Long Game 44: Shadows of Elantris Redux
Eternum replied to Herowannabe's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Night had fallen over Kae, but cities never truly sleep. Gas and oil lamps illuminated the streets, as raucous singing emanated from many a tavern or inn. Yet many others were hushed, filled with whispers of murder, subterfuge and ultimately, fear. The Patriarch was killed by the Derethi. The Patriarch was killed by cultists. The Patriarch was, apparently, killed by people ranging from figures out of legend to the shady neighbor three doors over. Some even said Elantrians were responsible, but that particular rumor was believed by very few. Enerin sat by the window of his room in a random inn near the palace, playing a slow, pondering tune on his flute. It helped him think. He had never even bothered to read the inn's name, but he managed to get a room for free in exchange for some playing and storytelling down in the common room. He had been reasonably excited to listen to Patriarch Seinalan's speech. That was cut short relatively early, though. Good men had died while others tried to find the murderers. An evil man had died, too. Others would, by the time this ended. He intended to see to that. A decade and a half of travelling through occasionally hostile lands had not kept his hands-- or the knives hidden in his sleeves and coat--clean of blood. He had to admit to himself, however, that the "right thing" counted for very little, in his case. He could recognize a good story when he saw one. And this one in particular was his. Not only his, for he was not a fool that thought the world spun around him, but he played a crucial role. Dead men were good motivations, in stories and real life, as recent events proved. He continued to play well into the night, and when sunrise came, he was still playing. ------------------------------------ Okay, so, game stuff. About Araris: A couple posts of his were piquing my interest, but it wasn't enough to analyze at that point. Joe had voted for him, though, so I decided to voice the fact that I found him shady at the very least. That's all, really. It wasn't much more than a gut read, though I had not done more than skim his posts until he was proven a cultist. At that point, his identity was a done deal. I'm not very sure about Lopen. Wilson makes good points, and his enthusiasm when Araris was caught read really weird to me, but I'm not convinced yet. However, if I don't find a better lynch target during the day, or if one doesn't come up, I'm willing to lynch him.- 1185 replies

Quick Fix Game 31: <MISSING VARIABLE>
Eternum replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Hey, everyone. Sorry for being inactive up to this point. Been somewhat busy lately, and keeping track of 2 games at once gives me a lot less time. I think that's just Bort's playstyle, @Droughtbringer. At least, he was pretty agressive in LG44. That's all the info I have on his playstyle, though, so I might be wrong. I'm somewhat unsure of who to vote on, if anyone. Both the kill and the lynch lent us very little information, the deaths being a relative inactive and a contribution crusade victim, respectively. Regarding the Sophie kill discussion, I personally think you all are reading far too much into it. At first, I also assumed Sophie had a kill either way. Though, in hindsight, I can see how her having a teammate to be able to kill makes a certain amount of sense, mechanics-wise. @randuir Ow, my pride.- 268 replies

All I had on Araris at the time was a gut read, and you were relatively more active, thus I decided to focus on you. I had very little time when I posted, so I had to either do analysis on one of you or neither. You're not really off my radar yet though, because that convo between you and Aman could have easily been pre-planned. That entire thing Aman did, with roleclaiming and whatnot, could have been simply a cover. This could be me overthinking things, but it's not a possibility that should be dismissed out of hand. However, you make a good point about Araris. I'll read what happened while I was asleep more carefully, and post any thoughts. Sure, this is a night cycle, but that's no reason to stop discussing. I'm particularly curious about how quickly the lynch moved off of me and toward Rand. It insinuates me as an elim and gets rid of a villager all in one fell swoop.- 1185 replies

Long Game 44: Shadows of Elantris Redux
Eternum replied to Herowannabe's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Heeeelllooo everyone! So, sorry for being inactive. Life got the better of me, basically. But I'm back now, and better than ever, with 4-ish hours left on the clock! Yay..? I don't have much analysis to offer, and the only people that stood out to me are Araris and Bort. I'll talk about Araris later, maybe next cycle, but for now, Bort. Len has already pointed out the first big thing, Bort's vote on Joe. Out of his five suspicions (few of which seem legitimate, honestly), Joe has been the most helpful so far, along with Drake. Participating in discussion, etc. It strikes me as odd why he didn't vote on Kidpen to begin with, or even Steel. Second, that little exchange between him and Mraize in page 5 just.. strikes me as odd. It gives me elim vibes, honestly-- two elims pretending to slowly begin to trust each-other in the thread, so later-on they have a better excuse when defending each-other. Third, this: This, this is just weird. So what if your lynch proposal actually gets lynched? You seemed to be voting on people you genuinely suspect, not voting half-heartedly just for the sake of discussion. I would have accepted the latter, had you not actually expressed suspicion of Joe, however. Basically, why are you voting on Joe, and then Kidpen, if you don't want them lynched? And why are you so worried about your lynch succeeding? It just reeks of elim to me-- Discussing, but trying not to take the discussion anywhere. So, for now I'll vote on Bort. ..HH, this is just a bad move all-around. We need a solid lynch, and we gain next to no info by lynching an inactive right now. The first vote on Badger was not a lynch attempt, it was a poke vote. Why, exactly, are you trying to make it out to be a bandwagon, and why are you hopping on for no given reason? @STINK Enerin the storyteller will meet the Imperial Mint as soon as he possibly can. He is a busy and very homeless man at the moment. So, once he has arranged for housing in the nearest inn, he will come to entertain the Imperial Mint with stories and legends of lands the likes of which few have seen!- 1185 replies

Fifth Scholar, Elbereth and Herowannabe are running the game, here. They don't interact with the players other than in rule clarifications or in PMs. So, yes, they're the game masters pretty much, making sure the game runs smoothly. Orlok is.. a judge, in a way. If any disputes happen during the game, it's his job to deal with them, basically. It's more than that, but I don't know much about how IMs work. @Cadmium Compounder- 1185 replies

Long Game 44: Shadows of Elantris Redux
Eternum replied to Herowannabe's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Enerin reined his dun gelding in, stopping to finally admire his home city of Kae from a distance. The once-shining walls of Elantris were visible, and a sight to behold at that, but they were not what he was here to see. Not today. As he studied the bustling city, nostalgia hit him so hard he almost didn't notice how oddly quiet the other three were. He had set off 10 or 15 years ago, inspired by the Enefel of old, searching for stories. He had traveled all of Opelon and more, from Arelon to the many nations of the Fjordell Empire, and then north, to the kingdom of Teod and the magnificent Rose Empire. He had heard and told many stories in his travels, but the only story that had eluded him all these years was his own. As he looked upon his long-abandoned home, something told him he had finally found it. Enerin heeled his horse forward into a walk, then gradually into a trot and a run. The countryside flew past the corners of his eyes, but he did not notice, for they were burning with a desire, and with a final question. Was this his beginning, or his end? There was only one way to find out. (Enerin is joining the game!)- 1185 replies

Yeah, at this point I'm pretty certain at least one person is lying about being a Scholar...

Seems like I won't be abke to deliver on that analysis, again. Busy with other stuff atm, sadly. However, I'll place a vote on Coop. They're really the only person I'm suspicious of. It's mainly a gut read, but that's better than nothing, and we need a lynch.

Oh boy, it's been so long since I've watched Citizen Kane First things first, Hero. Next, @Madagascar, what exactly does your role do? Are you, per chance, the converter role? We have a few more hours in the day. If nothing happens in the next hour or so, I'll try to create some discussion. Gonna prepare some analysis, in the meantime, and respond to the stuff y'all have said to me since my last post.
