  1. Congrats! Gotta love those deals
  2. A gravelly voice springs forth from a fissure in front of you, seeming to come from the very earth itself. "Because RPs are awesome. Assimilate or perish! Join uuuuuuusssssss!" A small dog then crawls out of the fissure, evidently it is the source of the voice, it trots over to the candy-tears of the elephant and begins to lap them up.
  3. Just another friendly reminder to all that there's a few open spots in the Wastelands for anyone who has the time, we'll probably be slowing the time-ratio now that we have a decreased player base and it's always open to discussion if someone doesn't quite think they can post frequently enough.
  4. A mysterious shadow stretched over the ground, a dark figure in its center revolved slowly as he appeared from the ground. He walked over and promptly exploded. You notice a faint whiff of taco-sauce coming from the charred ground upon which he stood.
  5. Day 2 Adelaide Severance poured over the first days reports from the various recon teams. The team sent to Darwin hadn't made their report yet, so they'd either been captured or had to lay low for now. Well they'd suspected Darwin had some kind of spying Epic so that wasn't the biggest surprise. The Tribourne report was about as expected, the Triumvirate were still tenuous allies at best, they were going to try to make contact with Laserbolt tonight, sending the Immortal to meet with her and discuss an alliance to rid her of her competition. The alliance wouldn't last, Epics just didn't like sharing, even Necropathy would one doubt try to seize sole control over Adelaide, either trying to kill Severance or to erode his power base away. But still, perhaps they could ally with Laserbolt long enough to get the information they needed to get a foothold in the east coast. Apollo was still ruling Sydney it seemed, Necropathy wouldn't like to hear that, a rival healing gifter was trouble if their armies clashed it wouldn't end well, two immortal forces fighting until one side withdrew. And neither side would want to withdraw. Canberra hadn't sent a full report in yet either, only some brief notes on the newest Epics to seize the city and that they thought they might be being tracked. Rubbing his temples as his eyes began to strain, Severance gestured a nearby soldier over. "Fax these to the usual place." He instructed. None of the soldiers knew where the copies of these reports went, they weren't supposed to. Knowledge of the island had to be kept in the highest levels of secrecy if it was to maintain its usefulness. Someday they could dispatch with these tricks and the trio of intelligence-gathering Epics would be able to be contacted more openly but for now, the risk that someone else would be able to steal their intel was too high.
  6. On the subject of guilt: I don't feel guilty about the murder, the rights abuse or the stolen generation, those were all absolutely horrible things but I didn't do anything to suggest any support of them. My problem lies more in the fact that I live on land that was stolen. That stolen land was then 'sold' to someone who eventually rented it out to me but by paying these people for the land instead of the rightful and original owners I'm implicitly supporting the premise that it was the settlers to sell or rent out. Then there's the fact that our society still has so many horrible stereotypes about the local aboriginals and those stereotypes along with decreased opportunity and a host of other assorted problems cause many problems for the Aboriginals and those of Torres Straight descent. They have an incredibly high suicide rate (My best friend was half Torres-straight and ended up taking his life so that's a particularly personal point) a very low education graduation rate, a host of medical problems and just a generally worse lifestyle than they should have. So the whole justification for invading, murdering and stealing land from the aboriginals is also a complete lie because they're far worse off under the influence of western society than they were before hand. For every one saved by western medicine when they would have died earlier there's a dozen who are working in terrible jobs to earn a lower income, suffer from depression, are homeless or have died.
  7. This is my take on the subject too, perhaps it could be used to control a KR who has lost/killed their spren though.
  8. Added you to our list of Denziens. Welcome to the Dark Alley! If you need any special research materials Fatebreaker's usually got some, bathrooms are on the seventh dimension of the odd numbered Alleys. Also the sixth Tuesday of every month is wacky-tacky-tie-Tuesday.
  9. Have you seen the Questions threads for the Reckoners RP? We have nearly 2000 pages of randomness
  10. I do more of an awkward furtive glance to see if they recognize me and then if they do I do this sort of nervous twitch all over that looks like I'm having a stroke. Then I usually fall over. Have I mentioned I'm not great at socializing?
  11. Well if that's all that you get for now at least it gives you the experience as a stepping stone and then you have to deal with her slightly less often. Good-luck thoughts sent your way for other jobs to come through though.
  12. If you'd read through the questions threads enough you'd know that the monocle was never really in doubt
  13. Didn't mean to imply that we alone have a horrible history of horrible treatment of native culture, we're all equally the products of horrible europeans culturally raping everyone they came across! Oh dear, now I made myself sad. Hey look, penguins still allowed to love each other and have their own culture!
