  1. You're not alone at all. While I love both the Wheel of Time and Brandon's other books, and would recommend them both to anyone interested in fantasy, I prefer Brandon's books over Robert Jordan's, and I think Brandon enjoys his books more than Robert Jordan's as well. I read the blog posts of him trying to write a WoT book AND the first Stormlight Archive book very close to each other, and it sounded exhausting. I'm happy that Brandon finished it so he has a load off his back, but I'm also happy for the Cosmere fan that will get more books of Brandon's now.
  2. Both of these books look amazing, and I believe 2013 will be a good fantasy novel year.
  3. I know this is a bit early to think about this, and if it did happen it would be a LONG time from now, but what do people think of the idea of a bridge series between the modern trilogy and future trilogy of Mistborn, similar to the Alloy of Law series. I think this would be a great series idea, but would like to know what you think.
  4. I wouldn't mind a 17S blog, as it would reach out to more people. Personally, I think a Cosmere fan should be a Sharder or Shardling, just because it seems to fit. EDIT: I think I know why people may be scared of 17S. In my own personal experience, when I first came here, I saw a BUNCH of theories about the Cosmere that I didn't know much about. I didn't go into the theories for a while until I learned more. I think the Shardcast episodes have helped greatly with this, but that was my experience when I first came here.
  5. This is the hardest choice I have ever had to make. I'm going with the Stormlight Archive Book 2, mainly because it is the next cosmere book coming out.
  6. When he said standalone, I think he meant separate from the Cosmere books, not meaning only one book
  7. Thanks. It looks just as good as the Cosmere books, so I will definitely get this book
  8. So, is the Rithamist part of the Cosmere, or a separate book series? I will be sure to pick up a copy either way, but I'd like to know the context of this book.
  9. I agree. Crossroads of Twilight is not my favorite book, but I don't consider it a terrible book either.
  10. I find it funny how Brandon said he's always loved video games ever since he bought a Nintendo, and the new Mistborn game will not be on a Nintendo system.
  11. If we could time travel, I wouldn't stop at book 2. I would get the whole cosmere collection. THAT would make time travel worth it.
  12. On Brandon Sanderson's website, it shows that he has now started the prewriting for Stormlight Archive 2.
  13. The book doesn't come out until January. I understand that you may be forced to stop in October, but I wanted to just point out the date unless you were mistaken.
  14. A Memory of Light is (for the most part) DONE!!!
  15. Just finished the Eye of the World.
  16. I'd just like to make clear that I will still read New Spring, but it may be after A Memory of Light if I don't have the time.
  17. I've played Mafia, but never online with text. It sounds like fun and I'm willing to give it a try.
  18. This is just my first reread and I agree with you totally.
  19. If I have time, I'll try to read New Spring, but 13 other books have to come first.
  20. Count me in. This is a great idea
  21. Wow. Even if it's not official, it still sounds cool
  22. A Memory of Light is 15% done on its last draft! It looks like it's almost done, so I wonder if the release will get pushed up any.
  23. Even without the god metal, it still looks amazing.
  24. I noticed that as well. But with 13 books, I guess everyone has their own preference.
  25. This is a great idea. My question is: Do you think that Brandon Sanderson will connect the series in the Cosmere more than he's done now? An example would be traveling between the planets of the Cosmere and meeting other people we already know.
