Quick Fix 45: To Set an Example
StrikerEZ replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Okay, here's an updated vote count: Frozen Mint (2): Lotus, Vapor, Mist (4): TJ Shade, Ashbringer, Striker, Eternum Fifth Scholar (4): Devotary, Lahilt, Mist, Frozen Mint It's kind of interesting that as soon as Mist became a valid lynch target, Vapor decides to switch (back?) over to Frozen Mint. It could simply be because Vapor really did like Mist's reasoning for voting on Frozen Mint, but I wonder if they're elims together? It could also be because they're sisters and Vapor is following Mist's lead, who has been playing a bit longer. I'm not sure what to do with this observation right now, but just wanted to get it out there. Also, I'm perfectly fine with how the lynch is set up right now.- 589 replies

Quick Fix 45: To Set an Example
StrikerEZ replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Okay, I started working on a big post, and then a bunch of stuff came up, so I'm scrapping that for now because I am very tired and there isn't a whole lot of time left in the cycle for me to give my thoughts. Based on what I did get a chance to look at though before I had to do things and lost all brain power to keep reading, I'm not a fan of how Shard of Reading and Mist were acting in that first cycle, seeming to basically sheep Straw's ideas out of nowhere. For now, seeing as it appears no one else really wants to lynch Frozen Mint right now, I'm going to vote for Mist. Also, here's a vote count for now: Frozen Mint (1): Lotus, Mist (4): TJ Shade, Vapor, Ashbringer, Striker, Fifth Scholar (4): Devotary, Lahilt, Mist, Frozen Mint- 589 replies

Quick Fix 45: To Set an Example
StrikerEZ replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Any vote is better than a no-vote. Just vote on who you think could be an elim, even if the reasoning is literally just “I don’t think this person is a villager.” It’s always better to have a vote than not, in my opinion. I will 100% admit that my tunneling was too narrow. I was hoping that it’d cause people (hopefully elims) to come out to your defense and such, but there hasn’t been a big pushback against your lynch like I was hoping for, so I’m going to trust you for now. Plus it seems like no one wants to lynch you right now. As for other players, I could get behind lynching any of Mist, Devotary, Lotus, Shard of Reading, Frozen Mint (who I’m still currently voting for), or Straw. I’m gonna go back through and reread everything that’s happened so far and give a more comprehensive reads list, though I don’t expect it to shake up anything too much.- 589 replies

Is no one else going to vote? It’s been 18+ hours since my post, and that’s literally the only vote so far. I am not confident in my reasoning skills to be comfortable being the only one who decides who gets lynched.- 589 replies

I'm going to do a full GM Thoughts™ post sometime in the next few days, but for now I just want to say congrats to the village for pulling off that win! And thank you so much everyone for playing! This was so much fun to run, even if it was so absolutely chaotic and messy. Also, please go show your love for Bard by upvoting the writeup. Without his help as my co-GM, this game would've failed miserably.

Okay, the game is over! No more posting or submitting actions! I'll get the aftermath up as soon as possible!
-
I'll be signing up! I'll try to come up with a character at some point.

Quick Fix 45: To Set an Example
StrikerEZ replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well, I wasn’t even around to see that almost swing onto me. That’s...interesting. Was Devotary the only one who voted on me for a reason besides just tone, or did I miss the others’ reasoning while I was skimming through the end of the thread? Also, the choice to kill Gears seems a bit enlightening to me. So far all of our killed players have been semi-active to pretty active. Could the elims possibly be inactive players? Maybe they’re also semi-active? First of all, I am really not a fan of how quickly that lynch shifted off of Frozen Mint. Obviously people aren’t going to lynch TJ, so I’ll go for another player I suspect who people have previously expressed a desire to lynch and who all of a sudden had a sudden shift off of them last minute.- 589 replies

Quick Fix 45: To Set an Example
StrikerEZ replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
There have been a lot of discussions every now and then about what to change the colors to, it at all. I think a red/blue set of colors would probably work pretty well. I’m not sure. I wish I knew, because it would make it a lot easier to convince people you’re a villager if there was an easy way to say “this is how you defend yourself.” I do like how you’ve responded to my accusations though. I put more pressure on you then I really felt I needed to to get a reaction out of you. I still have a weird feeling about you, but I’m starting to believe it’s might be because I’m tunneling on you. I’ll be leaving my vote where it is because I don’t have as strong of suspicions on anyone else yet.- 589 replies