  14. It's even worse when you add the cultural guilt of still living on the land that was stolen. If you can somehow imagine something so horrible being worse. Which made a lot of us think we might actually be going a step in the right direction for making ammends for all the absolutely horrible things that happened. Too bad our next PM was a racist idiot. (And a hypocrite on top of that, demanding that we stop all incoming refugee boats coming to Australia because 'it's not everyones place to come to Australia.' despite no refugees being more dangerous to the real Australians than the ones who already live here.) his biggest cultural innovation was bringing back the tradition of Australian knighthood and knighting prince Philip.
  15. You monster! It's one of the best pasta sauces!
  16. For the interested I'm actually 22 (I think, I tend to lose track) Reminded me of an old picture of mine dreaming
  17. Probably worse. Obvious to a medical professional I'd say, not too obvious to anyone else since she's trying to cover it up mostly. The constant checking of her phone to tell what he's saying would also be a bit of a giveaway to anyone observant. Fixed for accuracy.
  18. Impact post up, wherein I try very hard to not give Baxter any reason to annoy her so she doesn't have a reason to decimate another building full of sick people.
  19. Impact landed softly in a dark alley, near to where she had first been separated from Megan. Her mind was slowly clearing as her painkillers wore off but the medication-produced haze over her mind was replaced by an equally distracting and far more annoying constant stream of pain. The wound where she'd been stabbed seemed okay, she had a local anesthetic that could keep it numb without muddling her mind but her Calamity-cursed ears were sending constant waves of pain through her skull. Deciding that more pain would be far more annoying than slightly muddled thinking she popped two of the pills she'd kept from the hospital out of their packet and swallowed them. But for now I need to make the most out of this lucidity. She still doubted she'd be capable of walking much so sh simply glided through the alley at a steady pace before darting across the open road and hoping no one had seen her. She'd managed to avoid too much suspicion so far but she'd entered the busier part of town and the number of eyes that could see her hovering form had increased dramatically. She slipped around the back of a building, keeping an eye on her phone for any sign of noise she lifted herself up to a window, which thankfully was already open, and managed to slowly maneuver her way through into the room beyond. The rooms occupant was sleeping thankfully, his arms were both in slings and she could have easily overpowered him even if they weren't but it was better not to make too much mess just yet. Although the slontze is using the only bed here, maybe if I just nudged him off but tried to keep him alive? No, a bed's not a good position anyway. She floated towards one of the rooms chairs instead, easing herself slowly into it she finally managed to support herself rather than using her powers to do so. It was effective but if she became addled again and pushed just a little too hard she could easily dash herself against the roof by accident. She folded her hands on her lap and waited, the doctor hadn't seemed to be in when she'd checked at the other windows but with patients in such bad shape someone had to come check on them soon. The minutes passed in silence as her pain slowly eased up, becoming if not quite completely absent then at least tolerable for now. Her phone finally showed signs of noise nearby, a patient just moving around? No, it was getting louder, someone moving steadily closer, finally they were close enough for the sounds they were making to register, the application doing its best to convert them to speech. It seemed the doctor was back and checking on some of his patients. The handle of her room's door finally began to turn. "Good day doctor." Impact said softly, wary of straining her throat or letting her weakness come through in her voice. But many Epics chose to adopt the creepy soft-spoken theme, it wouldn't be too unusual. "I have a few matters that need seeing to before the rest of your patients, and please don't make a big fuss about it, I just had to empty one hospital of patients I'd rather not empty another."
  20. It's just this stupid paranoia I have that I'll lose the one thing that actually helps a bit, I take 1 script maybe once every 6 months so I know there's no way that could be recognized as being a junkie or anything it's just this stupid remnant of my anxiety that won't go away. But feeling better now and exams are over so it doesn't really matter if it makes me a bit groggy either I can just enjoy not being in pain. Me too, now I can focus on what really matters. Making insane WHOOCs of the redeemed ladies of Oregon kicking some annoying Epic butt.
  21. So got payed today which meant I could make an appointment with the doctors and they didn't kick me out for drug seeking because surprisingly most doctors upon hearing that someone has a chronic pain problem don't immediately think they're lying and kick them out, they actually listen and try to help. So long story short, problem sorted and I can stop hyperventilating.
  22. Unless she wanted to join his church
  23. Can anyone think of a way to guarantee this? I mean obviously castrating Nighthound but I feel like so many people would have tried that by now that we'd know if it worked.
  24. Also just for fun I've changed my profile to reflect my inner-age since I'm one hip-replacement away from being 80 years old
  25. Oh yeah. Guess I blocked that memory out for fear of the future. There is only one safe method of recourse. My friends, we must completely and utterly destroy Oregon.
