Long Game 55: Disquiet
Hemalurgic Headshot replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Correct me if I'm wrong, but you are saying that Rath is likely not an Elim because Steel was pressing for his lynch early on, but Stick is because Steel switched his vote later. Are you trying to propose that Steel voted on Stick in an attempt to soft clear her? Steel had expressed some suspicions of Stick for a while, so I wouldn't be so sure about Stick's Elim-ness. Also, it looks like because Bard died at the hands of Zane that the Tineye in my hypothesis was Vin rolling Tineye. This would make Rath Mistborn, and a legitimate target for Steel's vote. I need to look at the accumulated evidence against Stick before I move my vote.- 918 replies

Hemalurgic Headshot replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Um, what? Devotary did question how cleared I might actually be by the MB attack, because Coinshots, Lurcher, etc. are other possible ways of surviving a kill. I am Thug 2 though, but if anyone somehow believes that they are the reason I survived, not my masterful creation, please step forward. And also, who is ApatheticTeenager? This mid-game user change is throwing me off.- 918 replies

Long Game 55: Disquiet
Hemalurgic Headshot replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
This is probably the worst time to not have any super strong suspicions. Like Elandera said, if we're going to get Zane, we should start as soon as possible. I'm going to fall back on the hypothesis I've been referencing the entire game and pray it finally does something, because Rath is the last person alive who voted on Bard D1. Only one of the four needed to be evil, and now there is only one left. Granted, this means that Rath is Vin, because Vin has the possibility of getting Tineye 2, which is what this whole mess revolves around. However, that is only a possibility, but I'm going to cling to it having no other option. I've been kind of out of the whole PM loop that everyone's been talking about, so I have nothing other than this crazy plan. But, hoping I'll be vindicated*, Rath. *See what I did there?- 918 replies

Long Game 55: Disquiet
Hemalurgic Headshot replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I'm sad that Stink is dead. I enjoyed our PM. Joe's message confirms many of the suspicions I had about his abilities. If Elandera is a Rioter, Rae is dead, the remaining possible situations for my hypothesis to work is if CadCom or Rath is an Elim Tineye 2. Given the results of the Rae lynch, which seemed to me like an attempt to divert attention away from CadCom, I would be more inclined to say that he is the evil one of the two. However, I realize that there are several flaws in my hypothesis. The most glaring is that Bard's death, the centerpiece of this whole thing, was implied to be the work of the Mistborn. So, the Elims didn't kill Bard, and it wasn't an Elim Tineye voting for him. If this was the Mistborn's work, the odds of this playing out like I suppose become much slimmer. Vin would have to have chanced upon Tineye 2 D1, cast a vote out on Bard, then Zane offed him in the Night. Because there are only two Mistborn, a concerted effort to move the lynch from CadCom and onto Rae would be more indicative of Elims. Meaning, of the two suspects, CadCom and Rath, Rath is more likely to be a Mistborn (under the stars' alignment). That being said, CadCom is under suspicion as an Elim, yet I feel that Mistborn should be the Village's primary target.- 918 replies

Perhaps, or even both Mistborn (unlikely, but possible). This simply relies on an Elim or Mistborn voting on Bard, having Tineye 2, then telling their compatriots and killing Bard.- 918 replies

Long Game 55: Disquiet
Hemalurgic Headshot replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Thank you, CadCom, for making that vote count. I was about to make one myself, so thank you for sparing me the trouble. Since both Rand and Bard have turned up village, I decided to take a look at D1, since both of them had suspicions cast upon them Rand didn't have any votes on him when the Day ended, but I definitely remember that there was at least one vote on him at one point. I'm just too lazy to sort through all of the pages to find exactly who. Concerning the current lynch standings, why Coop? He only just posted this cycle. Both the tone and brevity of his first post indicate he was unable to post previously, so to suddenly turn on him is... a bit rude? The thing here, though, is that currently Rath and CadCom have placed vote on Coop with very little evidence (but what evidence can you have against someone who has barely posted?). Interestingly, both of them voted on Bard. I'd like to make the conjecture that Rath and Cadcom are part of the Elims or are in the very least working contrary to the Village. My reasoning for why the elims, or the Mistborn would be voting on Bard instead of bandwagoning on Araris is Bard's role. Thug 1 is a very powerful role for the village, thus when they failed to rouse a bandwagon against Bard, they instead offed him. And now they are going for the easy prey, Coop. This is obviously rough, but its what I've got. So, CadCom.- 918 replies

