Not me but my mother is having one. Yesterday she was called into a meeting at work and for this school year they are transferring her to the high school campus. Whenever someone gets transferred to a campus like that it usually means they are on the way out. Pretty much they’re telling her they want her gone without telling her that’s what they want. When she had follow up questions, all involving me like if I’m being transferred or not, it was met with “good question, we’ll get back with you”. They also didn’t want her to tell me but she was livid with them. If I get pulled into a meeting and they want me at a campus I’ll tell them that I’m not interested in being at the campuses full time and if they force me then this will be my notice to find a replacement.

Anyone still trying to figure their status out? I’m for sure asexual but the romance side is the part I keep struggling with. I’m not really heteroromantic, homoromantic, biromantic or aromantic and I’m not sure which of panromantic, demiromantic or grey romantic fit best for me since the meanings are so similar. Like I’m more interested in women for romance but if a man happens to be the one for me I’ll go with him since I’d rather be with someone who I’ll be happy with than being with a gender preference and being miserable.

It’s a shame when you try everything you can think of and still can’t make it work. I can’t imagine getting a dog and having to come to the conclusion of taking it to a shelter. Have you tried any of the techniques from It’s Me Or The Dog? Victoria Stilwell, the host/trainer, has done a few episodes where dogs had aggressive tendencies and showed the owners how to mitigate or get rid of them. Sometimes it required hours just for one part before she moved onto the nest step.

I think it was referring to winter sport skiing. Water skiing I think was part of the marina category. If it was including the water version I would think Florida would’ve ranked a lot higher then.

Not really bad but more of a “huh?! Seriously!” moment. On the news this morning they were talking about a website that calculated the funness of each state. The woman presenting it was happy that Texas made #8 but upset that California, Florida and New York ranked higher. That’s not the part that made me go seriously. I found the one they mentioned and saw the sub-categories and the one that got me was the Variety of Entertainment, Arts and Recreation category. California was dead last while Maine was first. I mean Maine is nice but California isn’t exactly in short supply of theme parks, theaters (movie and theatre), recreation, zoos, surfing and anything else that would be under this umbrella. I even showed a coworker who’s more recreational than entertainment and even he thought it weird that California was in last place. To make this lighter some of the categories were actually funny like ranking marinas and seeing New Mexico last (there’s no water so why is it counted), and for ski facilities Florida ranked higher than Kentucky! In the restaurant category you can dine happy in California, New York, Florida l, Texas and Illinois but starve in North Dakota! I really want to know how these people got their numbers since they don’t make sense half the time.

Since Vax could be a place and a planet what if it’s something like Coruscant from Star Wars, a city planet, but also possibly a Dyson sphere or a hollow planet? Neither would exactly be a planet and would technically count as a place. This is all hypothetical if Vax is in the physical realm... another possibility could be implied from Sja-Anat’s interlude in ROW where she describes her experience of being in both the physical and cognitive at once. What if Vax if a weird anomaly where it’s a planet or city where it’s stuck in both like the Unmade? In this situation it would be like in stories where rift portals connect earth with another dimension but in this case a thin spot where the physical and cognitive are pretty much the same. A natural perpendicularity with natural born worldhoppers.

Here’s one: Ivory and Jasnah. Jasnah is asexual and with the hints that she might’ve had a bad experience with men in her childhood maybe Ivory would be the one man she could stand romantically long enough to get together with. Also it makes me wonder if humans and spren can mate or not. I’m sure she’d be curious enough to have thought that at some point.

Here are my choices: Navani, she’s such an awesome woman who would be nice to talk to like the granny who tells wonderful stories about her childhood. Adolin, the friend everyone needs and isn’t too judgey. Syl, very excitable and would be fun as a movie watching partner but could end up being like the annoying child in the movie theater if she asks one too many questions.

