Araha almost missed the question, still fixated on the dragon. "Chaos." She told Dayne, "they were part of the ones that caused havoc back in the war. They have artillery, so the new defenses can't reach them." All this mention of the war really threatened to surface the memories that were being drowned in the depths of forgetfulness for a reason, but she successfully pushed them back down, thinking of the dragon, and their current situation.

I want Deras to participate in this too, but only later, when he's more 'complete.'

"Oh. Ran told me they're Chaos, like the ones that caused havoc in the war." She joined Damaya with looking outside. And only then did she notice the sparking dragon in the sky. Her eyes widened. "UM... That, that dragon... that's on our side, right?!" She asked no one in particular, not taking her eyes off the creature.

"No, but I doubt she could defend from explosions by curling into a ball." She told Damaya. "More importantly, we need to get back inside, I didn't see any injured, so the people around are likely good at what they do. C'mon!" Araha told her as she ran back inside, "Ran, take watch, physical thing don't harm you right? If you find any injured tell me, or if you get injured yourself retreat inside." "I was planning that." Ran, in the form of a sand grain, replied to Araha. This would be strange if Araha had time to think it strange, but there were more important matters. 'Take care, Ara." Araha nodded as Ran zipped off. She laid the woman she was carrying on the floor inside, still as a ball. Damaya could use her powers, Illumination to help with the defense somehow. No, not when she became distressed at the mere mention of it.

Cosmic Deconstruction: Eubeal vs Ioc (non canon battle)
Cyanic replied to Cyanic's topic in The Alleyverse
"You could always do what I said and come with me to a different 'verse, if you want this to end. All you have to do is surrender." Eubeal spoke, the sand pillars/tendrils still on standby. -

"Sparks! What the hell?!" Araha swore as the several explosions happened all around, they were spread far apart, but they hit through some of the structure of the Waystop, but not deep, the Waystop's newly reinforced steel stopping most of the blast, but some of the explosions landed on the ground around. That wasn't any kind of Investiture that she knew of, she wasn't sure what they were. "Ran, can you scout around and determine what's causing these explosions?" "Right." Ran nodded and, in the form of a grain of sand flitted by so quickly that Araha didn't see her despite glowing. She surveyed, looking around for injured, there were none for now thankfully. She did see one of the women who watched the training grounds from before curling herself into a ball. (@Sorana) She turned to Damaya. "You'll need to take shelter back inside, it's much safer than being out here." She told her then ran to the table with the spheres and inhaled a large amount, but not all of it so that if there were people who could use surges, they still could. Ran returned. "Multiple tanks, their insignias looked like Chaos." Chaos?! Those bastards are attacking Roshar now? Araha thought, she remembered Master Soren mentioning them in passing as being one of the forces that caused more destruction in the war. "Sparks! Sparks sparks storming sparks!" Araha swore more. Weapons of war were something she wasn't that familiar with, and she knew for a fact that she could not fight tanks. She ran over to the woman who curled herself up in a ball, stormlight enhanced speed carrying her quickly. Whatever she was doing it wasn't going to protect her from explosions. (@Silva)"Don't be alarmed!" She said as she picked the woman up, stormlight enhanced speed, grace, and precision, but it also gave a bit of strength. She then ran back toward the Waystop proper, its roof and walls still holding strong against the onslaught. *** Deras rode in the roaring ship, Waystop-bound.

Deras confirmed what Devaan said and tapped the glass on the pendant, it projected itself into a helmet, materializing from lines of light, then he tapped again so that it dissipated. He turned back to the ship and climbed aboard. "I assume know where destination is, will lend guns and armor?" He asked.