@Devotary of SpontaneityI couldn’t get back to you before turnover. By “determining factor,” I meant that if even all the Elims are dead, if Mistborn are still around the Village loses. Thus, the Mistborn determine Village victory.- 918 replies

Long Game 55: Disquiet
Hemalurgic Headshot replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Now that I've gone back and taken a deeper look at the drive behind the Araris lynch, the main criticism here is Araris' "stubbornness." A reluctance to switch votes, shift perspective, and as Straw says, "discouraging discussion." All of these things can be seen in Araris' actions. The core of Araris' argument is that someone has to die for the game to progress, and for the time being, a dead Elim and a dead Mistborn are virtually the same (so we shouldn't value one over the other?). This mirrors my feelings about D1 in any game (death is one of the best ways to get information), but this philosophy can only be taken so far. However, this lynch isn't about philosophical differences, but actions. It has been how Araris has gone about it, not necessarily his rationale, that has vilified him in the eyes of so many. With this, I can see the leading argument for lynching him. Thus in the spirit of Araris' own words, Araris.- 918 replies

Let me just throw in my two boxings. Joe has a secret role of some kind, most of us can agree on this. However, what's the fun in a secret role that can't be used? What a wasted effort it would be to have a strange and mysterious role and not have it used! So please, don't lynch Joe. I'm curious to see what will happen. Lum's roleclaim is kind of... weird? Why? It's D1. If I had a role like that, I would have waited until a more opportune moment to spring that tasty info on the thread. Now, of the leading candidates, I don't understand the rationale behind Rand. Maybe I missed something. Lum... jury's out for now. The claim was strange, like I said, but lynchworthy? Probably not. I've already mentioned Joe. And just in: Araris. I also don't get the Araris vote. I get what he's saying about Mistborn; they are the determining factor in the village's victory. Since I can't decide, I'll leave my vote on Straw.- 918 replies

A single vote does not bother Makail. He has received criticism before, as any artist does. Don't ask about the critics. Straw. The weakest and least architecturally minded pig made his house from straw. True, we have sticks too, but they are better than straw. Also, straw burns more easily than sticks. I believe I have made my case clear.- 918 replies

Long Game 55: Disquiet
Hemalurgic Headshot replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Makail suddenly realized why the river was important. It was never to be the subject of his project, but the conclusion! Normally, Makail let fate decide how his projects ended, but this time he would use the constant of the River Channerel to sweep both the bodies and his project away. A symbolic and poignant conclusion--the makings of a masterpiece! Filled with determination, Makail stood and walked away from the river. He was probably going to kill some people.- 918 replies

Long Game 55: Disquiet
Hemalurgic Headshot replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
The death of the Lord Ruler made things more fun for Makail. Under the new... king? Elmo, his name was? Honestly, Makail didn't care who was running Luthadel these days, he simply knew that it was now much less likely to have an Inquisitor after him. Of course, the Lord Ruler's death had been a key reason for Makail's current state of employment, but he had decided to look on the bright side. Which meant projects. Makail perched on a roof overlooking the River Channerel. The soot-slogged water drifted on its course, off to the ocean somewhere. Every now and then, there was a boat too. Makail sat in thought, considering what marvelous project that he would cook up this time. He knew it had to involve the river; it was its theme. But how did one exactly turn a large body of water into a trap for Mistborn? or an Inquisitor, or just an ordinary Allomancer, Makail wasn't picky. He had already considered explosives (the water would render them useless), collapsing bridges (too hard, those bridges are just built too well!), and fire (again, with the water). Thus Makail pondered.- 918 replies