No mating! With that out of the way I could definitely see her and Adolin having a kid or two when we see them again in the back 5. I’m fairly certain Adolin will ‘spoil’ the kids, I think he’d be happy with boys or girls, but Shallan I think would feel it’s more an obligation fulfillment. Heck it might be interesting if Veil or Radiant were better mothers than her... imagine if she did get pregnant, gave birth but then both Veil and Radiant went into labor but none of the babies would be triplets. I know that’s not how that would work but it would be quite wild if Shallan somehow pulled a Wandavision pregnancy for them. It does make you wonder just what type of mother Shallan would be. I could see her going as loving them but not knowing how to be an effective mother but at least trying or going the accidental neglect route where she thinks she’s doing a good job but doesn’t realize she’s not being a good mother. I just can’t see her being 100% a fantastic parent but at most trying not to do what her father did to her family. As for the mentions of Jasnah I could see her getting an accidental pregnancy, in other words a ‘how did I not realize I was pregnant’ pregnancy. Imagine if she ended up not being with a human but her spren and thinking they couldn’t possibly procreate but end up discovering that it’s possible.

When I had read that Jasnah was asexual I felt a closer kinship to her since I am asexual like her. I don’t really pay that much attention to relationships in fiction nor do I go for shipping but when thinking about it Jasnah is for sure asexual. However for the romance side it could go anywhere. Brandon did say she was heteroromantic for now in the annotations so it’s currently in flux. Heck she might not even know herself since I don’t really know what my romantic side is now. I used to think I was heteroromantic but lately I’ve been reevaluating that and think I’m closer to panromantic or demiromantic but neither sounds completely right to me. Going off how I’m still exploring that side of myself she might as well at this point and could still end up with a woman if that turns out to be the right fit for her.

Almost to the end of part 1 of ROW. Finally in a good headspace to be reading this since I was in a bad depression state when it had released. Loving all the Navani love so far in this book since I love that woman.

Over the weekend I picked up: His Majesty’s Dragon by Naomi Novik Dark One by Brandon Sanderson The Way of the Househusband Volume 1 I have a few comics I’ve backed on Kickstarter coming in later this year so I’ve got some of those to look forward to along with Cytonic.

Here’s an interesting hypothetical: imagine if there was a planet where the investiture manifests by losing a sense and one island was all blind. They obviously know the island is there but can’t actually observe it. Wonder how weird the CR version will appear if no other people on that planet visit that island.

Been playing through Kingdom Hearts X to get as far as I can before the final update gets localized. Most of it is very boring filler missions that I can technically skip but I don’t really want to skip the fillers so that I can level up faster. Agrabah was the worst offender for filler since it’s pretty much just 90% desert and very little city so when I see that there’s a stretch of 10-30 levels of desert it made it hard to want to continue. Thankfully I’m now at a point where the main story is finally at the forefront, though it took over 400 missions to get there. Why 400? 401 is when the title finally appears! The first 400 was just tutorials and doing the stories of Snow White, Wonderland, Hercules and half of Agrabah. Half the time there wasn’t even a story happening, just a vague ‘heartless are out of control’ excuse to spend 30-50 missions bouncing between the hub and the Disney worlds. Heck the Disney worlds stories were all spread out and meandering to the point you wondered if you were making any progress like Wonderland you are just wandering around following Alice and nothing is happening until after 400 when she finally goes into the White Rabbits house, becomes huge, gets put on trial by the Queen and finally saved all in quickish succession while Hercules starts with a tournament before you go for a dry spell of nothing before returning about 200 missions later to do a second tournament but it turns out it was organized by Hades and that’s when the story happens where you have to journey through the underworld for a while. After 400 Beast’s Castle is unlocked and you do the entire story right then and there with no break during it. I’ve also checked the wiki and it looks like they do the same for Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty and when you go back to Agrabah’s story you finish up the Rescue Abu story before going into the actual story. That’s sad when the second world takes up most of the game and it’s almost all filler stuff that doesn’t matter to it’s own story.

