  1. How have I not seen this before???

At the end of the last school year, this random kid in my biology class gave me this fountain pen. I wrote with it a lot, but I still wrote with pencil more than with pen. Then this year, I have this one teacher who only lets us write with pen, and so I've started only using pens. And now I have two fountain pens and only use ballpoint pens if the paper is super absorbent. (Halfway through this school year my school switched to this paper that the ink I use with my fountain pens just bleeds through, and it's rather annoying.)

I'd have to double check what pens I have, but I use Waterman ink. I also prefer converters over cartridges.

  2. There's probably already one of these somewhere, but, well, anyone want to talk about musicals? I feel like talking about musicals.

I personally am a fan of some of the more random ones. My top three at the moment are Les Miserables, Hadestown, and this one production of Hunchback of Notre Dame. I also love Phantom of the Opera, Hamilton, Wicked, and Dear Evan Hansen. Depressing musicals are the best ones. Also apparently ones that take place in France.

What musicals are you guys into?

And just to be clear, I listen to musicals, I do not sing them or act in them. Unless I'm home alone, but we don't talk about that.

  3. I might as well post here.

I'm fairly certain I'm ace, and am also somewhere on the aromantic spectrum. This could change (I won't go into why this is at the moment, but feel free to ask if you want), but at the moment, I feel this describes me pretty well.

I'm also female but I refuse to adhere to traditional gender roles or anything like that. I like to say that I want to be seen as me first instead of my gender or anything like that. It's just not a big part of who I am, and I don't want it to dictate who I can be.

"I don't rightly know. My spirit guide told me to come here. You would probably better recognize the name Dreamwalker."

Sighing, Talnic sheathed his sword. "I don't recognize it. But there are others around here that probably would."

"The final words of a dragon - especially a monorealmatic one - are extremely important, even more so if it risked insanity to pass on its message. From what you said about either you killing it or it killing you I can assume that either it wanted to get rid of you or it went insane. If you continue to refuse to explain there's no reason I should assume anything other than that you want to hide something about it's words, which means it probably wanted you dead, in which case I want you dead too." Her hair is no longer flaming. "Additionally, I don't understand what happened here, which leaves me with no reason not to assume you slaughtered this dragon knowing it was monorealmatic."

    "Who are you?"

  6. 12 hours ago, Gneorndin said:

"Ok, obviously there's something I'm not understanding. Tell me exactly what happened. To the word, if you can manage it." She speaks with a Draconic accent.

Talnic narrowed his eyes at the girl. Her accent was eerily similar to that of the dragons he had had previous encounters with.

"No," he said. "Not unless you tell me why you need to know, and if I don't think you're lying and agree with your reasoning."

  7. 3 hours ago, Gneorndin said:

"How dare you. How DARE you kill that dragon! There's no Dreamwalker! You severed it's one connection to the Realms!"

Talnic had no idea what the girl was saying.
"Look, I can't bring it back. And it was either I kill it or it would kill me."

The corpse burns down to nothing and Yvris looks at all the people who have gathered.

"Why are you here, and who killed the dragon?" She glares at them, her hair aflame in her anger.

Talnic jumped backwards as the corpse of the dragon burst into flames. A moment later he had his sword out before him, ready to attack.

"Why are you here, and who killed the dragon?"

The voice came from a girl, he hair seemingly on fire.

"I did," Talnic said, he voice cool.

Rylan smiled, his green eyes seeming to spark ablaze with mirth and madness.

“The very first thing you should know about me, is that when I am around, rules tend to break, bend, and be broken.”

He paused a moment, then continued

“The second thing you should know about me, is that most people find it hard to believe anything I say or do. I’ve had five separate warlords offer hundreds of Tav for my head, because they didn’t believe me when I told them their gods were all false. I had already spoken to three separate deities on the matter, all of which agreed with me!”

    Rylan shook his head and laughed lightly, then muttered;

    “Hah! Vaandor.”

Talnic narrowed his eyes, his sense of distrust towards the stranger growing.

Kalarius Dakaes scanned the horizon. He had a spear on his back and he bore medium armor with small metal plates coating a leather interior.
Kalarius was running from the ill-fated Siege of Ravenna, months after Romulus Augustulus had been overthrown. He had long since gotten out of sight of Ravenna, and had traveled west, following the Po before he arrived to where he was camped now, in the middle of a abandoned town, his horse grazing near him.

    Ah!

I'm going to do some research, and then throw together a character. I'll try and post that tomorrow.

Sef was taken aback by that. He shook his head and told Talnic: "He... He says he comes from another world, though he doesn't know his exact origins - he passes between worlds regularly and uncontrollably. You must excuse my delay in translation, what he said... It widens our scientific knowledge by much. It needs to be researched."

He shakes Gal, who looks up from his notebook, a little annoyed. He then tells him what Mr. Ryan said. Gal immediately looks up, starting to actually listen to the conversation.

Talnic frowned. "How likely is it that he's telling the truth?"

Sef didn't translate that, instead telling the Shadow what Mr. Ryan told him earlier.

Talnic furrowed his brow, a newfound concern about the stranger beginning to grow within him. The cryptic answer combined with the man's unlikely appearance didn't seem quite right to Talnic, especially, he noted, since he didn't seem to speak a very common language.

"Ask him again," Talnic told Sef. "And ask him to be more specific, if he's willing."

“No... I simply ask, for the slaying of a dragon is no small feat. If I wasn’t a stranger here, I would have the power to grant you a title...” Rylan trailed off.

    "Where do you come from?"

  14. 21 hours ago, Onimur said:

Rylan turned to face the other man, apparently called The Shadow.

"Greetings and Salutations, I am Rylan Ryan, the Seventh. Are you the slayer of this mighty beast here?" Rylan gestured to the dragon beside him.

    @Tesh

Talnic nodded. "I am," he said, a little suspicious.

Why was it that everyone was so concerned about the fact he had killed the dragon? It's mere existence was more of an issue. He had never seen anything like it, and after watching it quickly descend into insanity...

"Do you know anything about where this dragon might have come from?"

  15. 17 hours ago, Trutharchivist said:

"He seems to be curious about the dead dragon, and your group." Replied Sef.

Gal lifted his eyes from the notebook for a moment, saw nothing interesting enough and returned to it.

"What does he want to know about us and the dragon?" Talnic asked slowly.

  16. 2 hours ago, Trutharchivist said:

Why is that? Just checking... It's (2^3)*3*23, in prime numbers multiplication. It's 24 squared minus 24 - which is to say 24*23. It doesn't seem like a very interesting number. Sixteen I can get, it's 2^4, so it's fine.

I have no idea. For some reason it's stood out to me since about third grade.
