  1. Wait a minute. Multiple truthwatchers? I seem to be missing out on something. Renarin is the only one that I know of.
  2. @Serce FortsI might be a little late to the party but... Welcome to the Forums! Kaladin and Lift are my favourite characters. I am so down with Lift's jokes. Crack me up every time.
  3. Welcome to the forums. Good to see you managed to get the books. I'm in the UK and hoping to go a signing for the Oathbringer release as Brandon will apparently be coming to the UK. Planning on getting a signed Oathbringer and then ordering signed copies of TWoK and WoR from online shop.
  4. Ah right. I shouldn't have said it like it is a confirmed fact. It is another theory. I will edit that out.
  5. @Calderis I actually completely agree with you. I was just explaining my understanding of reaching/speaking an oath in answer to @anrilu With Kaladin, Syl didn't transform until he actually said the words themselves. The third oath. Only after he said the words did syl turn into a sharblade. Generally Third Oath, but not always. As we know from WoB, most orders have to reach the third Oath before the spren transforms. With Lift, wyndle transformed before she actually speaks the third oath. But we know that wyndle kept saying she has to say the words. I think this seemed to have confused @ANRILU As it confused me at first. Then I saw to the WoB that you just explained and came to this conclusion. You don't have to actually say the words first, as long as you have reached the feelings and meaning behind them i.e accept/say them in your heart. “Say the Words,” Wyndle said from beside her. “I’ve said them, in my heart.” But what good would they do? So at this point she has accepted the Oath, in my opinion. Then wyndle trasforms when Lift needs him. Then the words are said as well to set it in stone, like you mentioned above. This is just to clarify my last post. I don't think i explained what I was trying to say clearly. @Extesian Oh nice info. I still haven't completely grasped this concept yet.
  6. Some good points you mentioned. About this particular one, I was thinking how the dynamic would change if Jasnah arrives in Urithiru. Right now Shallan has kind of taken Jasnah's position, what with solving the mystery of Urithiru and now figuring out the KR past. She is the Scholar that knows the most atm about the past in regards to KR. Could this, maybe, suggest that Jasnah won't be arriving in Urithiru anytime soon. Just so that there could be more time for her interaction with the Kholins and making some discoveries on her own. There will definitely be her new internal struggle as she will be working as a double agent with the ghostbloods and how she comes to terms with that. Looking forward to syl and pattern hating on each other I am totally down with this. There could be this arc with Adolin dealing with his status as 'normal' and comes to terms with it and accepts it. Then he can go on to become a radiant. It will appease both factions of Adolin.
  7. @Shadows4Silence @Tesh Kholin Unknown soldier, Inner thoughts: Looks like that Mathis guy is quite dangerous. I felt an almost other-wordly vibe off of him in our most recent meeting with him when he confirmed Shallan and Tesh are different people. I'll have to suppress my mercenary tendencies, and not show any kind of violence towards him. I think it will be worse for me if I tried. Almighty only knows what skills he's hiding. What if he's an undercover radiant. And I wouldn't have believed his story about Tesh if I hadn't recently met her. They are definitely similar in appearance but you can tell the difference once you have seen them both. Oh well. She seems nice enough. She did Invite me to a meeting and said the drinks were on Mathis, once he gets here. Apparently he's on his way to Urithiru now. (then what have I been meeting these few times in his form!?) She was interested in my stalker spren and mentioned that I bring him along. Not like I could tell him to not come. The thing follows me everywhere. Wriggling along on the ground. Mostly making random noises but sometimes saying stuff about oaths.(who cares about Oaths, I need money off sebarial). I wonder why its in the shape it is. Its like a fusion of a few different flowers. Somtimes similar to a rose, an amaryllis or even an anemone sometimes. Weird. For now, I'll wait on Lady Tesh on the location and time of the meeting. (What's the meeting about again?)
  8. @Tesh Kholin got it
  9. Jokes aside. I'm a Reshi male, working as a mercenary in Sebarial's army. Don't know how we survived that stormy night on the shattered plains, but we got away with our lives and now reside in the Urithiru. But don't know how long it will be before the next fight. Plus, this weird spren that started following me and trying to get me to speak back to it is annoying. Maybe I'm imagining things. I could ask Lord Sebarial but it would be hard to get a meeting with him. My Mercenary commander wouldn't believe me. Oh well, lets wait it our for now. The storms havnt come back yet, if they even reach this high up. If the enemies do come, we got the radiants on our side. And I'm going punch that weird guy calling himself Mathis if he asks for that Tesh one more time. Surely he can see that the one he's talking about is Brightlady Davar. But his insistence on the description being of another person is idiotic at best. Shall I talk back to the spren? Well, what harm could it do... Tbc
  10. I didn't know it was such hard work!
  11. I can't seem to find it atm but in one WoB it was mentioned that its not the exact words themselves but more of the feelings associated wit the words. It was in relation to Dalinar speaking the second oath which was shown in two parts and there was discussion going on about whether it was just the second oath or the third. I just can't seem to remember where I've seen it. So in the discussion someone gave source which asked asked Mr.Brandon about Dalinars oath and that was his reply. That it's the feelings associated with the words. That's why towards the end of WoR, Kaladin protects Elhokar but right until the end doesn't know why he's taking the certain actions. Then it all clicks and he realizes what he's been doing. Protecting. Even when he doesn't like them. Hence the oath 'I will protect even those I hate, so long as it is right'. That's also the case with lift I think. She has fully accepted the second oath before she speaks it. In another WoB, it was mentioned that the burst of light in kaladins Oath does not necessarily happen with everyone and that we will find out the reason. If someone knows of the source(which i cannot remember) it would be appreciated.
