  1. I feel like death. Iäm probably not gonna get it to my house until the 16th (screw you sweden)
  2. I love the way you drew this (and youre right she can be 50 and look absolutely beautiful). This also made me think about whether modesty becomes less important as you age? If im not wrong, some religions don't think you need to be as modest when you grow older (aka 50+). Would that mean that elderly women in Alethkar could show their freehand?
  3. Legs cut off. I'm lying in my bed reading 60% of the time anyways. Would you rather go 1 day a week without food or one week each month with food you absolutely hate for a year?
  4. gosh thank you! I'm so excited
  5. !!!! WHAT !!!!!!
  6. Thats the struggle I love brandon, but translating his books must be hard. I mean 1000 pages:/ Ayyyy But are they sure That sounds so cosy I wish my parents were into reading, wed be the perfect cosmere family The Sanderson curse You could try to make him read his short stories theyre so amazing and they take 4 hours max to read
  7. I'm so invested in all of Brandon Sandersons book all i do is recommend them to my friends/family. My parents probably know the entire plot to stormlight archive/mistborn/the reckoners and ive managed to make 2 of my friends read the way of kings, and many more of them have agreed to read his 'short' stories. I'm just wondering if anyone else is like this? I havent been able to make myself like any fantasy books, and since Brandon Sanderson was the first adult writer i read ive ditched ya fiction too. I even tried reading the name of the wind but never managed to finish it, not because it was badbad but the fact that it takes the author ages to write one book puts me off
  8. That was beautifully said
  9. Dang it! Yes i knew about that but I forgot that it happened because i never connected the dots while reading WoR. Well, Kaladin and Vivenna then.
  10. Kaladin and Vasher
  11. ah what the hell, ive reread these books three times already but i bet im still gonna rust my pants when this is revealed edit: didnt know about the curse filters.
  12. No i dont think he knew, he was a smart man but, Dalinar and Kaladin are smart men too, and theyre still weirded out by a man reading/writing, so i dont think he did. Dalinar only thinks so because of Szeths writing.
  13. youre all going to have to stop theorising Adolins death Edit: Ive given up on my theories, i probably wont be expecting the plot twists anyway.
  14. I mixed them up. Too many Colin F.'s
  15. from Brandon's site? id guess a few weeks for it to get signed, then another 2-3 weeks for it to reach here, maybe 1,5 months? Akademibokhandeln answered btw- they said you could order the book after its been released, but i'll just go for Adlibris instead, less fuss. That sucks, makes sense though as he'd probably get a ton of request for new releases.
  16. John as Shuden, love it! Sarene would be someone tall, right? I cant decide whether shes talltall (180-200) or if shes just 'tall' (170cm) and everyone else just short. Either way, for some reason i cant stop seeing amanda seyfried as sarene? and charlie cox as hrathen (colin firth is good)
  17. Ive wanted a signed copy from his website but im not patient enough to wait months, especially not oathbringer Ill ask akademibokhandeln, worst case ill have to go to malmö and buy it there.
  18. Which website? Are you getting it in sci-fi bokhandeln? or are you gonna wait for a while before purchasing it on adlibris or something? Im going to try to ask akademibokhandeln but there have been more 'anticipated' english releases of books that took days to come to the store.
  19. Nope, i live a good 40min from Malmö, but do you think Akademibokhandeln might provide it on release if i ask?
  20. I live in sweden too, my biggest fear is that they wont sell oathbringer in my local bookstore the day of its release, or that ill have to wait two weeks for internet shipping.
  21. So I was reading the Tor analysis (X) for the way of kings as I've finally managed to make two of my friends buy and read the books with me in a reread (for them it would be the first time). In the commentary the author writes that Kaladin is more honourable than Dalinar, while I've always felt that it was the other way around. Dalinar constantly tries to do the right thing and not jump to conclusions- While Kaladin is very often (in my opinion) driven by his emotions (even though he got over that in WOR after he decided to not kill Elhokar). Im just wondering how Kaladin can be more honourable than Dalinar (other than the fact that he has an honourspren and is supposed to be honourable - i just feel like Kaladins non honourable actions weigh more than Dalinars)
  22. No its fine, i feel the same way! But I believe brandon sanderson once mentioned altho being south asian? (?) But then asia is so diverse- there are pale asians too. Thank you! No one mentioned how the parshendi have been drawn. I believe this is why Brandon has been careful mentioning that the parshendi is pale/black/red and that its actually BLACK and not brown. Things like that in movies/books etc is problematic because it inserts stereotypes in peoples head even if they dont realise it - if you repeatedly see middle easterns in TV depicted as evil some people are going to believe that too. Ive seen her fanart! I love it! Im happy there are stormlight archive fanart like that, with diversity. Thats completely fine to me tbh, my biggest issue is literally making everyone white and then draw the parshendi black
  23. Nice point, I think it would be obvious if Kaladin was protective over Shallan like that - While Adolin is the ''you're not going to get even the tiniest scratch on you'' Kaladin is more ''just as long as you're not dead its fine''. Probably because Kaladin has a medical background and would know what to do if someone gets hurt- and hed know its not too serious either. Adolin might not understand just how tough Shallan is, and being overprotective like that can be slightly annoying.
  24. This might be, over the top and ''its not that deep'', but i've noticed a few things in stormlight archive fanart. Firstly, most of the mains except Shallan are tan, and people still draw them as white, thats _fine_. That's okay. But when I see everyone else drawn as pale/white but the parshendi drawn as a black person with red spots on their skin, i don't know, it sits wrong with me? Since the parshendi have pale, black and red marbles on their skin, I've never imagined them as even having the texture of something human looking. And people often forget the pale marbles and just draw them as mainly black. Is this just me overreacting? I know its just fanart, but Sandersons books are the only books I've read with actual written diversity that isn't written for a plot, they just are brown, black or white. And then if people like to imagine Alethi as white or pale, thats okay, but the parshendis marbled skin is so often brought up (Shallans pale skin and red hair might be brought up a little more often) Also i'm not judging anyones drawings or anything- I think every drawing of stormlight archive is pretty and i probably shouldn't complain like i am. Im just wondering if others have noticed the same thing. (There are very good 'accurate' (?) drawings of the parshendi too, i saw a really cool one the other day)
  25. It WOULD make sense when you put it like that, but isn't Renarin supposed to be the smarter one of the two? Thats why I doubt its Renarin. I'm just speculating by saying the mains are gonna be on odiums side - it would make more sense for it to be Eshonia. And about Adolin being scared of anything new - he still did kill Sadeas. And we have no idea how hes going to change after that - I'm expecting a mental struggle. And I have no idea if that struggle is going to make Adolin more like Dalinar is now or more like Dalinar used to be before. I doubt Dalinar would let Adolin go down a bad path though. It's not something I want either as hes one of my favorite characters. And about Adolin not becoming a villain - makes sense. Hes probably the kindest one out of the lighteyes. While Dalinar is more righteous and honorable, Adolin is loyal and kind. I'm really hoping they all survive until the end.
