This probably should be on the SA board but its perfectly fine. And even after being ninja'd by @Calderis, yes she couldn't summon it instantly because she didn't think she could.

[OB] Speculation on Queen Aesudan?
17th Splinter replied to Sirscott13's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think she's probably involved with at least one of the secret societies, or has some huge destructive secret. Remember that Jasnah was going to have her assassinated in the WoR prologue. -
[OB] The Oathgate Deadzone, and Imminent Horneater Genocide
17th Splinter replied to Yezrien's topic in Stormlight Archive
I don't think we know that it isn't there. I remember a quote from the WoK when Dalinar is talking about traveling to the purelake and asking to go to the center. I believe that they said something along the lines of " why would you want to go there? There is nothing there". And considering that even the purelakers religion involves lying to their "god" I don't trust that. For all we know there could be another Urithiru out there- 42 replies

I think that it could be possible now that we know more about Urithiru. If Nohadon came from the side with the ring of oathgates it might have been possible. We don't know if the is a sheer cliff on every side

@jofwu that looks great! But what do the different colors mean?
-
I don't know. I really like @Steeldancer's idea. One thing that comes to mind is the medallions. They don't seem to have 2or3 different nicrocil stores. They are described as having something along the lines of a band of nicrocil, a band of iron for convenience and a band of brass for warmth. Also with the bands, don't feruchemists have to store different attributes in different metal minds? Like tin feruchemists must use different metal minds for the different senses? So you would need a different nicrosilmind for each type of investiture unless you just simply stored the same thing for everything

I believe that they could. Similarly to Orerseur (sp) making vocal cords on a dog, a kandra should be able to eat a fish and then create gills. If they were to be a fish though they would need to keep the scales. Not sure about a jellyfish however.

[OB] Scenes you wish to see in Oathbringer

Jasnah comes home Kaladin and squires fly off as a group Lift meets Dalinar Szeth comes to Urithiru and/or meets up with Kaladin -
Galling, the little detail that breaks the 2nd era
17th Splinter replied to Beast_c_a_t's topic in Mistborn
It could also simply be that everything was aluminium except for the inside of the barrel. The metal there wouldn't be able to be pushed because it is encased in aluminium, while the other metal could reduce galling. Who knows? maybe the guns had to be fixed/cleaned after a certain number of shots. -
No that was just her useing her Lift-weirdness and using Wyndle's crystals to climb. Since no one can see the crystals it looked like see had no handholds

[OB] [SA3] Missing something: who unlocked it?
17th Splinter replied to Rhaegar'Elin's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think that even Jasnah wasn't sure if the stormseat oathgate was unlocked. She simply didn't have another option. -
I honestly think that Taravangarian will become an ally. He is smart and unless the Diagram says something about Urithiru then he'll probably see some sense. However, even if he tries to assassinate Dalinar, I don't think he'll succeed. Without Szeth he really doesn't have the ability to kill Dalinar easily. An offshoot of this, Szeth dying has probably put a huge wrench in his plans. That plus the Everstorm has hopefully thrown the Diagram out the window.

I think that either no one is using it, or Dalinar has it. An Honorblade would be great for a radient with no shards

I don't think that Renarin has much wrong with his spren. His lack of visible surgebinding could be simply that he is shy and that he hasn't spoken many oaths. Kaladin couldn't use his gravitation surge until he swore the second oath, and it still took him a long time to figure it out. Also we have this quote from the new chapters This to me indicates that Renarin has been lightweaving, just not on screen.

[OB] Will Dalinar's memories come back?
17th Splinter replied to Elena's topic in Stormlight Archive
Could it be possible now that Dalinar has the ability to invest, that the stormlight could heal his memories like Renarin's eyes? -
[OB] The book Oathbringer on Roshar theories.
17th Splinter replied to eveorjoy's topic in Stormlight Archive
I like your reasoning, but I don't think there is definitive proof that it is Jasnah. My personal preference is Dalinar. This Sounds so much like Dalinar. He doesn't care what people think and could have written Oathbringer "because it felt right" (we have seen Dalinar use this exact phrase when talking to Kaladin) despite outside pressures. And this seems could be Jasnah, except she IS a self proclaimed heretic, and "everyone" does not need more "proof". Dalinar seems to be cultivating a reputation with the rest of the world as a "godless heretic", and if he wrote it - being a man - then that would be more grounds to be a heretic. Finally, A common speculation is that Dalinar is one of the main characters to die. The quote above could be talking about that instant. He gets killed, goes to shadesmar, and then is saved. No one would anticipate this. Having this quote be about Jasnah's death would be strange as we have already seen it, and it could be argues that Renarin or any other Truthwatchers had not developed their sight at that time. That said I don't think we can rule out either until we have more information. -
I think that Kaladin is going to suck in some stormlight and escaping Roshone's guards by standing on the ceiling while glowing.

How do we know that? I thought that was Dalinar!

I was just about to bring this up. The light is only described as warm and light. No color at all is mentioned. Also I really like gold for Odium. It kind of seems like odium could be closer to " Gods own divine Wrath" instead of "divine hatred".

Couldn't the Rosharans inability or difficulty to see breath auras be because they aren't as invested? In warbreaker everyone is born with a very large amount of breath right? On Roshar however most people would be little more than drabs. So aura suppression plus largely uninvested people equals no visible aura

When someone says "Miles per hour" and you're confused because they haven't read AoL and LOL happened this week

If Gavilar could write, wouldn't he use to Stromwarden script? We know that Gavilar and Amaram were tight before he died, and we have no evidence that Amaram can use Women's Script so why would Gavilar use it? My thoughts are that Gavilar may have known the Stormwarden script but definitely did not know how to "write"

I spent some time calculating this. I believe the comparisons are this Time. Earth Roshar Hours 60 mins 58.5 mins Days 24 hrs 20 roshar hrs /19.2 earth hrs Years 365 days 500 roshar days/ 400 earth days/ 1.096 earth years This is just math, but I hope you like it