Quick Fix 45: To Set an Example
StrikerEZ replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
It’s because of the timing and the manner in which you voted for Pyro. You say it was in self preservation, but you hadn’t seriously been a possibility for getting lynched since Pyro voted on himself. Maybe you missed that, and maybe your vote was mostly placed because of the filter. If that’s the case, then your vote makes a little more sense. It is mostly a gut read. I do think that most of it is because of how defensive you’ve been. Obviously, a villager can and would be defensive because they know their own alignment, but the level at which you’re being defensive just seems a bit much. As if you’re scrambling to try and prevent a lynch on you because you really really don’t want to die. Which, normally, tends to be more of an elim tactic. Of course, I could end up being totally wrong, and I’ll have to rethink everything in this game so far if that’s the case.- 589 replies

Quick Fix 45: To Set an Example
StrikerEZ replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Okay, I’m not surprised about Pyro, but the choice to kill Mat is interesting. Someone smarter than me can probably figure that out. First off, I’m pretty certain that there’s probably one elim who voted on TJ Shade, simply because I highly doubt that all of the elims would vote on one player who happens to be a villager. If I had to take a bet on who it is, I’d place a bet on it being Lotus, with maybe Ventyl being my second choice. Mostly by process of elimination, as it obviously can’t be me and I’ve been reading Eternum as slightly village so far. Next, I’m going to assume we have five elims. Four seems like way too few for 22 players, and six seems like too much considering that the village doesn’t have any roles to balance out the fact that the elims can coordinate together. Now, I’m going to make a bold statement. Assuming that none of the elims are inactive (hopefully having access to a doc would motivate players to vote to stay alive), we can rule out Experience and Sparkrunner as candidates for the other four elims. Now, this leaves us with four elims and 12 people to choose from. I think our best candidates for the elims are those who joined once it was fairly obvious that Pyro would be lynched (with probably one or maybe two before that point). So, those players are Gears, Ashbringer, Straw, Vapor, Shard of Reading, Mist, TJ Shade, The_Truthwatcher, Frozen Mint, Fifth Scholar, Devotary of Spontaneity, and Lahilt. Unfortunately, the list Orlok has posted isn't in the order of who voted on who, so I'm going to need to go through and figure that out real quick. Here's the order of votes on Pyro: Gears, Matrim's Dice, Straw, Shard of Reading, Vapor, The Truthwatcher, Lahilt, Pyro, Frozen Mint, Ashbringer, Fifth Scholar, Mist, Devotary, and TJ Shade. Okay, so I went ahead and italicized the votes that felt odd while I skimmed the thread looking for the votes on Pyro. And I'm realizing that every single one of those players has played less than 4 games, I believe. Hmm...I highly doubt that all of these inexperienced players are all elims together. I find Shard's and TJ's votes the most suspicious of those votes though. Which leaves me with Gears, Straw, Lahilt, Frozen Mint, Fifth, and Devotary. I think Gears has shown a lot of promise so far and I like the way they've been analyzing things, so I'm going to trust them for now. Fifth has put a lot of effort into analyzing everything which...is, admittedly, NAI for him, so I guess I'll keep considering him. Straw was one of the more vocal supporters of lynching Pyro, so I'll keep him as a possibility. I think I'll take out Lahilt mostly because the reasoning for their vote seemed alright to me. I'll be leaving Frozen Mint in because of the timing of her vote, almost right after Pyro voted on himself. Could easily see that as an elim thinking something along the lines of, "well, if he's going to vote on himself, may as well join in." I'm going to take out Devotary as well because the timing of her votes seems just too obvious for an elim, always right near the end of a bandwagon (though it seems like that might be the only time she can get on to the shard as well, unless I'm misreading the things she's posted). Okay, all that mess leaves me with...Straw, Frozen Mint, and Fifth. If I had to take a guess as to which of those players isn't an elim (assuming two of them must be), I'd take out Fifth. My best guess as of right now for the elim team is MysticLotus/Ventyl, TJ Shade, Shard of Reading, Straw, and Frozen Mint.- 589 replies

Quick Fix 45: To Set an Example
StrikerEZ replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Basically, once a person is lynched or killed, flipping means we find out if they were a villager or an elim. So if someone says “you’re going to flip village” they mean “when you die, we’ll find out you were a villager.” Hope this helps.- 589 replies

Quick Fix 45: To Set an Example
StrikerEZ replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I will gladly lynch TJ next cycle at this point, regardless of how you flip once this cycle is over. Their reasoning has just felt really off to me so far. I’m fairly confident it’s not because I’ve boxed them in as an elim in my head, though I guess that’s always a possibility. As for my post that you quoted, I do think it’s possible that you are an elim. I’ve been giving you the benefit of the doubt so far though, but I don’t deny that there is some evidence that seems a bit odd. But, I think TJ is more likely to be an elim. And at this point, almost half of the votes on you at this point are simply because of the bandwagon, which will make it harder to analyze why they voted for you once you flip. I meant to respond to this earlier, but multiquoting across pages doesn’t really work on mobile.- 589 replies

