@Mason Wheeler and @snipexe You are welcome! I’m glad it worked out for you. I’m going to dress up as Navani at the signing tonight. (The neckline on the red dress with gold trim is too low for the traditional dress so I will still put my red scarf on!) I’ll also be wearing a crown. Please come say hi if you see me at the signing. I’m number 60. I found out out more information about the signing tonight from Tammi the bookstore lady when she was handing out wristbands this morning. The way they have the ballroom setup there will be 1100 seats in the ballroom. They pre-sold 1400 books. The BYU book store received the numbered books in blocks. BYU received numbers 1-200. And then other blocks (like 500 in the 1000 range and 500 in the 3000 range) that is why there was such a gap in book numbers in the pre-orders. Other book stores got other sections/blocks under 1000. (Some in Salt Lake and California) 97 people signed up for the VIP passes and you can’t buy one anymore because they already preordered the food (even if you promise not to eat any food) —we asked! There was some confusion/misunderstanding about the reserved seating for those how have green numbered wristbands. Right now the only reserved seating goes to the people who purchased the VIP pass. Last night while camping we were told by numbers 1-2-3-&-4 (the first 4 in line) that the green numbered wristband people would have reserved seating at the signing but then Tammie said she only might be able to section off some seats for those with Green numbered wristbands because she hadn’t planned on it. So not sure what to expect. I’ve heard that there is already a line to get inside the convention center that opens at 6:45 tonight. I wish I could get down there in line now — but I can’t at the moment. I still need to shower from camping out. And it got cold. Thanks to those strangers from California who ordered pizza for everyone at the camp and for the guys that bought bagels for everyone this morning! And to the guys who saw me struggling to put up my tent who came and helped me and to those who helped me fold it back up this morning. And to Kevin the security guard who kept us all safe! I want a good seat for tonight — but At least I have a wristband @Kalinar you should message me! I have something for you. And here is a link to a picture I will post of some of the people who were there this morning. So great to meet you! @taxilian

We are on 84. If you preordered a book you have an hour to get down here!!!!!!! You get a numbered book and a wristband that will give you priority seating at the party tonight. You don’t have to stand in any other lines. You have to - have to have your order and book number. People are showing up that didn’t preorder and they can’t get a wristband.
-
You will still get your book. You just might not get a “seat” in the convention center. You can still stand in line to get it personalized. You just might not be able to get into the room to hear the reading and group q Q&A. Read that big email I posted earlier on this page Thanks for the info @Ace0003 I’m going to go dig out the sleeping bag.

I’m guessing that you’ve never been pregnant.

Evi & Dalinar’s relationship. I want to know their story. Did they fall in love? What is Evi like? What is causing Dalinar so much pain over the circumstances surrounding Evi’s death? How was Navani involved in Evi’s death and how much does she know about him not being able to recall Evi. Was Navani involved with Dalinar forgetting Evi? I want to learn more about the Nightwatcher Then there is Tarah. I want to hear more about her. There is an untold story there with her and Kaladin. And of course Vivenna. I really want to discover her on my own but then have confirmation that I am correct

@The One Who Connects @Extesian @Erunion Thanks for all your answers. So I guess I need to pay attention to what counts as a human. Good to confirm that Dalinar is human. So that means that Rock & Palona are only part human. Interesting. I hadn’t thought of it that way. I knew Rock could see Spren and that his heritage set him apart but the non-human part didn’t really click. They both seem so human. All of the sudden I feel like I’m watching old StarTrek reruns with so many life forms to be aware of. “Son of the most powerful human”. Human still seems a strange word to use — but I suppose it is coming from Vasher — who isn't considered human. It makes me wonder what is making Dalinar so powerful. Is Gavilar hanging out in the Cognitive or spiritual realm “helping” his brother some how? Giving him an extra push? What does Dalinar have that makes him so powerful? Was it something he did (like give away the black stone necklace) or was it something he just fell into or was born into? I’m way over analyzing that sentence. -
Sorry for the double post. I can’t figure out the formatting for the above email copy. I hope the information is helpful. So I placed two different orders for books. The first order was for 2 books. When I received the Oathbringer Release Pickup Ticket email today it had both my signed book numbers. (Both in the 1000 range, sequential to each other. ) listed a few hours later I received an email for my second order (that I only placed a few days ago) with a book number just below 4000. I’m pretty positive the book numbers were in the emails that were sent out today.

