  1. If anyone ever creates a clown Epic I will come at them with my entire Epic army and every ally they can muster. No Epic clowns.
  2. Dual defensive powers are something we've tried to avoid since it's said to be prof-specific, so I don't know about regen and metal skin even if neither are at High Epic levels.
  3. Hope that Whittle post is ok Kobold, thought I'd give at least one MEE member a small chance of escape
  4. Whittle stood frozen in the doorway to the museum, Stitch disappering down the throat of a creature from another era, another world. And now he was the one receiving the stern gaze of Lightwards the necromancer. Poor Stitch should have known better, if only the idiot had kept his mouth shut. The sound of grinding machinery from below suddenly stopping had informed Whittle of Scrapyards propbable death, the sudden disappearance of Yorricks glowing skulls indicated his. Is C4 Still alive? Oh god what if she blows the museum now while I'm still inside? "3 others, down below." Whittle quickly replied, dropping to one knee and putting his hand to the ground. "One has explosive capabilities, she may try to blow up even part of the museum if she's not stopped." Waiting for the split second where Lightwards gaze flickered away from his face, Whittle launched himself backwards and out of the museums doorway, into a several hundred foot drop before running his hands along his clothes. Form a a parachute, get back to the school, need to get away from the museum if it blows, the shrapnel might even reach the HQ though. No, I just need to get out of town, this whole idea was stupid.
  5. I think it traces intent back to the last person who intentionally or unintentionally set the damaging source in motion, stepping into a bullets path exposes Steelheart to a danger he might not have otherwise been exposed to but the source of danger itself is the person who fired the gun.
  6. Bioterror/Adventurer post up, wherin the Adventurer struggles to understand how romance works.
  7. Bioterror felt a little bit like he imagined a fish felt as it was brought to market, carefully weighed, just moments before it would be gutted and served. The Epic examined him with careful eyes, measuring his worth and usefulness to the city before joining them at the table. “An excellent choice, I think we can all agree. Now, don’t feel reserved to order something from the servants, we have enough luxury to spare. Naturally, those luxuries come from our queen and we serve her for it. I’m sure that we can find something for you in this town but obedience to Lucentia is paramount. You two are aware of this, yes?” I wonder if anyone ever says no to that question? Bioterror idly wondered before nodding his head. "Of course, I just want to have servants who are still alive at the end of the day because I don't need to keep killing them to show them their place. If Lucentia and Astoria can oblige me then I'll do whatever's needed." The Adventurer looked over Lockvaults shoulder, watching the security feeds of the area around the base. Well it seemed the basics were secured for now. They had a base, food, water and now security. But something still felt like it was missing. Some stat felt like it was going ignored. One of the feeds showed a woman walking down the street nearby to the base, holding a handbag clutched closely to her chest and caster her eyes around furtively. Nice, stealing must raise the NPC paranoia levels. Struck by a sudden piece of inspiration, The Adventurer grabbed one of the pistols strewn around the base and shifted him up, shooting a quick "Back soon" in Lockvaults direction. Appearing in a dark alley nearby, the Adventurer tracked the NPC movement on his minimap, he quickly found the woman from earlier, following closely behind her he quickly snagged a flower from a nearby garden, a garden with a giant hole in the middle where a house used to be. Finally catching up to the furtive woman he stepped in front of her, wordlessly presenting the flower to her which had begun to glow with a soft pink light. Looking confused the woman reached out to take the flower before noticing the glow, throwing her handbag at him she turned around to flee the other way. Brushing her back with his fingers, the Adventurer shifted himself through her and into her path, catching the fleeing woman as she collided with him. "You're very attractive" He told her, their faces close together as he stared seriously into her eyes and leant in- The woman screamed. "What the hell?" He said, dropping her suddenly and turning around. "What kind of game doesn't have any romance mechanics?" Shifting his way back into the base he collapsed into a nearby armchair. "Ah well, I'll work it out sooner or later, maybe it's a player-player thing..."
  8. I have noticed a few random downvotes here and there too, I try not to pay too much mind to them and just enjoy the upvotes and souls containing useful powers from others.
  9. Does anyone need me to post anyone? I'm trying to work out who's up in the MoNA battle, I don't think I need to post as anyone but not sure.
  10. No we didn't, it probably won't turn into a proper attack but arena fights will start up as soon as the bar scene is over, I'll skip to the next day with a matchup and then anyone can write their own matches, I can provide enemies if needed or you can organize matches with other players.
