  1. What I find "funny" about this is that to me: a Cosmere fan, these are terrifying threats that if said to me would cause me to lock my doors and keep a weapon on my person for months. But to a non-Cosmere fan these phrases make no sense and would probably be passed off as mad ravings. That being said, my threat would be: "I will use your entire family to make you into a koloss."
  2. Even though the ending of The Well of Ascension had me literally screaming "NO!" into a pillow (in a good way), I have to pick the end of The Hero of Ages with Sazed becoming the Hero. I never saw it coming and as I read this part, all the clues in the previous books came into my mind and that was the moment when I forgot that I was reading a book and just saw it all happen in my mind. It is probably the most satisfying ending to a series I have ever read and the ending to Stormlight will have to be completely insane to top it. But this is Sanderson, I have faith.
  3. So far, I think that they should be read like this: Elantris, The orginal Mistborn trilogy, The Way of Kings, Warbreaker, the Wax and Wayne series, Words of Radience, Arcanum Unbounded, White Sand, Oathbringer.
  4. I relate most to Lift. She is constantly making a joke about something but knows when things get serious and responds to it. She also wants to help people but she isn't always faced with physically beatable problems, so she must help them by listening and caring, which is how I want to help people in real life.
  5. Mistborn: The Final Empire was the first Cosmere book I read and it was at a time when I was going through a stage of learning to open myself up to other people (I am an big introvert). So reading Vin's story arc and seeing her having to open up for the first, like how I was, really helped me understand not only her character better but how to understand and deepen the relationships I was making in real life.
  6. I know that this will make me sound like a terrible person but, if Adolin turns out to be Odium's champion, then I want to see Dalinar be Honor's champion and fight him in a battle for the planet. Even better would be if the Stormfather would come down and be his shardblade for the battle. My hope, however, is that Adolin is not the champion and this will not have to happen.
  7. I would want to be a water bender. I would be able to pull liquid from any plant and I could heal people!
  8. I wanted to make my list contain what I think are the most OP versions of each catagory. So, Team Leader: Harmony from Mistorn. Harmony is probably the most powerful being in the Cosmere right now and knows how to set up plans that will work in the long run. Also, he's just a good person. Brawler: Saitama from One Punch Man. I don't need to really explain this one, he can beat almost any enemy with a single punch. He is also seemingly indescrucible and super, super fast. Weapons Expert: Ratchet and Clank from the video game franchise. These two have saved the galaxy multible times and mostly because they have one of the largest and most diverse arsenals in all of fiction. Brains: The Doctor from Doctor Who. I know a lot of people put him on their lists but they have a good reason. After living for thousands of years and meeting every alien imaginable, he is a walking encyclopedia of knowledge. Healer: van Hohenheim from Fullmetal Alchemists. Hohenheim has been shown to be able to heal wounds with a thought and taught a whole country about a form of alchemy that can heal. Also he is effectively immortal. Speed Fight: The Flash from DC comics. This was an easy choice since the Flash is the fastest thing alive. And he is able to use that speed in a number of different ways to fight. Mascot: The Genie from Aladdin. A cheerleader who can do anything to encourage the team, awesome! The Guy Who Dies First: whoever is taking good franchises and turning them into terrible movies. I don't think I need to explain myself.
  9. I have taken this test several times and I always get the same answer: INFP the Mediator. And I was shocked at how much this personality resembles me. Especially the introvert aspects.
  10. "It isn't the fact that your dead that counts, but only how did you die?" The last line of the poem 'How did you die?' by Edmund Vance Cooke.
  11. I'm glad that I finally found a list of Hoid theories, I have one that I would like to share. And if anyone has a criticism of this theory, please tell me what it is so I can think about it. Okay the set up to my theory is this: I started to think about how we could learn more about Hoid and decide to see what the Shards thought of him since they knew who he was at one point. We see in Secret History that Preservation knows him but does not see him as a threat, apparently Odium will turn Hoid into space dust if he finds him, and from Hoid's own lips he says that Honor bought him drinks, seemingly as an act of kindness. I thought on these clues for a while and started to get an idea which got bigger when I considered Hoid's characteristics. As we have seen, Hoid is a master at both understanding how a person thinks and blending into the background in a disguise. I my experience, if you want to learn about how a people think you have to be exposed to a large group of diverse people over a long period of time and slowly learn why they do the things they do. This is strengthened by another master of disguise in the Cosmere: Wayne, who will bend his mind to conform to the thought process of the type of person he is pretending to be. What I get from this is that Hoid has at one point been around many, many people and was around them long enough to learn what each of their motivations were and why. Hoid also hates Odiums shardholder, was on Yolen, was at the Shattering, and while he is a man, has been altered in some way. I took all this information and made a crazy theory which is this: What if Hoid was the guide of the 16 Shardholders to the location where they shattered Adonalsium? I know that it sounds crazy but let me explain. Hoid knows tons of stories and information about people. He could learn this if he was leading people around Yolen from one place to another for years. This also explains why he understands people so well since he was around them so often. What I think happened was this: the 16 needed to be at a certain place to take down Adonalsium but didn't know hoe to get there. So they had Honor find a guide to show them the way(possibly convincing him over drinks?). Now Hoid is no idiot and probably realized that this group was up to something big and decided to keep his eyes open. So he leads them to the place they asked for, all the while doing his usual antics causing some to be amused and others to be more then a little annoyed. Once they get to the location Hoid has probably figured out what is going on. Wanting to prevent him from either stopping them or telling others Odium's shardholder attacked him and seemingly killed him. But Hoid still had enough strength left to witness them shatter Adonalsium and their ascension. Now when something that reality breaking happens there are always aftereffects, and because Hoid was right in the line of fire of the Shattering he got an unprecedented look into the three realms and was exposed to so much Investiture that it altered his soul, mind, and body. Now he roams the Cosmere for some unknown purpose, but plans to have revenge on the man who tried to kill him and after seeing so much of the Cosmere in an instant, is slowly unraveling all of its secrets. So that is my Hoid theory, if you disagree with it please tell me what is wrong in a polite way please. Thank you.