  12. May the highstorm be with you May the Heralds be with you May Honor be with you and a slightly different one: May you be adopted by stormfather
  13. @Tesh Kholin I will definitely check it out. I want a Stormlight persona now @Shadows4Silence Thanks. I just seen your thread
  14. @maxalWow thanks a lot for sharing. I've seen quite a few Adolin topics but this is a nice summary. Personally, I've gone through phases where I have wanted Adolin to become a KR initially. Then I thought his character would definitely be more interesting if he didn't become a KR and had to deal with being normal. As normal as one can be, being an heir to a princedom and being one of the best swordsmen, possibly in the world. Let's face it, taking on the multiple shardbearers was no small feat. However, the theory of him talking to his shardblade is so strong, in my opinion. The others talked to their spren after becoming aware of their existence, therefore Adolin would have a really strong bond if he manages to revive it. Plus, I think it would be really pleasant to see Adolin getting a reply at some point when he talks to his Shardblade. That would be awesome. It's possible we see a slight change in Shallan's personality in oathbringer. Her character til now was a result of her not accepting her past and putting up a facade in a sense, forging a shield to protect herself. This leads me to believe there will be some shift in her personality now that she has accepted her past, not to mention her power would increase as she has spoken more truths. I definitely want to learn more about the other orders. One expectation I had near the end of WoR was an interaction between the different orders' sprens. In the Arena battle, Syl senses Pattern but then loses him. I was half-expecting them to talk in Urithiru. Looking forward to some spren-spren conversations in Oathbringer.
  15. That's interesting actually. I really should get a cosmere name. I guess it could just be my username or maybe come up with a meaningful name. Or does it have to be an existing character.
  16. Oh nice, I assumed we didn't know. I looked around a bit but did not find any mention of the location. It could be then that she goes back to Kholinar or even the shattered plains' oathgate and to urithiru(thats been her aim for a while)
  17. I don't think we know at this point. I also don't think we will find out the contents of Jasnah and hoids discussion. Well not straight away anyways. We will see her KR powers in action though as she defends the city portrayed on the cover. It'll be interesting to see if Dalinar will actually find out Taravangian working against him in Oathbringer. This is from the diagram that if Dalinar's not their ally then he will be an opponent. At the end of WoR, Dalinar thinks him as nothing more than a peaceful king. Maybe the Kholinar oathgate could come into play. As riots are taking place in Kholinar, I think dalinar will want to start his uniting from the most familiar place, that of his home. But seeing as how it was suggested that the palace itself it built on the oathgate, it could be a while before it comes in to use.
  18. Hey everyone. Arrived on the forum after finishing WoK, WoR, and edgedancer one after the other. I really enjoyed the characters' journey and development so far. Just wondering where we will see them go next, story-wise and character-development. Kaladin's back in his hometown in Hearthstone, Alethkar. So we find out about his parents, the town, the situation with the freshly transformed parshmen, confrontation with Roshone? Jasnah will be in a fight to defend a city. Could there be a meet-up between Kaladin and Jasnah? I can see him coming to help near the end of the fight when things are looking a bit hopeless as there seems to be quite a large force attacking the city, what with the stone giant in thr background. It's a Dalinar flashback book so there will be a lot of development for him. Maybe we'll find out about his wife etc. Can we see him leaving Urithiru to meet other radiants or leaders? To unite them. Or will someone else go around in his place trying to gather the radiants so he can direct the forces from urithiru. And more about KR history with Shallan. She is in with ghostbloods so a bit more about their intents. How about her interaction with Adolin now (Sadeas). Will there be a change from his side. Will lift meet any of the main characters? Will we see new radiants getting introduced? Honestly theres so much to speculate on. I'm very excited for Oathbringer. What are everyone's thoughts on this.

  20. Welcome, though I'm relatively new myself. The main reason I signed up was so that I can join in on conversations about the cosmere. Otherwise, I'm just lurking about on other sites as well.
  21. Thanks Tesh Its good to be here. Already got a cookie and a pie.
  22. Thanks for the welcome everyone The spoilers for mistborn were similar to yours. The ending and some revelations about the shards were spoiled. And I am highly excited about Oathbringer. Will definitely try to attend a signing. And btw that spren was unexpected and I didn't get the luxury of choosing a name for it. It just happened
  23. Hi Nice to meet you. I'm new as well. It's been a very long time since I have been on a forum. Glad its this one.
  24. Hi everyone I'm happy to say that i've been bonded by a spren known as 'Love for Stormlight archive' which is forcing me to make my oaths by signing up on this forum. Fanboyism aside. I had read some standalone Sanderson works a few years back (Elantris and Warbreaker) in between reading Brent Weeks novels. I'm relatively new to fantasy. Reading mistborn trilogy was on my list but I kept seeing WoK mentioned everywhere with Sanderson. So just on a whim, I started WoK, expecting it to be similar to Elantris and Warbreaker and am I glad that I was wrong. It pulled me in like the first time I read Epic fantasy. I started WoR as soon as I put WoK down. I've also read edgedancer and checked out some of the lore for the cosmere. Unfortunately, this came with some mistborn spoilers but oh well. And thats how i discovered the 17th shard. Looking forward to having interesting discussions with other fans.
