  1. similar to this, except bulkier and without boob armour because sculpting like that adds unnecessary weak points to the armour. The artist is Mike Franchina
  2. Corrupted Lightweavers Spren: Inquisitor spren (cryptics but more "passionate") Surges: Divination: (Oathbringer spoiler) Persuasion: corrupted Transformation. Like Transformation but mental (divine attributes instead of normal soulcasting properties), allows things like telepathy and mind control. By the 5th ideal, it might allow manipulation of sprit webs which would make it similar to forgery Ideals: for each ideal past the first they must uncover a powerful secret about someone else. Resonance: enhanced ability to read body language. They could look at a crowd and know exactly how each individual is feeling, this could be used to efficiently manipulate/direct large groups of people.
  3. I was finishing a reread of the way of kings today. In Dalinar's last vision the storm (presumably the everstorm but it is described as a dust storm with no mention of rain and red lightning, I suspect it could be "the true desolation" instead) is described as turning the rocks to dust; when reading that I remembered that stormwater is described as tasting metallic. Could part of Odium's body have been stolen and mixed into the stormwater/crem, this could be part of why Odium is bound to the Roshar system and why he is so focused on the desolation? Odium would need to destroy the entire surface of the continent to free himself. There isn't much evidence for this theory but I think it's worth considering.
  4. To create lightning a skybreaker could break apart molecules in the air to make charged ions. This would create a charge difference between the air and ground, which is what creates lighting. The only question is whether they could ionise enough of the air for lightning.
  5. I agree with @Rossamund Rhapadocera, Detritus is a shell world rather than a Dyson sphere
  6. personally I think that an Atium savant would be able to see a few hours into the future of everything in their perception, but they would lose all memory of the past i.e. when burning atium they would be like a limited version of the Cthaeh from the kingkiller chronicle but when not burning they would have severe alzheimer's. Also they would never remember the past or things outside their perception and would have to infer such information from their view of the future. I think this fits with the idea of savants, great power with a related downside that makes not being a savant preferable, in most situations.
  7. I don't think they would fall slower. My understanding is that storing speed stores your ability to move your own body i.e. how fast your arms and legs move, not how fast you body moves relative to the ground.
  8. I've been wondering if the sand lichen on Taldin is the same as the stuff living on elantris's walls, so maybe it has spread but only where there is a constant source of investiture.
  9. Nightblood absorbs investiture, so maybe Shashara just killed one or more returned with him during the war.
  10. I have an idea for iron and steel, although it could manifest only when burning the metal. The side-effect could be a constant version of Wax's steel bubble but stronger and permanent i.e. all metal is either pulled to or pushed from the Savant. This would mean that if Wax tried to walk through a metal door frame while burning, he would either be crushed or the door frame would break.
  11. what if you first made a beaver koloss, then added further spikes to turn it into a fullborn. That should solve the size issue.
  12. We have confirmation on what he is doing, Harmony is putting one more Ruin electron in etmetal than Preservation electrons. This is why it is more reactive than normal cesium. Edit: after rereading Pagerunner's post, its not confirmed only strongly suggested.
  13. This is the first thing I thought of when Shallan said Mraize's chicken was green.
  14. Personally I suspect that urithiru may have been a listener city and the patterns are related to that. However that's only a feeling and I don't have anything to back it up
  15. I've seen a several people talking as if there is a hard limit on how full a metal mind can be, but I don't fully agree. When reading the books I thought of filling a metalmind as like filling a bike tire. The more air is in the tire the harder it is to pump in more, but the only real limit is when the tire bursts. If the tire tube was infinitely strong and you had infinite force to pump with then you could go until the air was effectively a solid.
  16. I dont have the quote to hand but my favorite is when he says that his hat is lucky, because he's never died while wearing it.
  17. I believe that Brandon said that what happened to the lord ruler was his body trying to catch up to the age his spirit said he was. Therefore aging is a result of changes to the spirit so you would age even in the cognitive realm, although you might not if you were in the spirit realm.
  18. Could hemalurgy be used to reclaim Breath from a lifeless, could it still be used or would it be stuck to the spike?
  19. This is only slightly related but I think that the Elantris magic system would be one of the most easily transferred to film.
  20. I just looked it up and Brandon has confirmed that there is a way to go FTL "Yes, the FTL is built into the magic systems and so there will be something where they figure out how to do that with the magic and spaceships will be propelled using that."
  21. I was reading the windrunner vs steel Inquisitor thread and it got me thinking. Light is able to move at the speed of of light because it has no mass. An iron Ferring could theoretically reduce their mass to nothing, if they had some way to accelerate themself they could reach the speed of light, given enough time. Also if iron Ferrings can go into negative mass they might be able to go faster than light. This would be impossible to to do in an atmosphere(air friction) but it would be possible in space. Could we see this in a sic-fi mistborn book?
  22. I was rereading Secret History and this line caught my attention, "You always jump at stories, Alonoe. Not every coincidence is a sign of someone drawing upon Fortune."(the f in Fortune was capitalised). This is on page 79 where the people in the fortress are discussing whether their sighting of Kelsier might be a Cognitive Shadow from Threnody. Does anyone else think this indicates that there is a shard called Fortune, and it is somehow related to Threnody.
  23. Brandon has said that Nightblood could potentially absorb all the Investiture in the Cosmere, so what would happen if he fully absorbed a shard eg honor. Would it affect his personality, would he be like a human shard holder?