  11. Savannah looked towards the flying Epic, quickly becoming used to the high concentration of Epics that Salem was home to he'd barely batted an eye at the dramatic entrance. As she hovered her way towards the table Savannah set down his drink, his eyes steadily changing colour as he began his transformation. He would show this Epic how to behave in public, he'd bound across the table in an instant, claws reaching for the jugular and- Brighthead, uncharacteristically co-ordinated for a moment reached across the table to grab a hold of Savannah's arm before briefly shaking his head. Taking the hint, Savannah released his transformation, eyes returning to normal. Right, no fighting, no killing, no causing disturbances. Savannah did not know what exactly Soulcaster did to people who broke his rules but he'd heard stories, the least of which were enough to keep him from trying anything even remotely rebellious in town. The door opened once more, a pair entered, the one in the lead quickly scanning the bar before locking eyes on the metal-manipulating newcomer. Town enforcement then. Savannah noted someone must have tripped an alarm or something. Suddenly glad that Brighthead had stopped him from transforming and attacking the Epic, Savannah leant back into his chair, draining his drink. "Well, it's been fun gents but I'm off to rest for tomorrows match. Enjoy your drinks." Excusing himself, Savannah left the table, drawing a small stream of water into himself to rehydrate. I'd hate to think of what would happen if I showed up hungover tomorrow.
  12. No problems I kind of like it when things don't go as planned, means I'm being as surprised by the story as everyone which makes it more enjoyable
  13. I'm trying to figure out what should happen next in the bar, I honestly just expected it to be one or two Epics having a drunken chat, not someone scaring all of the patrons followed by a full on Mouldbreaker inquisition.
  14. I suggest that Soulcaster and Coppercloud find themselves becoming inexplicably compelled to hang out when they learn eachothers names I like all of them, one of our first deliberate Meta Epics since their confirmation too They're welcome in Salem.
  15. The only test is whether or not you can find the post button I'm hoping to wrap up the bar scene soon and start the arena matches.
  16. I have an Epic whose power is to make other people speak in thick accents? Sure, Salem is hopefully going to be pretty non-commital in terms of time constraints, players can just post their arena fighs when they have the time and have as much downtime between fights as needed. Having an army of gifted Vanillas enter the arena with him might be a problem, but Soulcaster would also probably try to arrange fights between gifters so it could definitely work.
  17. I'd say that that would be the limitation on mental illusionists, Brandon recently said that mind controllers tend to do things subtly, I imagine the same restriction applies to mental illusionists so they simply couldn't create an illusion that broke with their targets perception of reality too much. But again its not impossible, people do have hallucinations like that in the real world and they don't always spend the rest of their life believing that they're 30 feet further back than they are, I imagine they'd just have altered memories. Instead of believing they're currently in a different position they'd believe that they were in a different position. Steelheart could also probably fly his way out, or perhaps since he'd not believe he could be stopped by a cage and this is a power that works on the mind he might just break the illusion. Funtimes can literally create whatever objects she wants to give her functionally unlimited powers if she wants so again, not to unusual and again he wouldn't actually have those powers, he could just make people believe he did. He could make people think he'd just caused an earthquake but the buildings wouldn't actually be shaken in any way so it's not as useful as an Epic who actually could cause an earthquake.
  18. Might do, depends on how exactly mental illusions work. IRL hallucinations are sometimes manifested like that, sometimes not so it may vary from Epic to Epic.
  19. Again, both of those are senses so I'd say yes they should be able to be manipulated, particularly by mental illusionists, in real life many people suffer from such hallucinations.
  20. As the hallucination becomes less relevant the brain reverts its perception, perhaps believing that it's lowering its arm while its actually remaining still until the real and hallucinatory arm are in the same position. That said, proprioception (The ability to sense where your limbs are) is a sense and so should be able to be affected by illusionists even directly if necessary. Only with a particularly powerful illusionist who can create permanent mental hallucinations which given the recent AMA seems unlikely to be able to easily affect High Epics so I don't really see the problem here, there are plenty of more powerful abilities. Lucentia could literally imprison someone in an unbreakable cage, why couldn't an illusionist just mentally do the same?
  21. Harmony also has conflicting and non-intervening Intents to deal with so he'd have a hard time confronting Odium.
  22. What do you consider to be the most underrated fruit?
  23. My understanding is that that's generally how most hallucinations work, the halucinatee doesn't notice the oddities even if they try to touch the hallucination, the mind can compensate for almost anything if it needs to. It could only trap them mentally, they'd be fully capable of being dragged out by anyone else or otherwise being moved.
  24. Most people don't notice small things like leaves hitting walls and the sound they make but yes that's generally a problem. Though I don't think it applies to a mental illusionist, I imagine their power would be more like 'you think there's a wall there' and his target would believe it, their mind filling in the details.
