  1. Aluminum bullets would be less damaging due to the lack of mushrooming from the stiffer Aluminum(I think) I know Silver bullets have that problem. That and Aluminum Bullets light mass is a problem as they have alot less force behind them.
  2. I'd give my hemalurgic donor card and have the spikes in my will somewhere. Of course they'd be copper spikes so my soul got linked directly to their brain. Gotta keep my intellect alive. Then I can talk to my family in their dreams and harass them about their sex life. That or have my spikes and those of my end of life significant other be used to make a Kandra, thus granting me and her immortality together. Then haunt the family.
  3. Agreed. I mean, we had that whole Spike Donors discussion for a way to get legit spikes. But Hemalurgy would do terrible things to the world. I'm derping around with a fanfic of this in my spare time to set up a city for the RPG and flesh it out so the players can be in the know quickly beforehand.
  4. With the side affects? Nope. I've avoided piercings my whole life, I'd rather not get them just for some superpowers. Besides, I can use a Scope for that. Especially a nice thermal one. Tin doesn't grant infravision.
  5. touch screen keyboard? They can gain competence while storing. Feruchemists can store small amounts over the course of a normal life and still have huge stores. But I do agree, Feruchemy is limited by the misery that life while storing would be. I maintain being Twinborn is the coolest thing. It has the most personality and potentially as much power as a full mistborn or Feruchemist with the right combinations. A:Pewter and F:Steel. A:Steel and F:Zinc Wax and Wayne. Etc. A:Pewter and F:Iron.
  6. The way I see it Aluminum projectiles ignore Atium reactions. An arm covered in Aluminum foil cannot be seen by Atium. Etc.
  7. I don't know... I mean think about Feruchemical Atium. Or Lerasium. Neither of those seem like innate abilities of the shard persay. They are things the shard could do. Well actually Feruchemical Atium seems totally Ant-Ruin once compounding is thrown in. And Atium spikes preserve the power they store better... In essence, I don't think what Atium does is anything other than the byproduct of consuming Ruin's body allomantically. It's tied to the spiritual DNA of the metal Atium. Sure Atium's futuresight seems very ruiny. But so do Iron and Steel. If Allomancy embodied preservation perfectly it would be all about healing and defending but that isn't the point. It's just an end positive system.
  8. I don't think it uses Ruin's future sight. Ruin is not the Cthaeh(Wise mans Fear). He is not a 5th dimensional entity, where he can see all possible time streams. It uses Ruins power to grant limited future sight. Steel uses Preservation's power to push metal objects but it can't push Aluminum. What makes it different? The only logic I can see is that Lerasium allows a mistrorn to burn Aluminum, but Lerasium doesn't affect Aluminum it affects spiritual DNA.
  9. As you've handily pointed out, there's plenty of ways she wouldn't have noticed. I mean, there are like a million lines packed tightly together coming from a mistborn vial and she never had vials of just duraluminum that I know of. It would be an easy thing to miss. I would assume a shard can, but I don't see why Atium should be an exception to the other allomantic powers just because it's a god metal. It does everything else the same.
  10. http://harpervoyagerbooks.com/harper-voyager-guidelines-for-digital-submission/ I'm working on a prep run of Primordial Lights, because why not. Anybody else interested should as well.
  11. Submitted an entry for Primordial Lights.
  12. I could come up with possible shard intents all day and probably only get 1 or 2 right. I mean they appear to have no unifying theory I can tell. They don't relate to any of the other 16s we've seen or anything like that. This seems like something we just need to wait on.
  13. He might be too old to play the part but Clint Eastwood could make an amazing Clubs. Watch gran turino to see where I'm coming from.
  14. Hemalurgy may be the most powerful but it seems to have some really unpleasant side affects. And being a full Feruchemist just sounds like alot of time being uncomfortable for short bursts of awesome. Hence me going Twinborn. Zinc to slow my brain down to normal most of the time and then spike to super high levels when necessary, and Steel Allomancy for flying, awesome gunplay(assuming I'm in an action movie), more flying along train tracks, and more flying. Besides which, imagine the fine tuned pushing you could do with your mind running at bullet time speeds. I'll push that bullet into that bullet, deflecting both and nailing the guys holding the hostages between the eyes. Super marksman powers activate. Really anything with Feruchemical Zinc would be awesome though. Lurcher, Thug, Rioting... you name it, thinking faster makes it better.
  15. There's no evidence either way, beyond the fact Alloy mentions that some of Aluminum's alloys are inert. No idea if Duraluminum is, but I can see why it would be. When you said Bronze do you mean Brass/Zinc?
  16. Brass and Zinc have nothing to do with Metal either, but Aluminum blocks them(Aluminum hats are mentioned as defending against soothing/rioting. The logic is obviously that burning Aluminum cuts away metals so it should be inert. It seems likely all the enhancement metals are inert given Chromium's function and the fact Nicro and Duraluminum are alloys of inert metals.
  17. And then they, and everybody in a three block radius got given to a plantation owner who ran into an army of Koloss. Skaa are murdered all the time and nobody says a thing. If the information got out all tLR needs to do is kill every nnearby Skaa. The other thing here. How would any regular bronze misting pierce a coppercloud? How would this discovery be made when Hemalurgy never reached the Skaa as anything despite the inquisitors running around. No seeker working with only Allomancy can pierce any coppercloud. It takes a spike.
  18. You should add an option for Twinborn... Because Feruchemical zinc Allomantic steel.
  19. At the beginning kf the series they were shocked there were more than 10 metals too but TLR knew of at least 2 more and his obligators knew one of those but the info never got out. Any skaa who discovered the weakness in copperclouds likely died quickly and considering the weakness was a hemalurgic.spike how would anybody figure it out?
  20. Aluminum isn't from another planet butbit might deal with the electricity involved in refining it. I don't know. I doubt its investiture.
  21. I'm not sure... The con I help direct is in november, as is Hunting(I'm from Wisconsin. Even if I don't shoot anything going off into the middle of nowhere is required... At least the poker is fun.) November is such a terrible month for me to do a ton of writing.
  22. I've done a good run through on what fits with being a social worker(I'm not one, but I work hand in hand with them every day. I do have an old roommate who writes that is a social worker looking at this too.) I'm glad you liked it. As to Deloris... Parents that deal with social workers are almost always off somewhere. The stories I could tell you if they didn't break confidentiality...
  23. Because Kel knows all? TLR squashed tons of knowledge, all the time. We can't take character's lack of knowledge of anything for proof.
  24. I'm aware Mistborn can do more. This is purely a discussion of Atium though. As I've said, Steel and Iron can largely nullify guns anyway. Another Atium question. Atium and Aluminum... What if Atium cannot predict the motions of an Aluminum object, or is blocked by Aluminum hats like Brass and Zinc.
  25. Again, this is for the Writers of the Future contest. I'd like to turn it in in about 3 months. Sorry its a bit long. It does go start to finish though.