Quick Fix 45: To Set an Example
StrikerEZ replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
First off, I actually did post C1, before you did your first post that cycle. You even quoted me in that post. It’s fine that you don’t remember it, because there really wasn’t a whole lot of substance to it. Secondly, I will admit that I was being a bit dramatic earlier to make a point. Obviously there are other ways to get reads on people besides seeing how and why they vote for certain players, but that is a lot of how I determine who I’m suspicious of, and saying that that method of getting reads isn’t super effective until players flip kind of set me on edge. Anyway, I don’t think the lynch train is going to switch at this point and I don’t particularly suspect Pyro, so I’m just going to leave my vote where it is.- 589 replies

Quick Fix 45: To Set an Example
StrikerEZ replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
This is...an interesting development, to say the least. I really don’t think we’re going to gain much from lynching Pyro at this point. There’s way too many votes on him, and the vote for himself is just obfuscating things even more. I still think that TJ would be a better lynch target than Pyro, but I doubt the lynch is gonna shift that drastically in the next hour and a half.- 589 replies

StrikerEZ replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I think you’re misreading what I’m trying to say? From how I read TJ’s post, it seems like he was the one saying you should wait until a player flips to make a read on people who voted for them. Which...no. That’s not how it works. I’m sorry if I made it sound like I was supporting that somehow.- 589 replies

StrikerEZ replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
What I’m saying is that it isn’t an elim move necessarily to vote on someone because they have different reads than you. If you think someone’s reads are coming from a place of them being an elim, then you’re perfectly justified in voting in them.- 589 replies

So does no one else find this part of TJ’s post super suspicious? Is it just me? Like, the whole point of this game is that you would vote on someone you think is voting for someone who’s a villager. Mist TJ. I also feel like a lot of their posts since then have been really weird too. Also, we should probably make sure to not talk about games that are still running, even if we’re dead in them.- 589 replies

Nah, I hated it, but I love it too much to let it go. .....this was a mistake. I didn’t notice it in my blind panic about the fact that the shard kept crashing while I was trying to do rollover.

Just so you guys are aware, Emi did not in fact come back to life, just copied the wrong player list.

Pyria Young was doing this for her father. She had to remind herself of that every few hours or so. She was gaining these nice people's trust because she had to stop them from completely taking over Elendel. She just had to keep this up for a little bit longer, keep the others from suspecting her, then she could find a way to escape when no one was looking- "Pyria, are you listening?" One of the others asked her in a loud whisper, shocking her out of her thoughts. "Yes, yes, I'm listening." She said. She noticed that they were all crouched down, looking around with scared looks on their faces. "What's going on?" She whispered back. "The Kandra." Reginald says quickly. "We think it's out there in the hallways, waiting for one of us to come out." Pyria gulped, quickly scooting on over to them and pulling a dagger out of her pocket. It happened in an instant, the door bursting open, a shape flying into the room, pain spreading across her body as the monster tore into her. It barely looked recognizable at this point, the features distorted to hide its identity. The others managed to get the monster off of her, and it ran away. Reginald and Lumen seemed to be hurt, but everyone else seemed alright. The others began to treat her wounds, and they froze. Pyria looked at them with weary eyes as the pain and shock made it hard to see. And then she remembered. They were staring at the loyalist pin hidden in her shirt, which they had ripped to try and treat her wounds. "Please," she began to beg weakly. "I don't want to die. I'm the last one, I swear, I swear, just please don't let me die." For a moment, she worried they would leave her there. Then, they got back to work on treating her wounds. She didn't mean to, but she passed out at some point. ~ Sometime later, she woke up in the main room of the building, a crowd of people surrounding her. Darson himself was there, and Reginald and the others were talking to him. "Sir, she is just a child. We found some letters in her room, and it seems that she was just doing this because of her father. Plus, we believe she's the last one." Darson nodded, then turned to look at her. He was the only one who had noticed she was awake so far. His eyes stared into hers, and Pyria swore that she felt no emotion from them. "I understand your concern for the child," Darson said to the group, raising his voice so everyone would hear him, "but, even so, she has lied to you. There is still at least one traitorous loyalist among us. The first one I caught told me how many were in this building with us after some...persuasion." Pyria gulped, her heart hammering. "Until then, I believe I can persuade young Pyria here," Darson stepped towards her, holding out his hand for her to grab, "to let us know who remains. Until then, you may do whatever you can to find the last of them. Good luck." He gave a wicked smile to the group, pulling Pyria behind him. The Young Pyromancer has been killed! They were a Loyalist Tineye/Sentry Twinborn! Magestar was attacked, but survived! Mist was attacked, but survived! PMs are no longer open! Please do not send anymore PMs. There will be a lynch this turn. As a reminder, there is no vote minimum for the lynch, and a tie vote will result in one of the tied players being lynched randomly. The turn will end at 9 pm CDT on June 23rd. The next turn will be posted as soon as possible. Player List: PMs will be sent out as soon as possible.

