  1. @Kaymyth @maxal The thing here normally I'm not at the campuses, kind of secluded in my own area where there's just one small fridge for two people, and this is the first time it's ever happened to me. Also I sometimes do stuff that requires the freezer segment, the campuses can have pretty nasty freezers where it's iced over with brown ice!, so I usually have no choice when I'm there for the summer. @Sunbird Okay, that's actually hilarious and reminds me a bit of my dad. Me and my mom have to get food for him when he's in town, he's a truck driver, and if we don't he eats everything. He stopped for a while after I had gotten jelly babies for the first time and told him it had strawberry juice made in them, and he claims to be allergic to them and the only thing he said about them was that it tasted funny so I'm not sure how allergic he is to them.
  2. As the title says
  3. I was listening to the Final Fantasy Prelude... all of them!
  4. a way to make fidget spinners relaxing and useful!
  5. Had the weirdest, but funniest, thought while barcoding some books yesterday. There's one book for kindergarten featuring kids playing together. When you open it up the picture on the title page has a girl sitting on a giant exercise ball. The face she's making looks like she's saying "Watch as I fill this ball with my farts!"
  6. What made this worse is how there was maybe a couple other items in the fridge so no one was really using it which makes you wonder even more why they were rummaging in the fridge in the first place!
  7. Quick question: What kind of jerk goes around eating other people's food???!!! I had a couple of these premade smuckers pb&j sandwiches and someone ate one. Who does that anyway???
  8. I see it as a playful burn/shade at Rothfuss since I think they're friends.
  9. It's kind of amazing when you put it in the least amount of books we've got two doorstoppers and a short novel before Oversleep can really get into the Dark Tower.
  10. @Oversleep I agree with @AngelEy3 on the Flagg books, but I'd maybe add Salem's Lot to understand Father Callahan's story since he's in the Warbreaker situation. Outside of those everything is more supplemental to every other book while also having some other books being supplemental to understanding some things in DK, like the Men in Yellow that pop up later on. But the supplemental books are more in the Elantris example you put.
  11. Why just one day to celebrate southpaws?
  12. I would've loved to see an official Mistborn game, maybe with Allomancy done similar to the gameplay of Assassin's Creed with some changes for accuracy sake. Maybe Team Sanderson could try getting Telltale Games to make a game since they make some good games based off of stuff from Fables to Guardians of the Galaxy to even Minecraft. I'm sure they would do Mistborn justice, especially if they have a fan on the team.
  13. People getting confused by names that aren't names is something that happens, like people call Princess Aurora Sleeping Beauty and Rapunzel Tangled. Also if your mom really paid attention she could've named you Serena!
  14. When you're barcoding some books and notice the authors name is Sula. Galladon you have ruined me!!!
  15. I read the books a few years back. The crossovers tend to get on the small and big end. One character who shows up for the last three is a major character from Salem's Lot and another one comes from, I might be wrong, the ones co-authored with Peter Straub. There are references all over the place, like psychics that are practically similar to Carrie and Charlie from Firestarter, to Randell Flagg to the Crimson King, one character who's true appearance is described similar to Pennywise's true form, the fourth book is in the Topeka of The Stand. But despite the references I have listed here, there's a lot more I didn't put in because I don't remember them all, you can still enjoy the books without really needing to read King's other books, but if I had to recommend some I would say read Salem's Lot before the fifth book and read one with Flagg at some point to really know what he's like, otherwise the references are there just for the observant reader. Heck I haven't read all the books that do get referenced and I still enjoyed the series. If I had to compare anything here to the Cosmere, it's deeper than the connection between Warbreaker and Stormlight but at the same time like the different references to the other worlds that get thrown in. Hope that helps.
  16. I get them through Shout! Factory who are pretty good with quality control and the credit stuff shows the only other hand in the cookie jar is Toei themselves so the dub is done the way they want it seems, just using whatever name changes were done in the show years ago. I like how on the covers they add a secondary color for the subtitle. So far it's grey and orange (Reunion) and green and purple. I'm wondering what secondary color will be done for Confession since that one is yellow, same for Loss (red) and Symbiosis (Pink). I'm wondering when Toei will reveal the title of the final part, what color the poster will be and which digidestined and Digimon will be on it.
