  1. So after seeing the "fourth" prologue scene, and reading the comments on here about them, i saw mention of a bunch of different theories from the other prologues. I was wondering if there was a list some where that had all the theories and/or cosmere tidbits that had been picked up from those? I read in the Way of Kings annotation that Sanderson feels he was too obvious with how he foreshadowed in them, and that means there has to be tons that I've missed. Anyways, if there isn't one big list already out there, would anyone care to share what they've found/theorized from them?
  2. So I have looked everywhere for an answer to this question. I have seen that Marasi could use a Cadmium bubble to slow time and make herself age slower so that she could live a lot longer than an actual lifespan. Since this is the case, why isn't Wayne actually a lot older, since time is being slowed around him?
  3. So I was looking at the old app QuizUp and was wondering if there was a section for Cosmere trivia questions. I was wondering if anyone would want to create a topic for that, or something similar like an app in the app store. It would be nice to have a little app or something to test Cosmere facts. If anyone would be willing to do this, it would be great! I mean they have a lot of other similar topics for series like ASOIAF, Shadowhunters, Percy Jackson, Divergent, Inheritance, etc. I feel like the Cosmere has way more potential than these.
  4. I thought the KR were created to emulate the abilities of the Heralds though? If that was the case then the Heralds have to have been around before the KR, and since we know KR destroyed their home world then they had to have existed before coming to Roshar. Am I missing something? The coppermind says they were created to copy what Honor gave the Heralds. Okay this really is not adding up. If Honor didn't give them the power of the surges until they reached Roshar, how did they managed to destroy their world?
  5. Since the KR are not originally from Roshar, and the KR were created to emulate the Heralds, did the Heralds come with them whenever they traveled to Roshar? Also, do we have any idea where they all originally came from?
  6. In the final empire Vin calls Mistborn "The heralds of the mists themselves". Could this be connected to the Heralds on Roshar? There are 10 heralds and for some reason I'm thinking there were 10 original beads of lerasium that created the Mistborn (couldn't find the actual number anywhere, but for some reason I feel like there were 10). They're both the first of their kind and have the most power as well. Any thoughts?
  7. If there was a place where the CS would be, wouldn't it be likely to be Roshar? Since we know the highstorms are a huge amount of investiture and they are of him? I can't think of anywhere else that still has Adonalsium investiture
  8. Okay I have had time to reflect. All of these answers are clearly incorrect. The true writer of Oathbringer is...
  9. I was also wondering if the chicken was an We already know Mraize is a worldhopper...
  10. I didn't even read the back of the book thing for way of Kings. I never knew that was said I really like this idea that Dalinar is the Champion. It fits in really well especially since we just saw his past and how consumed by the thrill he became. Also, I agree that Shallan just doesn't fit as the champion. She doesn't seem the type to hate. She just represses. She never even hated her father (that I can remember) and he did terrible things to her life. Although, the whole image with the red eyes could just be one of her lightweavings. Szeth being the hero would make sense, but he does have an orb of odiumlight (black stormlight?) and that could possibly mean something. But I doubt it since Nightblood would not bond with someone who is evil. Kaladin is consumed by hate but again he seems to be starting to change, since he is realizing some lighteyes are honorable. (However if Dalinar does turn, the impact on him will be incredible)
  11. I apologize, I was too excited after finding those chapters that I didn't even look and see if anyone else had spoken about this
  12. ***Spoilers for Chapter 1 and 2 of Oathbringer from Tor's website*** I was wondering who Odium's champion could be, the one with the eyes full of hate. And I feel like it is probably someone who themselves are very hateful. And I was thinking of all the major characters from the books. First of all I thought maybe Sadeas, but there a two major flaws in that. 1, he is dead and his body has been dead for a significant amount of time. 2, he wasn't really fueled by anger. He was scheming and manipulating but he wasnt doing it out of hatred. Taravangian is probably not it either. He is too unstable. Amaram did what he did because he felt it was the right thing to do, or that he was just greedy. But greed and hate aren't exactly the same. It could be Elhokar, because of the whole Jedi fear leads to hate thing. But I think there are other plans for him. I have heard people say Adolin because of the way he killed Sadeas but he didn't really kill him out of spite or hatred. He just realized that he was never gonna stop and so decided he needed to die. Kaladin has had a lot of hate throughout the entire series. Especially towards lighteyes. I could see an arc where he loses Syl for good and becomes consumed by his hatred. However, since he has seen Dalinar, Shallan, and Adolin all be lighteyed and honorable, I feel his views might (slowly) change. All the major bridge four characters seem like bad choices because they all pretty much worship Kaladin and they seem pretty honorable themselves. This made me think of Moash. That scene with him leaving the Shattered Plains cannot be the last time we saw him. And that man had more hate than anyone. I feel like Odium could pick him, and he would gladly accept the power to destroy the lighteyed civilization. Any thoughts? Any other candidates?
  13. Yall had me dying. But if we're doing other books too.. Kingkiller: Powder Mage: Harry Potter: Star Wars: Lorien Legacies: Mortal Instruments: Hunger Games: Game of Thrones:
  14. Okay so I saw a few of the Explain a Film Plot badly things earlier and thought they were funny, so I decided to do them for the cosmere books. I think some of them are funny, so I decided to share them. Hopefully it'll at least get a few laughs. If anyone has any more or any different ones, please post them. Spoilers for the cosmere, obviously. I'll label each one just in case though. The Final Empire: Well of Ascension: Hero of Ages: Alloy of Law: Shadows of Self: Bands of Morning: Warbreaker: Elantris: I couldn't think of any for Stormlight, hopefully someone else can [EDIT by Moderator: This topic originally was solely cosmere but has moved beyond that, so I moved this to Entertainment Discussion.]
  15. You have a point. But maybe kelsier knows a way to separate it and just didn't share it with the people? I mean, there's always another secret
  16. Maybe Ettmetal itself explodes on contact with water, but what about the stuff that is left over after Ettmetal burns? It could be used. Or maybe he found a way to separate it into lerasium and atium. I could see a lerasium / duralumin spike being used. About the fact that he would need it in order to exist anyways, maybe he got Spook or someone else to come spike his body for him, so he could come back. Then he would be resurrected in Southern Scadrial.