Damaya smiled wider, "don't be sorry, we're friends now alright? And friends tell each other everything... well most things." she chuckled as she wiped her own tears and got up. She was happy that Damaya opened up to her. What made her even happier was her actually accepting Araha's offer of journeying with her. It was likely those cruel ones would try to look for Damaya though when they found her missing, but she'd be there to help her friend out if ever they were found. "Let's head to my room for now, it'd be strange if I came back outside without finding the thing that I was supposed to be looking for!" Incidentally, her room was nearby. She left the door open in case Damaya wanted to enter, then found something sufficient to back up the excuse: her knuckle dusters. She equipped them expertly, and hit them together. With that, she turned to Damaya. "I'm going to head back outside, feel free to stay here if you want." Araha nodded. Then she realized something. She hadn't seen the dangerous man in the training grounds outside, that meant that he might still be in the lobby somewhere. "...on second though, it might be a better idea if we went back outside, the man I warned you about might still be in here, and it might be better to have more people around. Ran, can you cover our backs?" "Right," Ran nodded and flitted around the hallway, looking in the lobby, then rushing back. "He's still there. I'll lag behind." Araha nodded and motioned for Damaya to follow her, once she did, they'd jog back out to the grounds where everyone was.

Araha continued hugging Damaya, and she felt Ran turn into her woman form and stand beside them, putting her own hand on Araha's back. Araha's tears still flowed, which made it hard to speak. She sniffed, "f-for the time being, I can pay for your room. I talked with Ms. Yzabet about the price for the room, for both of us, if we help around, 10 chrysts a night isn't so bad." She paused, "but after our time here, I can take you to the village I grew up in, it's in the Alleyverse, but away from the city. Master Soren is kind, if strict, but he'd never hurt someone under his care. And if you don't like that, you can come with me, Master sent me out on a journey, and I don't think it stops here at the Waystop." Araha smiled, and pulled away a bit just enough so that she was making eye contact with Damaya without letting go. "Those people, in the city, you don't owe them anything anymore, I think you paid your debts when they started..." Araha paused, finding the right words, "when they started being cruel."

Cosmic Deconstruction: Eubeal vs Ioc (non canon battle)
Cyanic replied to Cyanic's topic in The Alleyverse
Eubeal saw another abstraction flying toward him, and he didn't move out of the way again. Then he remembered something: Him promising Ioc that he'd share his weaknesses. The way this memory just came up was suspicious and he knew for a fact that this was a fabricated one, especially with how different this one was in relation to how he usually stored experiences. That and his current connection with the strange voice verified to him that those were indeed not his own. That was alright though. "You know I could've just lied about making that promise anyway, right?" He begun, "but I'll give it to you though, that was well thought. I can only be harmed by energy equivalent to a star, specifically the energy the star produces in a millenia. I also said harmed, not killed, it's likely it'd take a few hundred stars to actually dissipate me completely." He nodded. "Oh and," he supposed he could give up a bit more information, who knows, maybe his opponent would give up from the sheer weight of his words, "my primary abilities are the control of scalar values, I have 4 Stages that I can reach by gathering dormant energy. Currently I'm at Stage 2 which grants me control over vectors and vector values, that was how I used gravity." He demonstrated by using force and velocity vectors to manipulate the sand around him, turning them into unnaturally symmetrical tendrils, about a few dozen of them. He just let them stand as he waited for Ioc's response, the sand looking more like pillars than tendrils. -
Araha covered her mouth as Damaya showed a traumatic memory through Illumination. It was horrible, she never knew people could be that cruel, she'd heard about it, read about it, but that was the first time she saw it almost first-hand. At the man from Damaya's memory, she felt intimidated, but more so she felt anger. Who was he? What gave him any right to treat another like that? She also felt her own distress at how twisted stormlight could be, and sorrow for what Damaya had to go through, was this what Damaya felt and saw every time she saw stormlight? Araha's emotions were a storm in her, many different ones. She wanted to intervene somehow, to help her friend, to do anything, but it was just an image made by Illumination, though not any less real. When the memory was over, she saw Damaya on her knees, tears flowing. It took a moment, then Araha rushed over to her, kneeling by her. “Memories.” “The only thing I’ve been able to do are memories.” Damaya said in a quiet voice, almost a whisper. Araha welled up, she wanted to help her badly. Then she embraced Damaya, she'd let go if she felt her pull away, but right now she hoped Damaya would accept the gesture, at least. "Th-Then," she stuttered as she hugged, her own tears started to slowly flow. She sniffed. "Then let's make our own memories. Better memories." She concluded, still embracing.

"You can talk to me, Damaya," Araha said with a small smile, "but I don't want to push you if you don't want to." They reached the inside where the hallways to the rooms were, and Araha stopped there, standing by a wall.

