  1. I don't think anyone mentioned it yet, but it looks like the reason that Lightweavers speak truths is because of all the people and lies they can become. It strengthens the bond with their spren and keeps their 'self' in tact, while simultaneously reaching a level of self awareness. No matter who Shallan becomes, she can't shove aside her truths. @Stark I agree that if she rejects her truths, she will break her oaths and kill pattern.
  2. Thanks, I remember reading this before, I think.
  3. Yes it was in addition to his own, but this only implies it is usable after it is removed from the kandra who originally owned it, not that is limited in its use. But I agree with the cultural prohibition, I was just speculating on the possibility.
  4. TenSoon was able to use OreSeur's Blessing after he killed him. I can't see the Blessing wouldn't be reusable.
  5. And he's a Lerasium mistborn to top it off. Though it probably doesn't make a difference for compounded abilities.
  6. "Whenever I'm thinkin' my life is miserable, I remember him, and tell myself, 'Well, Wayne. At least you ain't a broke, d*#kless feller what can't even pick his nose properly.' And I feels better."
  7. I think that stormlight makes more sense than spren, but I have a question. In WoR, the helm Kaladin as a makeshift gauntlet uses up all of his stormlight he is holding by being in contact with him, we also know that the KR wore plate and used surges simultaneously. Do the KR power the armor by their ability to use stormlight or is the armor somehow crafted in a way that only the KR can draw stormlight from it, but only by the individual knight so it does not drain their stormlight?
  8. Kaladin as a combination of Riggs and Murtaugh. Elokhar as Joe Pesci from lethal weapon 2. Syl as Chris Rock from LW 4...
  9. I was initially thinking that it would likely be one of the listeners. In WOR Eshonai's mother tells her the song of the Last Legion, that escaped their forms of power, for the freedom of dull form. This reminded me of how Marsh was controlled by Ruin. I don't think that Brandon would repeat the same plot element by making one of the listeners the champion. It must be one of the human cast members, and I think Elhokar is a good, bet. He sees faces in the mirror and is being haunted by something, I thought initially cryptics, but why would we see another Lightweaver? We haven't really seen two members of the same order yet (except for Ym and Renarin), so maybe these were Odium or one of the Unmade. It is definitely a plot point left up in the air.
  10. The heralds are definitely more than normal people. Brandon has RAFO'd what exactly they are or what their origin is (at least from what I've found), but it is clear that they are not just regular people with honor blades. He has stated that without their blades they cannot wield the powers of surges, but they are capable of other things. Considering that the oathpact was an agreement between Honor and the heralds, and the importance and power given through oaths, my guess is that the heralds have powers granted to them through the oathpact, and possibly their link with Honor.
  11. What if Dalinar's plate and blade were a matched set? It could explain why Dalinar is able to perform the feats he is able to in tWoK, though we don't know what his curse/boon was.
  12. I'm also going to go with 'other' on this one. Whoever is responsible is definitely trying to get Adolin's attention. I definitely think that Renarin may know what is happening, but I don't think the killer is going to be an obvious guess. I think this is going to introduce a new plot line into the story, and I think at the end of this we will find out if Adolin is to become a Radiant or not. I think that this will drive Adolin toward ultimately becoming a radiant or surgebinder at least, but something bad must happen to him first. Every other radiant that we have met is damaged somehow, but not Adolin, so something must happen, and I think its unrelated to the characters we've met so far.
  13. I think that is an interesting way to think about it, it's definitely pay off pattern's nature that makes him difficult to draw. I think it would probably extend to all spren to a certain level of detail. In TWoK, third interlude I believe, there are two ardents trying to measure spren. I think Brandon has said that the spren kind of follow the uncertainty principle. So when Shallan is drawing pattern, she is in the process of studying him, and trying to detail his likeness, which is ever changing, similar to the ardents measuring spren. Urithiru must have some other reason for it to be causing her so much trouble.
  14. Anyone else think that if Adolin is to become a Radiant things are about to get much worse for him? He is like the only character that is not 'broken,' so something very bad must happen to him if he is to become a KR. Maybe the whole reason for the murder of Sadeas is to make him fall and be reborn?
  15. Hi all, I came across Stormlight on audiobooks about 2 years ago and have read through most of Mistborn (almost done), Warbreaker, and Elantris. I have been reading the forum for a while and thought it would be fun to chime in now and again.