  12. I would pick mistborn. I really like surges, shard plates and blades but they are each limited in some way. Surges can bend the laws of physics to the users whim but only if they have stormlight, which will disappear if the highstorms stop for some reason. And they are limited in how much each can do; for instance gravitation can only change a little portion of gravity, not crush mountains. Shards, on the other hand, have only one purpose, to kill and destroy. Not a lot of options while using them in everyday life. Mistborn also have limits but the strengths usually over shine them, and there are an abundance of allomantic materials (metal) to perform a variety of powers that can help you in a fight, make negotiations, and many other occupations to get through life on a Cosmere planet.
  13. I know that a lot of people have discussed this in the above posts but I want to add my take on it. I would vote steel/steel but not just for the speed. You see, you don't have to tap an incredible amount of speed to be dangerous, just enough that guns and fists are too late. But there is another advantage that I haven't seen mentioned here. That being you also have Allomantic steel. Imagine it, a madman who is impossible to entrap, shoot, and even see at times but who also can shoot a metal projectile with pinpoint accuracy from hundreds of yards away. The death toll would be utterly devastating.
  14. I had never thought of this before, so this is pretty cool and I hope we eventually get some confirmation on it. My take would be that while it may be possible to Awaken liquid, you would need the right command and intent. Vasher is clear when he says, "We really don't know what we are doing", but one thing for certain is that the wording for the command must be correct. You can't tell a puddle to act in the same way as a rope. But hopefully Sanderson will explain this in Warbreaker 2.
  15. It's hard enough to find some of his published works, let alone the ones sent out to the general public.
  16. I have never believed that the Lord Ruler was just boasting at the end of The Final Empire, even though a lot of fans do. His powers fully realized are on par with Superman. His pewter/pewter would probably make him the strongest person in the Cosmere. His ability to store weight, compound speed and push /pull on even the smallest bit of metal would let him "fly" at thousands of miles per hour. He could breathe in space, expell extreme heat from his body, repell bullets, heal from anything that did hit him, never go hungry, have super enhanced senses, superhuman intellect, and ages very, very slowly. No wonder he didn't try to kill Vin right away, he must have been bored out of his mind.
  17. Hello Darkness, I have yet to read White Sand, Legion, Snapshot, Infinity Blade and Mitosis.
  18. When you watch a fantasy movie and constantly ask the the question; "What would happen to the plot if a mistborn was in this movie?"
  19. I choose to be a mistborn for the combat abilities it gives, and the god king because of how much investiture he has. I would then have power to manipulate time, emotions, and the physical world plus be immortal and bring inanimate objects to life.
  20. Hello 17th shard. I just want put out a question out on the forum for the first time and see how it goes. My question is, how far do Nightblood's destructive abilities go? We know that he can cut through all three realms, but does that mean he can destroy, for instance, radiation? Something which is in the physical realm but is very hard to simply attack with a weapon. Say a wall of fire is coming toward you and you pull out Nightblood to block the flames. Will the sword melt away the flames or could something else happen? Please give comments on what you think are Nightbloods limits in these situations.
  21. The combination I would want the most would be steel/steel. Not only would I be able to fly (jump) but I could compound speed, so I could pretty much dodge bullets. But technically that is not a twinborn, it is a compounder. So my other choice would be a steel misting and a tin ferring, giving me the ability to watch for evil deeds and then fly to the rescue.
  22. This was a hard list to make: In cartoons it would be Uncle Iroh from Avatar the Last Airbender because of how good a character and role model he is. Sci-fi would be the Doctor for how cool his spaceship is and how he can be deep and complex one minute then side splitting funny the next. (Also, David Tennant is my preferred Doctor) And in fantasy books I have too many, Halt (Rangers Apprentice) for being awesome, Percy Jackson for being both funny and awesome, and Beren from the Silmarillion for completing a quest that made destroying the One Ring look like crossing the street. And I have many, many more.
  23. Favorite book: The Prisoner of Azkaban. The dementors are really cool monsters. Favorite movie: The Prisoner of Azkaban. This where the movies started to take slightly darker tone, which I enjoyed. My Hogwarts house would probably be Hufflepuff. I am not very ambitious, clever or brave. Favorite character: Neville Longbottom. Started as a dweeb and ended as one of the most hardcore people in the series.
  24. Probably the funniest book I've ever read was Carl Hiaasen's Chomp. I had trouble breathing at certain parts.
  25. I agree wholeheartedly with this post. There are so many things in that movie that can be explained with Cosmere magic: the cloak (Awakening),the other dimensions (the Cognitive realm), and the glowing symbols for weapons (Aons).