From high above, Ran saw Araha moving away from the crowd and followed her, turning into the form of a grain of sand. When they were inside, Araha turned to Damaya. She still seemed out of it. She didn't really need Damaya to lead her around since she miraculously remembered where her room was, and she didn't really have anything to look for, that was all just an excuse. Now though, at least Araha understood better, Damaya wasn't just afraid of using her surges, she was actively distressed by people talking about it. She kept that in mind. "Damaya, are you alright?" She's clearly not, Araha. She scolded herself in her mind, then gingerly put a hand on Damaya's back, hoping to comfort her.

Mr. Amber's mention of technology piqued Araha's interest, though it might be best to ask about it later when there wasn't such a group forming and he wasn't having to answer questions left and right. "I'm indeed interested, but maybe another time." Araha noticed Damaya's distress though, and she wanted to help out her close-acquaintance. It was probably the line of questionings that was getting to her, "Oh!" Araha said to no one in particular. "I think I forgot something in my room, I didn't see it earlier," she then turned to Damaya. "Damaya, can you come with me? I might need help finding it, also so that I don't get lost." She chuckled, and motioned for Damaya to follow.

Araha turned back to Mr. Amber. "Um, I just wanted to learn if there were other forms of Investiture that could be given to a person even if they weren't born into it," she said, then quickly added: "Without hemalurgy of course!" She knew about BioChroma and Awakening, but she wasn't sure of any other way to bestow Investiture (besides hemalurgy) on a person with Cosmere Investiture, she was curious to know if non-Cosmere Investiture had the same restrictions.

Araha stared surprised at the woman's statements and how seemingly without tact they were. While yes, it was true that Damaya would likely be able to stop fearing her powers later on, how she phrased that Damaya's problems were only a 'temporary setback' felt somewhat callous, but Araha didn't want to scold a woman who was much older than her, and didn't want to take from Damaya's agency, still though. She even almost missed the answer directed at her. While yes, it wasn't Investiture from the Cosmere, Investiture seemed to be a catch-all term now for abilities beyond those of regular humans.

"I can surgebind." Araha said. "Um... you may have seen it earlier with the whole bomb incident." She chuckled, "that was Gravitation, I also have Adhesion." He'd probably be able to deduce that she was a Windrunner, "I'm curious about those chalks though, you said they were Rithmatic? What kind of Investiture is that, and can anyone become a Rithmatism...ist? Rithist? Rithmaticist?" She also noticed the woman that she spoke to earlier seeming to offer combat, she did say something about combat practice earlier. Araha didn't want to fight yet though, not when the most unique aspect of her fighting style could be revealed. She turned to her and smiled nervously, waving her hands in a gesture of decline, and mouthing the word 'sorry!'

She'd introduced herself earlier, but she guessed he was kind of busy to catch the name since there was so much people around. "I'm Araha Sollus." She nodded with a smile. "I'm really curious about these Investitures, but, um, Ms. Yzabet hasn't been around for a while, is she alright?"

The talk of different Investitures, Investitures that Araha's never heard of before got her excited. She approached the man first, "you mentioned some different Investiture types that I'm not familiar with yet, I know about Epic Investiture, but haven't heard of the other three, do those have something to do with those lenses and chalks on the table?" She asked. "Oh and by the way, I don't think I've caught your name yet, Mr.?" She added.

Araha decided to give her own answer too, "I guess, the training grounds isn't really for fighting only, mostly for practicing Investiture and such. I did hear of a training grounds for actual combat somewhere in Scadrial. Apparently, the person that runs it is a veteran, my Master even heard rumors that he was around for the war all those years ago." Again, Araha's memories of the war threatened to surface, but just mentioning it wasn't that bad and she was able to push those memories down with ease.

Araha, put a hand to her back, toward wherever Corundum's voice was coming from, and did a thumbs up, though she wasn't sure if spren understood human gestures, well Ran did, but Ran's been around for a while. Right now though the training grounds have become much more crowded than earlier. There was even the woman from earlier in the lobby, asking if they wanted to train, but she was talking with someone else now, Clay apparently, who had a sign of 'CALL ME KLASTEN' on his breastplate now.

Araha was disappointed at how this man reacted. Maybe she'd just lost her touch, oh well. She then looked over to Damaya at his question.
