet to really study. Pewter only enhanced the misting to a point where they were as strong as three or four people, which would make him formidable, but it wouldn't be sustainable with how large his sword is. The other alternative —well, there were a lot of alternatives— was that he was a pewter compounder which would give him a large burst of strength, but if he wasn't used to that, the added muscle mass would be cumbersome. Either way, if a fight were to break out, she'd need to tire him out, and let him burn out his metals before striking, still though, allomancers could be tricky with their burnings, and because she wasn't one herself, she wouldn't be able to detect when he ran out of metal. And what if he was Mistborn? She gulped, either way, she was glad to have Ran with her. She touched the 'hair clip' on her head, to give her comfort.

Cosmic Deconstruction: Eubeal vs Ioc (non canon battle)
Cyanic replied to Cyanic's topic in The Alleyverse
Eubeal saw a specific something being sent to him in the vibrations of the world, he was about shift himself out of the way, but he was curious what it was. That something hit and it became apparent to him. This was supposedly the injuries that were on his opponent, and some more abstract things like pain. Abstract things and attacks interacted with him strangely, he remembered having a quick duel with ΛntƱKchi Laus. —or Lan'i as was her shorter name— and her casting a spell that was intended to slow the mind to a crawl, when the spell landed, his mind wasn't slowed, but instead he had more erratic fluctuations in his 'physical' body for a few minutes before it subsided. It was likely that the spell was intended for those that actually had biological brains, but that's neither here nor there. As the supposed pain hit, Eubeal felt none, and instead felt his self vibrate more, a few thousand times a second, accidentally burning, but not incinerating, the clothes he stole. He lowered the heat to a few numbers short of absolute zero, both to counteract the heat produced by the vibration and to keep the suit in tact. He wasn't irritated though, as this wasn't really his suit. As frost started forming on his suit and in the area around him, He looked at his hand, it was indeed still vibrating, quantum and physical fluctations that vaguely held the form of a five fingered human hand, to those that saw through light, it would look like an ever-shifting wave of orange, like a refined solar flare that never ended. Eubeal almost forgot to counter-attack. He created a few hundred rocks the size of torsos by selecting some hundreds of sand grains and giving them proportional mass and volume. He then let them fly at his opponent with velocity, at the same Mach 8 speeds from earlier when he sent the miniscule star, each rock making a sonic boom as they took off and sounding as if someone were firing a machine gun. Speaking of the star, he brought it back to him by reducing distance again, and he instantly reduced all its heat and turned it into a chunk of ice and dropped it, the drastic interaction creating a small explosion that Eubeal had to reduce the force to 0 so that it didn't rip the fabric of his suit. He just wanted to make sure the small star wouldn't bother either of them and wouldn't have consequences on the planet if left alone too long. -

Araha realized that the man she was talking to earlier, whose name she didn't catch, didn't answer her questions about her lodgings (referring to Mr. Amber), and that was okay, but now there was another person here, who just broke the door with what looked like allomancy, likely steel. ...she was probably going to have to wait a week to get her lessons, wasn't she?

Deras caught the necklace, and looked at it, slightly confused. He saw what the necklace did, but he wasn't really sure what it was. "What is, and how use?" He yelled over at Devaan, gesturing to the necklace that deras begun to put on.
-
Deras jumped back down from the height, his enhanced muscles dampening the damage to his legs, and whatever wasn't dampened was being worked on by his regeneration. Deras jogged up to the ship that just touched down. He looked into the opening and began to speak, climbing up the ramp a bit so his voice wouldn't be lost amidst the loud roar of the engines. "Will need equipment." He said, voice still raised so it could be heard. "But I understand you may not affiliated with groundsmaster, and may not assist directly, provide equipment will be enough, especially guns." Deras nodded, making his statement as short as possible without losing its meaning.