For those who are coming to the party and didn’t get this email because you don’t live in Utah Oathbringer is almost out! View this email in your browser This is Brandon, sending you what is (unfortunately) a form email. You’re getting this because you’re on my list and MailChimp thinks you live in Utah. If I have your location wrong, click the “update my subscription preferences” link at the bottom of the email and set me straight! Also check my events page for other upcoming events. At 10:00 p.m. on November 13th, I will be doing the world’s first signing for my new book, Oathbringer, the third volume in The Stormlight Archive. The BYU Store has a reserved copy for anyone who preordered the book before November 9th. They will have some extra books available, but if you come without previously reserving your copy, you will not be guaranteed a book. Since we've outgrown the space at the BYU Store we are trying something new this year. The BYU Store is still hosting the event, but the venue has changed to the Utah Valley Convention Center in Provo. Wristbands for the Book Release Party are FREE and will be handed out starting at 10:00 am on the NORTH side of the Utah Valley Convention Center. A wristband guarantees you a seat. Limited seating. You may pick up ONE wristband for yourself and ONE wristband for another person. A wristband is not required to attend the event, only to claim a seat. Book Release Party Activities: Character Photo Ops Trivia Games Artist’s tables Badali Jewelry Henna for Charity Art Gallery BYU Store Raffle Prizes Art If you've been dying to get your hands on art from The Stormlight Archive, and the Cosmere at large, many of the artists involved with Oathbringer will be there showing their work, including many original pieces. Artwork by Howard Lyon Steve Argyle Miranda Meeks Ben McSweeney Schedule 8:45 pm - Brandon’s Presentation and Q&A 10:00 pm - Tor Books has given the release party exclusive permission to release the books at midnight in New York! That means 10:00 pm here. We will distribute books and the signing line will begin. Because of the earlier release time, many of the activities will actually continue until midnight. So fans will have something to do while waiting for their line numbers to be called. Camping at BYU For those of you hoping to snag books numbered 1–99, BYU has graciously allowed camping for this book release. See the image below for where you are allowed to camp. IMPORTANT! Numbered wristbands 1–99 will be issued at the camp site at 7:45 am on Monday, November 13th. PLEASE NOTE! All campers must still pre–order their book! We will only give numbered wristbands to the first 99 campers. You must have your barcode as proof of purchase. Your numbered wristband will guarantee you a seat at Brandon’s Presentation and Q&A. Camping Rules: One body equals one line number Check in at the “War Camp” Info Station Cannot leave for more than four hours per day Must sleep overnight Respect BYU’s and others’ property Only use the outlets designated on the map No cords strung across pathways! Vacate Wilkinson Center by their designated hours Quiet Time starts one hour past Wilkinson closing time Be respectful of your fellow campers and BYU staff. If asked to move by the University to another area, please do so. Let’s not create issues for future Stormlight book releases by not cooperating. Personalizations Based on past events, I should be able to personalize everyone’s books, even if it takes until 3:00 a.m. Since all of the books will be pre-signed and numbered, everyone with a reserved copy will get a numbered edition. As I’m local, you can always just come, pick up a book, and leave—then get it personalized at some other signing when things aren’t so crazy. This will probably be a busy event, but it should be very easy to just come, get a pre-signed/numbered book, then buy it and take off without waiting in any lines. Book Release Party Date: Monday, November 13th, 2017 Time: 7:00pm, Doors open at 6:45pm Location:Utah Valley Convention Center 2nd Floor 220 Center St, Provo, UT 84601 Please use the north entrance. Wow! Thank you for that WoB! I think I need to start reading the new WoB — kinda like one would read the encyclopedia! So now the question is . . . What is not human that is on this planet? -
Sounds good. I can drop it off at the Post Office on my way home from the release party (they have a 24-hour self serve kiosk) or I can send it UPS on Tuesday. (My neighbor works there and I can just give it to her to send and then I won't be taking my time away from my reading!!!!!) Just let me know.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

When your sister’s dog “accidentally” has puppies at your house and since they can’t be moved for 8 weeks then you get to take care of puppies for two months. So you get naming rights. The white (assassin) male: Szeth Then you get into an argument with your kids because you want to name the black male Pattern (Stormlight) and they want to name him Alcatraz (the Dark Talent) -

I’d talk to him today and see if you can make arrangements to pick it up at the post office first thing in the morning before he heads out on his route. -
I haven’t been as excited for a release of a book — ever — as I am for Oathbringer. This pre-release business has hyped it for me beyond what could possibly be considered as normal. I’ve loved the progress bar, the slow chapter releases, and the openness from Sanderson. I also loved the first two books — so the stage had been set. Now — could I keep up the hype? Not long term (I mean following these threads could easily be a full time job). I think what it ultimately comes down to is that I’ve enjoyed the discussions of the characters and plots with my family and with the online community as well. Of course, I chose my level of involvement. It was nice to have that option. (No one is forcing me to create a 17th shard account and post every week). I’ve enjoyed this experience very much.

So it would be epic to see what Jasnah could soulcast with unlimited access to investiture (such as during a highstorm) with Kaladin out there “breaking wind” @Steeldancer (he he still laughing at your joke) for her so she would be protected from the storm itself while still being surround by so much Stormlight! Maybe that is how they soulcast some of those cities.

So I am reading random passages/chapters in preparation for OB and just found this Zahel talking to Kaladin about Renarian Powerful Human on this . . . . (Planet) ? Could Vivenna be the most powerful human??? Could Vivenna be Renarian’s mom???? Adolin’s hair is golden!!! I’m really starting to convince myself that Evi is Vivenna. Dalinar ‘s boon/curse is somehow tied to him finding out about who Evi really was. Evi broke his heart. -

When you are typing a text on your phone and you type the letter “v” and voidbringers is the first auto-fill word that pops up. -
I was wondering the same thing. Wouldn’t it be a funny trick if the real hard copy (not the online Tor edition) of the book had the author but Tor erased/deleted the author in the pre-release versions. There are so many things that I just seem to miss that are obvious to everyone else. I hope I’ll be able to figure out the author. As well as Vivenna. I hope I don’t miss her!

I’m looking forward to meeting new spren. Both bonded and regular spren. And the scientific progress in understanding spren. (Fabrials; bonding; fusing;etc) Also I think we learn more about the gemtones listed in the Arcs Arcanum — in OB in was Emerald. WoR Garnet/Blood in think. — but I’m not positive this is a thing.
