Well, I said the fire from a bunch of burning logs or coal, not specifically WITH the logs/coal. So, that'd get rid of the ash, at least. But, yes, lots of fire.

Actually, all non-sight senses benefit. Scent for tracking and taste could possibly alert them in advance to impurities in metal they're about to consume.
The hardcover won't be out until all the forumites and Crafty folk fix the first round of typos and corrections. I have the PDF with an order in for the hardcover, but it's looking like a few weeks to a couple months?

Also, mine is nick-O-miss. When I made the username long long ago I didn't realize that it's apparently a real name somewhere in the world, but I think I pronounce it differently. Also, while Nik is an acceptable shorthand, Nick isn't my name.
That was actually something that had to get a tweak between first digital release and the current build. (Yes, I'm also helping catch the bugs, woo. You'll notice the same account name here and on the crafty forums.)
I would like to announce that I just finished the story of Final Fantasy XIII just in time for the sequel to come out in 4 days. Now, granted, not 100% complete (post-story stuff, woo?), but finished enough that I won't feel guilty immediately buying the sequel!