Cosmic Deconstruction: Eubeal vs Ioc (non canon battle)
Cyanic replied to Cyanic's topic in The Alleyverse
Eubeal gathered energy then progressed to Stage 2, dilating his own time enough that the energy he gathered was sufficient. Stage 1 already had a lot of power, but Stage 2 added more versatility, he could do much things in 1 as he could in 2 using different means, but 2 just provided him with more means. He'd gotten much better at charging ever since that time he fought a godmodder. The advanced quantum fairy looked up to the several ton mess of molten mass going toward him. Then he cancelled the gravitational force in about a kilometer of radius around them, making most things start to float as they were flung from the planet's rotation. That didn't stop the mass from moving yet though, so he applied some force upward and with his quantum sense, allowed him to just produce enough counter-force that it slowed the mass down, then stopped it, it now hovered in mid-air without any speed. Then he shifted a chunk of sand, as large as a basketball to his hand via distance value, he could also use displacement now, but it really had the same effects and had pretty much no difference besides semantics. Eubeal increased heat on the chunk to turn it into glass and to let them stick to each other without falling apart. He then increased the density, heat, and gravitational pull of the object not too much to create a singularity but enough to create a miniature star, letting the star fly up toward the mass at an angle, using velocity at around 9,600 km/h, Mach 8, the solar ball creating a sonic boom as soon as it left his hand. -
Araha looked at the newcomer, and the way he presented himself. He had a somewhat threatening air about him. Great. She thought, I'm just here for lessons and what do I get? An eccentric man-looking creature that didn't feel pain, a sparking bomb, and now whatever this man's deal is. She ranted in her head. She sighed, she really just wanted to study in peace.

"Have weapon." Deras nodded, and summoned the sword into his hand, then let go so that it dropped back into mist. "Was meaning armor and equipment? They were tough opponents, and many of them. Doubt only having weapons would help much." Deras said then looked up at the ship in still in the sky, they had guns, and the team might need guns if they were to fight much more of those 'Panthers.' "Will be right back." Having his body fully healed now, he leapt onto the sole structure in the training grounds to get elevation. Climbing to as high as the building reached, he gripped tightly and waved at the gunship, hoping to get its attention.
-
"No problem, let's talk again later." Araha replied and smiled back. As Damaya left, Araha made her way over to the man that Damaya was talking with earlier, he seemed like he had authority and she hadn't seen the owner of the Waystop in a while, maybe he was substituting for her for the time being. "Um, good evening." She bowed at him, well, half bow, half nod. "I'm assuming you're taking over in the owner's absence, so, sorry if I'm wrong. I'm Araha, I've already checked in as a tenant, and I have a few questions about my stay if you're free to be asked for now?" @Life&Death

Cosmic Deconstruction: Eubeal vs Ioc (non canon battle)
Cyanic replied to Cyanic's topic in The Alleyverse
Quantum sense determined that the beam of light was indeed enough to harm Eubeal, and he was indeed harmed by the blast, but not as it would a regular biological organism. More importantly, the blast ruined his suit. Eubeal did not like it when his suits were dirtied, and he especially disliked it when they were ruined. The burnt cloth exposed his 'body' underneath: physical interactions that were constantly fluctuating, barely held together in a humanoid form. Eubeal distance 0'd some poor sod's own suit from somewhere else and wore it over his 'body.' He then put a pebble in his hand, then shifted its density to be that of a boulder, at least so it could withstand what he was about to have it do. He threw the rock toward Ioc and increase its scalar value for speed to 0.99c, 99% the speed of light, creating a few streaks of plasma that exploded at its launch point, as well as heating up the sand around them, turning that into glass first, then melting the glass. -
"Well, I guess not, but still!" Araha said with a shrug. "And um, I'll be right back!" She made her way back to the dining room and ended up in the library. "Err, could you help me out a bit here, Ran?" She laughed, slightly embarrassed. "We need to work on your directions." Ran replied, her voice sounding defeated. She turned into her ribbon form and lead Araha back to the dining room. The food was probably cold by now, and Araha loathed cold food, but it was good and she didn't want it to go to waste. She found her plate and finished the last few bites, and went to the kitchen area, which was near enough that she didn't get lost, and washed her plate. She'd have washed more but there wasn't really more to wash. After that was done, she left the plates to dry, then made her way back to the lobby, with a little help from Ran. Once they were back, she turned back into a hair clip. Araha settled near Damaya on instinct. "We're back, just had to finish the meal so it didn't go to waste!" Araha said to no one in particular.