  17. So your name is Usagi? I like Jupiter as well since she's tough but sweet. Heck I love all the Inner Senshi! Angela is one awesome character since she's just weird and unpredictable. Mulan, definitely one of the most awesome characters from a fairy tale. I actually have read the original poem years ago and it makes you wonder how no one ever figured out the truth.
  18. I've dealt with delivery guys who were angry at the fact we don't have a dock, our warehouse is in a strip mall type building, and they try to avoid having to drop pallets inside like they're supposed to do. And we can't even complain because everyone in admin is in denial that there could ever be anything wrong in their 'perfect' school. If someone does complain then they don't last long.
  19. I've ordered a few times and when it's in the Dallas area packages go to the USPS distribution center in Dallas and then to the town it's for. It makes me wonder if someone at the center sent it to the main post office in Mesquite by mistake or something. But it's strange how mail works. A couple years back I had a few defective DVDs, they would continually skip and refuse to show scenes, and it took two months to get them sent from the place in Kentucky. At the same time I had ordered some audios from Big Finish, a company in England, and I got those within a couple weeks. Even ordering Japanese kit kats took a month to get. It makes you wonder why domestic takes longer than international. But the worst package delay I got was from my girlfriend in Denmark where she sent me a few little things for Christmas. It arrived in February. Talk about late! But I still appreciated the things she got for me even if they were pretty much just kiddy things like a Danish reading book for kindergarten and a string of Danish flags.
  20. Jason's an okay character to me. It does get dumb when he and Percy are turned into rivals for a while because both 'have to prove to be the better leader' which doesn't really go anywhere except to have in-team tension. I found Percy's team from Son of Neptune better written on their stories, one even has a history with the mcguffin of the book and she was my favorite of the new heroes. I guess I just don't find Hephaestus kids interesting since he tries too hard to be liked, has pyrophobia (which sucks for a blacksmith) and focuses a lot on his machines more than his teammates because he thinks he's the odd man out by not having a girlfriend. So not looking forward to The Dark Prophecy since he's one of the main characters helping Apollo in his quest.
  21. You get less POV from Jason as the books go on. Son of Neptune is Percy's book along with two great Roman characters. The last three is a combo POV from everyone involved in the plot from Annabeth to Nico to Piper, but I don't think we really get into Jason's head again after the first book. You actually liked Leo? I found him annoying.
  22. And do you understand them? The delivery got delayed by a day, for some reason the tracker showed it going to Mesquite (a town just east of Dallas) so it's being delivered today. Never had any previous deliveries go to Mesquite before so it was weird watching the tracker.
  23. How long did those 14 books get from what you saw? Japan is also pretty bad since I've heard they don't like publishing anything longer than 300 pages.
  24. Where do you work!? At least the dock guys helped towards the end. I work for a school in the textbook department and it's only me and my mom doing everything there. We can't get anyone to help us and no one volunteers to help at all, and yet they have time to sit around on their phones!? The people at admin buy stuff last minute instead of ordering it before school ends so we have to rush trying to get all the stuff inventoried while trying to get the beginning of year inventory started along with any stupid stuff everyone else thinks needs to be done by us (like moving furniture! That's maintenance, not us, that should be doing that!!!) The total time to try getting all this done? About a month and a half! Sounds like enough time but when you've got four campuses, having to work around the maintenance guys schedules, having to do other miscellaneous stuff that involves us (like the technology since we work close with them to keep track of everything), admin practically forcing campuses to shut down for the day by 3 and them wanting everything done now! we have to work weekends just to do everything before school starts, which at this point is just over two weeks! Every year they somehow find a way to make our job harder to finish to the point of wanting to quit. I'm thinking this year will have to be my last since I can't take it anymore!!!!!!
  25. just watched this. I loved watching Fantasmic! as a kid and still love it. I try to watch it whenever I'm home for Christmas. Now I can't watch this version anymore since they updated it with the reopening of the River. Instead of Peter Pan we now have Jack Sparrow, instead of Pinocchio we now have Genie, instead of Snow and her prince we now have Rapunzel and Flynn and there's no more Queen.