Long Game 55: Disquiet
Hemalurgic Headshot replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Meanwhile, at an undisclosed location, Makail was wrapping up one of his "pet projects." By that, he means the tediously balanced and interlocked disks of stone and iron rods he had inserted into the side of a building, within the brickwork, perfectly placed so that if an unknowing Coinshot or Lurcher flew past... The entire building would collapse. Makail was partially beside himself with amusement. It was an interesting feeling to have, being partially beside oneself. He had never done anything of this magnitude before! The intricacy, the engineering feat! Truly, one could call this art. Makail did. Finally, he was finished. Wiping the dust on his pants, Makail leaned back to admire his work. Hardly noticeable! Perfect. With that, he leaped off the wall and landed with a whoomph of ash on the ground. He glanced back up at the wall. It was even harder to tell it was there from below. Incredibly pleased with himself, he set off for the next project.- 918 replies

The stadium. What Taya had mentioned. Though he had never personally been to Edmonton, even before Calamity, all it had taken was a quick and quiet call with the Circle and the stadium’s location was now highlighted on the dashboard’s screen. According to Taya, Nate had known the stadium was where Kokichi had been teleported by Jade and Nathan. More than a little suspicious, Liam thought. Then why wasn’t Nate leading? He glanced at the side mirror at the red car tailing him. Perhaps Nate wanted the comfort of a big bulletproof shield between him and any danger they might encounter. That made sense to Liam. It wasn’t terribly long before the Commonwealth stadium could be seen peeking over the trees. He heard Taya stirring in the backseat as they approached. He scanned the vacant parking lot. A terrible place to park. Instead, Liam pulled the van behind a house across the street and parked. With a tap, he locked the dash controls and activated Parallax mode. He glanced back at Taya as he grabbed the shotgun. “We’ve arrived. You can stay here if you’d like--don’t bleed all over the place--but I’m leaving.”

Mog takes the trout from AE gratefully. What beautiful specimens! Thank you! Please take these 5 Eggs as payment. May I suggest an amendment to the Rule of Locations? Instead of complicating the game board with different Shardworlds, the board instead represents the local landscape: a field, forest, river, and village. I have no idea what these regions would do, but that doesn’t matter to me. Is anyone interested in purchasing the doorknobs?- 553 replies

Nomic - A Forum Game
Hemalurgic Headshot replied to MetaTerminal's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Since it has now been two pages since I posted last, I come forward on behalf of the currently informal Merchants Guild to present the Wandering Commerce Addendum. According to the Trading Rule (Rule 8), players may exchange points/Eggs for goods and services, or simply gift points. Due to the nature of the Merchants Guild, it is only appropriate that Merchants have a particular obligation to the act of buying and selling. Thus, the Wandering Commerce Addendum: Wandering Merchants can post consecutively without losing the status of Wandering Merchant if the following posts pertain only to the selling of the Merchant's wares. This allows for players to bargain and counteroffer with the Merchant appropriately. Bears. [so it rhymes] In addition, I wish to gain formal recognition for the Merchants Guild. The Merchants Guild Act creates an official institution comprising of Wandering Merchants and offers a medium through which the goals of the collective Merchants may be accomplished. After reading through Meta's list of current and proposed rules, I have noticed that the Wandering Merchant Exclusion is not present. @MetaTerminal, is this an error? I know that there is at least one vote supporting it (yours :P).- 553 replies

I would like to propose the Wandering Merchant Exception. The Wandering Merchant Exception has the following clauses: A player posting for the first time in the thread "Nomic - A Forum Game" [hereafter referred to as the Thread] is considered a "Wandering Merchant." After their first post, a player must not post at all in the Thread for no less than 24 hours or until two new pages have been added since that player posted previously. A player is only considered a Wandering Merchant for that singular post; any subsequent posts by that player in the Thread will remove the Wandering Merchant modifier if they do not meet the spacing requirements. Wandering Merchants are exempt from punishments or restrictions exacted by rules. This prevents new players from immediately becoming invalidated. Attempts to infringe on the speech, expression, or influence of a Wandering Merchant by any player is rendered null and void. Wandering Merchants have the ability to grant Side Quests to a specific player. Wandering Merchants have a limit of one Side Quest per post. Side Quests award the chosen player an amount of Eggs upon completion. As follow-up, I would like to propose the Wandering Merchant Neutrality Act. Wandering Merchants are unable to call UNO or attempt to punish any other player while a Wandering Merchant.- 553 replies