Look what finally came in! The bookmark is under the bumper sticker. The coasters are cute and fun! I love how the sets for the Truthwatchers and Willshapers came out. The playing cards are neat, though I’m not sure if I’d ever actually use them as anything but display. The Lightweaver set, my Order, is awesome! The chicken scouts stuff is adorable! Love how the Wit coin turned out along with the backer pin. Just some advertisement stuff but I liked it included this thank you note. Brandon and everyone at Dragonsteel are the coolest and awesome! I hope the Kickstarter for WOR goes even better than this and includes even more awesome stuff! Also I picked up Dark One while at B&N.

Or if it was advanced enough to have pictures and film there would be something for people to remember. It would be like if Scadrial was destroyed after Era 3, since it’s supposed to be 1980’s level technology, would seeing any movies allow it to still be seen in the CR or would it still vanish since it’s an image of the past? It’s easy to figure out in regards to the planets as we currently see them in their respective stories, since they’re all pre-technology/photo era but when it comes to the time after that is where it gets murky since there are accurate depictions of these places at this point instead of embellished portraits and art. Using Earth as an example if New York were destroyed enough that it all became a bay and no way to rebuild would it disappear from our CR despite how many films it’s in that would preserve it.

I would imagine if a bead was broken or shattered it would mean the physical item gets closer to deteriorating or rotting than it normally would. If a flame somehow got extinguished I imagine the person would fall into a brain dead state and end up like the Emperor in Emperor’s Soul... what if that’s what happened to him?

I kind of wonder if Vax is a planet that only exists in the cognitive realm. We don’t know what happens to the cognitive realm version of a physical realm planet dies so what if this is a planet that was destroyed in the physical realm but still exists in the cognitive realm. It would make sense why Ati thought he might be in Vax as soon as he arrived in the cognitive realm in SH.

Title is kind of meh for me. Cover looks nice but in the middle for me. Anyone else have a hard time imagining Spensa looking like the girl on the covers so far? Usually if the main character is on the cover I tend to imagine them looking that way but not this time. Everytime I imagine her I just can’t imagine her being white or light skinned at all.

Yeah, I’ve seen ASMR’s where the character is rude but relaxing but this one just wasn’t relaxing, just infuriating since it’s the type of person I would instantly hate. Even worse since there wasn’t any warning about the situation at all.

Watched an ASMR video last night that I thought would be silly and dumb but ended up being a ‘yikes!’ one that made me need a palette cleanser afterwards. Pretty much it was titled ‘Gluten Free Debbie Exorcises Gluten From Your Body’ and the character is a southern Christian woman that makes you go ‘why does she remind me of someone I’ve met’. I had seen another one with this character and she is a messed up one being homophobic (the viewer is her gay son) and has no problems with COD (it’s patriotic) but has a problem with guns and violence and being all ‘where does he learn this? It’s probably the schools fault’. Well in the video in question what prompts the exorcism is that she thinks her son wants a Barbie because the gluten is a demon wanting to corrupt him and bar him from heaven. What I left the video with was that exorcism is a torture device because this silly concept went scary fast after realizing what this mom character was. Afterwards I cleansed myself with some puppy videos so I didn’t go to sleep with that on my mind.

Finished Dawnshard. I paced myself by reading a couple chapters a night and not blow through it. This book shows why Rysn is a great character and one of Brandons best ones. I wonder when we’ll see the other three Dawnshards and if they’re on Roshar or on different planets. The sleepless don’t freak me out like they do for some, probably because I like weird creatures like them. I’m really hoping Brandon keeps the whole Lopen speaking the ideals in a non-action worthy way going for the fourth and fifth ideals. Going to restart ROW which I attempted back in November but I wasn’t in the right headspace to read it, I was so burned out and depressed from work so reading war stuff didn’t help and the sudden timeskip took me out of the story in a bad way. Then when it became obvious it was starting to reference stuff from Dawnshard, looking at you Cord and your new shardplate, I had to set it down for later.