That's it, the turn is over! No more posting, submitting actions, or PMing!

Quick Fix 45: To Set an Example
StrikerEZ replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Sorry for not getting on before rollover. I spent most of the morning doing father's day stuff then reading, spent the beginning of the afternoon reading, took a nap, had dinner, and then realized I'd forgotten about the game. I'm caught up now and am gonna give some of my thoughts on players based on some impressions I got on reading through the 5 pages of C1 I missed. Gears: Okay, I don't really remember much of their posts, so just gonna put neutral for now. Matrim's Dice: I've been a huge fan of the way they've been going about analyzing the game, though I don't quite remember most of their reads so far. Ashbringer: I remember they've posted a little bit, but they've been pretty busy and haven't posted a whole lot. Straw: A lot of the C1 discussion either centered around Straw or was led by him. This is starting to become a normal for him, I think, so it's mostly NAI in my opinion. However, the things he was saying and doing that weren't necessarily linked to the fact that he was super involved in the discussion make me lean village on him. Vapor: I'm personally willing to give her the benefit of the doubt in regards to the vote flipping as she's a new player, but we'll see how the game progresses. Shard of Reading: Have they even posted? If not, @Shard of Reading Mist: They've posted maybe one or two times, but their votes were really weird if I remember correctly. I think I'm leaning elim, and for now I'll put my vote on Mist. Lord_Silberfarben - Skaa TJ Shade: Similar thoughts to Matrim basically. I've been liking the analysis they've been putting out, but I don't really remember much of the substance itself at this point. Okay, just got ninja'd by Mint and Matrim...did I miss something while reading TJ's posts? They seemed pretty normal to me, though I wasn't reading anything too deeply, just trying to get through it so I could start working on this post. The_Truthwatcher: I remember feeling slightly village about them, but not sure why. Eternum: Really sound logic from what I remember, though again, I can't remember much of the specifics. MysticLotus: New player, and I couldn't really get a solid read on anything about them so far. The Young Pyromancer: Normally their voting patterns would've set off some alarm bells for me, but I think it's mostly NAI for them. At least for now. This kind of seems to be their normal style from what I've seen of them so far, regardless of alignment. Experience: Have they posted yet? If not, @Experience Frozen Mint: I think I understand why some people would've considered their vote on Gears a bit hasty, but it has to be considered under the fact that it was so early in the cycle that it was probably the most well thought out vote of the game so far at that point. Seems pretty NAI to me. Their response to the questions asked of them seemed okay, though they're probably experienced enough to be able to sound village as an elim under pressure. Ventyl: Seeing as he's my brother and we share a similar sense of humor, I'm not going to read too much into the whole "Hey fellow villagers, how are you doing on this fine day, villagers?" shtick he's got going on in his first and only post. It's a very extreme version of something I have done myself in the past (on both sides). I don't quite understand his vote on Lahilt though. Fifth Scholar: I actually agreed with their first post of last cycle and meant to express that agreement in thread but got distracted yesterday and then didn't check the thread at all today, until a couple hours ago. So the vote train on them seemed a bit odd to me reading back through the thread. Especially considering that it seemed like such flimsy reasoning for the votes. Though, I guess that's why the train dispersed so quickly as well. Maybe we should be cautious about those who so quickly voted and then unvoted for Fifth? Could be elims just looking for an easy lynch then backing off under the pressure. Devotary of Spontaneity: Normally I'd be very suspicious of their vote for Silberfarben based on the timing of it (I think they broke the tie between Pyro and Silb?), but I Devotary is experienced enough that I think she'd be more cautious about saving a teammate so blatantly like that on only D1. The only scenario I could really see an elim!Devotary/elim!Pyro team is if the team is smaller than I would otherwise assume, so every elim's life really matters a lot. For now though, I'm leaning village on Devotary because I don't think elim!Devotary would've voted when and how she did. Xinoehp512 - Skaa StrikerEZ: Obviously not an elim. Lahilt: I don't really have any thoughts about them at all. I know they've posted, it just didn't leave an impression on me. Sparkrunner: I don't think they've posted at all. @Sparkrunner Well, this took me a lot longer than I expected. I hope some of this made sense, because I wrote it over the course of about an hour and 45 minutes.- 589 replies

Correction, there was an error in the black market listings. There is one more steel trap in the black market.
