  1. I might get some crap for this but I read Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb and the whole book is a total blur of boredom. I had just finished Oathbringer, maybe that's what my problem was.
  2. Placeholder dates are a common thing. I'm not saying I'm not as excited as everyone else but I don't take those to be exact.
  3. Looks like the Starsight UK cover has been revealed with a release date of: November 26, 2019. Synopsis: All her life, Spensa has dreamed of becoming a pilot. Of proving she's a hero like her father. She made it to the sky, but the truths she learned about her father were crushing.Spensa is sure there's more to the story. And she's sure that whatever happened to her father in his starship could happen to her. When she made it outside the protective shell of her planet, she heard the stars--and it was terrifying. Everything Spensa has been taught about her world is a lie. But Spensa also discovered a few other things about herself--and she'll travel to the end of the galaxy to save humankind if she needs to.
  4. Don't mean to be a downer but Waterstones also has The Lost Metal for 15.10.20 which seems to just be a placeholder date for future novels, I guess there's no guarantee. I'd like to think it's getting released but that's just a lottery these days now.
  5. Well hi! Things are never simple in the Cosmere
  6. Welcome Duglis!! What was your favourite part of Elantris? Have you read the other books? The GraphicAudio versions are very well done!
  7. There's always another secret, my friend
  8. I don't think that OVERHYPED is the word. I can get people's understanding that he produces a lot of work that might not be on par with those that produce less work but he has a fantastic work ethic with a mind full of imaginative ideas. He's still really at the early stages of his career, sure he has a massive fanbase who are totally committed but I think we can agree that he's still learning and may, arguably, be placed on a pedestal. Watching that video does not take away the fact he has been, and will continue to be, my favourite author and the points made are refutable but it's a far way to say he is perfect and we can also agree that there are some points that needs worked on. It's all a part of the journey!
  9. I'm not really sure but that's probably the closest I'd imagine. I've checked Amazon US rating and it states 13+, if that helps?
  10. Oh right, sorry. I'm in the UK, its currently a 12A rating. Some slight swearing and blood.
  11. Don't know where you're from but it's so so British! David Tennant and Michael Sheen steal the show, obviously, but it's a good adaptation. I enjoyed it, it's a fun watch and it's good for an Amazon show, the setting looks pretty gorgeous.
  12. I've never known so little about a game the more some information is released. It looks bewildering and spectacular at the same time
  13. Luckily those are very short reads so would be easy enough!
  14. I think i'll be giving it a shot after Oathbringer which should hopefully be wrapped up shortly. I probably won't even bother with the companion, probably the completionist in me going crazy. Yeah, I've heard reading it at the start can take away some surprises so i'll wait until later in the series!
  15. Now I've got the idea of Mr T from the A Team being Odium. "I pity the fool who does not see me as the most dangerous of the sixteen!"
  16. Hi Eliot!! Great to see you've read so many works, hopefully you can provide some insight/theories/discussion on the forums but feel free to ask any questions you may have and join in! Ursula Le Guin's Earthsea got me into fantasy at the start. Wizard of Earthsea is such a short book compared to Brandon but the novels are exciting. Way of Kings was also a slow burn but once I got going, I couldn't stop!
  17. Well I can't think of any other book about talking bunnies!
  18. You'll get there eventually. I wish I was reading them for the first time am again!
  19. Death Stranding is an upcoming action game developed by Kojima Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment exclusively for Playstation 4. It is the first game from director Hideo Kojima and his reformed development studio after their disbandment from Konami in 2015. The game was announced at E3 2016 and is set to be released on November 8th, 2019. The game's title is a reference to the cetacean stranding phenomenon. Cast: Norman Reedus as Sam Porter Bridges Mads Mikkelson as Cliff Léa Seydoux as Fragile Margaret Qualley as Mama Guillermo Del Toro as Deadman Nicolas Winding Refn as Heartman Tommie Earl Jenkins as Die-Hardman Troy Baker as Higgs Lindsay Wagner as Amelie Synopsis: "People have created "Walls" and become accustomed to living in isolation. Death Stranding is a completely new type of action game, where the goal of the player is to reconnect isolated cities and a fragmented society. It is created so that all elements, including the story and gameplay, are bound together by the theme of the "Strand" or connection. As Sam Porter Bridges, you will attempt to bridge the divides in society, and in doing create new bonds or "Strands" with other players around the globe. Through your experience playing the game, I hope you'll come to understand the true importance of forging connections with others." — Hideo Kojima
  20. That's the Sanderlanche! He likes to dump a LOT of information into the end and that's where most of the question's come from. I'm attempting to finish Mistborn before I move not Stormlight and Warbreaker now. I've read White Sand, Elantris and any accompanying stories. After finishing Secret History all I will have left is Warbreaker, Way of Kings, Words of Radiance, Edgedancer and Oathbringer. And what ever Arcanum stories I missed.
  21. `I don't know if he have any existing explanation for Nala giving Szeth nightblood, or even how Nale got this.
  22. I want to be able to get through to the very end, I'm a fan of the story and my grandad gave me Eye of the World before he passed so it's really for him (though I'm a massive Fantasy fan myself. I've read up to book 3/4 but I ended up reading the Cosmere again because people kept mentioning a slog through the later books. I have New Spring so might wait until the very end to get that sorted but was hoping to Companion Book would have further insight after each book. I don't want to spoil too much before I've even started.
  23. I'm going to see it anyway but heard good things about Edgarton. Good to see they aren't Disney-ing and removing the more mature aspects of his like.
  24. Thread to chat about the late Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman's wonderful book: Good Omens Set in 2018, the series follows the demon Crowley (Tennant) and the angel Aziraphale (Sheen), who, being accustomed to life on Earth, seek to prevent the coming of the antichrist and with it the final battle between Heaven and Hell.
  25. I'll watch the movie. Detective Pikachu was a diamond in the rough and although I wasn't actually bothered by Sonic's appearance, I'm glad that the rest of the world thought otherwise and they are going ahead with it. I'd much rather see a Sonic that has been worked on longer than a half-arsed movie trying to jump on the video game movie bandwagon.