    Atium

The Hemalurgy would be the major problem here. It's possible, though not that likely, that the alloy of Atium electrum stores age. However, the likelihood of the alloy being able to steal any attribute is very low. Maybe not though. Maybe since it has a PART of Ruin in it, and since Hemalurgy is Ruins, then anything with atium in it can steal anything.
  18. Maybe the man wasn't Alethi at all.. Terris people are described as being tall. Maybe there was a terrisman there and Lift just thought he was Alethi cause of his height

    Atium

I thought the atium was processed before it went to the kandra? If that's the case then Preservation could have simply done that so that it would be easier to understand. I mean he did neglect to include metals that were impossible to create at the time (bendalloy and cadmium). So if he changed that then he easily could have changed it for the atium.
  20. Idk about eon, Google just said it was equal to a billion years. But now that I think about it, maybe he was mentioning life in general, including the life on Yolen. Idk why I thought billions of years on Scadrial made sense.
  21. While reading AoL I heard the name Arbitan (some constable Wax mentions from the Roughs) and it sounded very similar to Arsteel, one of the Five Scholars. Is it possible that they could be the same person? I mean we know they traveled off world and at least went to Roshar, but why would scholars only visit one planet? It seems interesting stuff is definitely happened on Scadrial, what with the two shards combining and the IRE involvement. The only thing is that idk the timeline for Warbreaker in respect to Mistborn.
  22. While this doesn't discount what you are saying, while reading the book (don't have exact quote bc it's audiobook) it was said that mankind was made eons ago at the end of Hero of Ages. An eon is a billion years. But it's true that they easily could've just made all the stuff we had to invent. I still wonder what possibly could have happened with the power. I mean someone had to take the power of a God and use it. So what could they have done with it? Feruchemy is the only thing I can think of but maybe there's something else. I mean Rashek was no one special and you can see what all he created.

If we both have the same theory separate from each other, then maybe there actually is something there. In Hero of Ages, spook addresses this topic. He says that at first he thinks that they aren't related, however whenever he used them both together he saw they complemented each other. The tin enhanced his senses and the pewter dulled them. Where does it say that electrum was discovered after atium? I know that he hid it from the general public, but that doesn't mean he didn't know about it. Just that he didn't want others to. It would make sense that if he knew it from the beginning, he would hide it. It makes atium near pointless and would drastically affect his economy if it was widespread. Also, it makes sense he would know ALL of the metals from the beginning, since he touched the power of Preservation. After all, he did learn where all the bind points for hemalurgy just from his time in the power, and they aren't even native to the power (although this was probably due to Ruins influence)

I just thought it might have been possible since the obligators tampered with the atium before it was given to the general public (at the end of hero of ages it says the obligators took the atium out of the geods in secret rooms before shipping them to luthadel). There was just time in between for something to have happened
