I vote no to fractured guilds.
-
To Mac's rule I vote yes.
-
What's your favourite word that starts with a 'y'?
-
Hello and welcome! Who's your favourite character?
-
yea Considering how easy it is to 'make' stuff anyway, I can't possibly see the effects looting would have on anyone. With the exception of pride if you steal their mascot or something Lets go with what's agreed to in the thread Nohadon posted once we have a consensus. We just need to establish a baseline system for surprise attacks, then we can talk modifications from duuels etc.
-
We all seem to like this @MacThorstenson. I'm delegating the role of writing the rule to you (since it was your idea). Post in when you're done (if that's okay with you). In the meantime we should move on to covering any other topics of discussion that need to be addressed.

That would be past midnight for me so I'll be off by then. Sorry. Stupid time zones. To be prevent abuse, make it so revival is assumed and merely a formality. If they feel that you did poorly, it can be requested that you don't get a revival. SIDE NOTE: revivals and lives (specifically their withholding) can be used as punishment for rule breaking
-
Explain what you mean by this. I'm intrigued
-
Yes. And the other team can celebrate because you can't fight in the war for the next 24? hours
-
I guess my view is that we'll go through lives too quickly. How about a compromise: Your character has three chances to be revived (for some reason. If the med feels you showed courage in the fight? I don't know). Once they burn through them, they're dead and you start a new character. You post your current character in your sig
-
It could also get confusing real fast. Yes, it would be logical in he sense that it would enable realistic consequences. My proposition is you die, then have to be transported back to your HQ to be revived, during which time you are out of commission. But I'm willing to hear other ideas out.
-
The DA's has such good world-building that it makes sense to assassinate them there. If you guys want to make a separate topic from your business one, I'd be okay with that. I'm still against perma-death. How about you die, and then have to get transported back to your HQ where you can be revived?
-
I agree with the HQ bonus idea. There should be less penalty for losing there, and less ability to sneak up on them (maybe they get a heads up PM from the mediator) LA HQ is TBD
-
It adds to the fun. A duel you can decide on terrain and stuff together, but in this case a good assassain would have to wait for the opportunity to strike, choosing a location best suited for them. Eg. Attack in DA, the duel happens in an alley. Otherwise it's just unconnected attack PM's with no relation to guild business. You could still send random attack PM's. But for example if you wanted to defend your Alley from invasion, you could make a stand in the topic and fight them, stipulating that the lose has to leave the alley. I'm just thinking real world applications
-
How about attacks in forums go like this: Victim: blah blah blah darkness Assassain : ha! An assassain breaks through the window to attack you (more in the PM/link to thread) Then they go to the area to do their business
-
I'd go one further and just have the two classes of duel and assassaination, the difference being surprise. Duels are consensual, assassainations are where one person knows in advance (and tells a mediator)
-
Let's do this then and hope Nohadon shows up for the finale.
-
Under no circumstances do I want you being the only unbiased. I'd like to see at least one other candidate before I'll accept you as one (as a precaution). I want to trust you, but am worried about the consequences of betrayal. The best thing to alleviate these feelings would be to know we have another unbiased to share the power. If I know @Nohadon's schedule as well as I think I do, he'll be on in two hours or so.

Hi. I'm here

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Archer replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Storytime! Like any good library, my local library is big. So, I rely on landmarks to find my way around. More specifically, a potted plant. For as long as I can remember, on the shelf parallel to the shelf housing Brandon’s works has been a fern. It's a nice fern, well lit by the nearby window - if it sounds like I've spent a lot of time looking at it, that's because I have. Every time I go to the library, I swing by the S section go see if they've gotten any new books by Brandon. This all changed one fateful day not long ago. Someone (I have yet to find out who) moved the plant. I walked over to the plant, turned right and freaked out. For a fleeting moment I thought they had gotten a dozen new books. But my elation was for not. When I discovered the subterfuge I was disappointed. The end. P. S. The moral of this story is that you shouldn't ever, under any circumstances, move your plants. It only leads to confusion and heartbreak. -
Welcome! I like your username. If you had to live in a castle anywhere is the cosmere, where would you put it?

For counting purposes, you're only part of one guild. If you're a DA and Ghostblood, you count only as the one you choose. If you have persons A, B, C, D, E, F and G and we're counting members here's how it works (example): A is a member of guilds 1, 2 and 3. B is in 1, 2. C and D in 3 E, F in 1. G in 1, 2 To count guilds, we group it as E, F, G are in guild 1, so guild one exists. C, D, A are in 3 so it exists. But guild 2, although it has A, B and G in it doesn't count, because A and G are already counted in other groups. This is to prevent members spamming new groups just to increase their representation. They can still be part of the groups, and acts as rep for different guilds. This won't restrict that. We'll just have to make an exception for the liebrary. I think three is a good number of official members.

Which could play into the assassination set up. When you assassinate, you follow the base rules automatically. That ways there's no negotiation before the act, thus keeping the abruptness element to it.

Done. The definition of spying might need clarification, but that's the gist of it.

Here's my proposal for the agreement, updated with the ideas we've proposed. @Nohadon Edits: I will alter it to accommodate requests. Eg. spying