I have a tenuous relationship where autism is concerned. My mother 100% thinks I’m part of it but when I’ve looked it up myself nothing about it clicked to me, you know like when someone who is undiagnosed reads the symptoms of any mental disorder and everything makes sense for their life? I didn’t have that moment at all, I had the exact opposite reaction to that moment. You also know how people like seeing themselves represented in media? While I like Steris and Renarin I just can’t relate to them at all since I didn’t have any of their social struggles but I’m an introvert so I don’t like being around people when I want alone time. I also don’t have any of the sensory overload things that is associated with it either. If I don’t like something it tends to be because of the flavor over texture, though if I’m not expecting a certain texture it might go on the list of foods I’d rather not eat again like the Asian Pear having a sandy, gritty texture mixed in. As for sound it’s only extremely loud and sudden ones you have to cover your ears for, like a cannon shot, that I’ll cover my ears on. As for any other stuff I’m not really a collector of one particular kind of item, I’m not extremely good at math (I know stereotype but best example) or any other symptom I’m forgetting. The way my mother keeps introducing me to people that I have this gets to the point that it’s derogatory and hurtful every time she says it. It hurts even more since she didn’t do this to me as a kid or a teen, only when I became an adult. I do have a theory on why she thinks I have it. She is odd herself to the point it’s not a normal brand of quirkiness. I think she might have it and she tends to get it in her head if she can do something or have something then everyone else has to as well. One example is when I had plantar warts and she assumed I had plantar fasciitis only because she had it around that time before I had to correct her. Evidence I think goes towards her having it is she’s not good at keeping her friends around and somehow pushes everyone away. Things have to be done a certain way or it’s not right (I’ve had it where I had a box flush with the wall but apparently it wasn’t flush enough for her and when she moved it it was less flush than when I had it). She refuses to let anyone drive her around. She will cover her ears when someone is speaking at a normal tone sometimes. She is obsessed with collecting anything Cheshire Cat related. She assumes I enjoy all her interests (she loves anything to do with WWII which I hate but she thinks I like it just because I enjoy history). She doesn’t get certain social cues (headphones meaning leave me alone) or situational faux pas (touching a puzzle piece when someone is putting a puzzle together and is doing it a certain way) nor does she understand hypothetical scenarios (she takes it as literal) which fits a bit with a symptom I’ve read. I don’t want this to be taken as discrimination or mean, just to show how it feels when someone thinks you have a disorder or disease you certainly don’t have.

Watching three documentaries by French director Louis Malle. They’re all slice of life and focus on different things. First is Vive le Tour which is a short film about the 1962 Tour de France. They show a little about the conditions that go on during the race that modern coverage doesn’t show like the drink raids where the riders go a viking on bars and restaurants to get hydrated, the doping, the watchers helping stragglers up the mountain and other little things. Second was Humain, Trop Humain. It’s focused on a car manufacturing plant assembling a car. It never focuses on one section of production for long, usually a couple cycles of different processes like welding and adjusting the rear door, or it switches focus on smaller sections like the upholstery and wire making process. None of it overstayed it’s welcome except for the sales floor part. It went on a little longer than necessary, especially since it wasn’t even the end of the documentary! One very good thing about this documentary was how ASMR inducing it got since some of the visuals and most of the sounds were tingle inducing so it was very relaxing to watch. Third up is Place de la République or as I shall call it People Watch the movie. Pretty much Malle talked with various people over 10 days at the Place de la République to get their opinions on stuff and any stories they want to talk about. Various things discussed were work pensions, what it was like being black in Paris, life after Hitler, retirement and even romance. Some people show up a few times like the lottery stand woman and a young woman who even helps them interview a couple people at one point. There were even silly antics like a guy trying to get a policeman to give a good talking too to a guy who stole his parking spot even though it’s a no parking zone and he was double parked. Overall the film was very neutral about giving any opinions and just letting the Parisians give their opinions instead. Next up is going to be Malle’s documentary on India called Phantom India.
