  1. Steelheart. Because his metal doesn't rust.
  2. Bouncy balls. Those little rubber balls.
  3. The results for our auditions came out around an hour ago. I stayed in the top band! Of course, I'm second chair of two bass clarinets, but whatever. I made it, that's all that matters.
  4. Two men walk into a bar. The first, one being a chemist, says, "I'll have some H20, please." The bartender gives him H2O. The second man, trying to act cool, says, "I'll have some H2O, too." The bartender gives him H2O as well, because he's not a murderous bartender that just so happens to have H2O2 handy. I wish I could do subscript, instead of having to write it out like that.
  5. I seem to have the uncanny ability to forget really important tasks until right before the talks is supposed to be completed or after it was supposed to be completed. But, I also have the strange ability to remember really unimportant things, such as the names of every Skylanders from any of the games, or to remember exactly what someone said, though that one is a bit harder. Also, I have photographic memory (kind of) when it comes to sheet music. Last summer, when we got our music for our marching show, it took me an hour to memorize the first page of our opener (like the first movement of our show). I can imagine the music in my head still. And the music from the year before. I also have the ability to be completely ignored, even when I keep trying to talk, a group won't even notice me. This also works in reverse, as that a person or group may try to get my attention, but they can't. I can't activate this by will, it just happens most of the time, however there are obvious times when it takes no effort for me to be noticed or notice people. I have the strange ability to be able to completely tune out conversations and hear words that might apply to me or appeal to me, and somehow recall everything that they were talking about. In reverse, I can also focus on something and listen to a conversation at the same time, without even meaning too. I'm really not trying to eavesdrop, it just happens. I can tell when people are walking near me or towards me. My brother tries to sneak up on me all the time, but I always manage to catch him. This seems to apply to everyone's except my mom, who can always sneak up on me, no matter what. Which is surprising, because when she gets mad she gets REALLY loud.
  6. I'm currently waiting for the results from the band auditions right before Christmas break started to come out so I can see if I stayed in the top band. I'm pretty sure I did, but the wait is always so suppenseful. It's also always so cool when you wait and get really good results. Of course, they told us results would be up last Friday. Then they said over the weekend. Then they said today...I'm getting annoyed now.
  7. Oh my gosh, that's awesome
  8. Yeah, I see what you mean. It's also like the quote (pardon me if it's not exact) "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Or something similar to that.
  9. Don't worry, I've already figured out what was offensive about my post. I guess this was just a good learning experience for me so that next time, I don't make the same mistake. So, to get back on topic: -When you search for something for five minutes, then realize you were holding it or that it was in front of you the entire time. -When you walk into a room and forget why you walked into the room. Or when you open your mouth to speak and completely forget what you were going to say. -When you stub your toe against something, ranging from mild pain (a book) to horrible pain (wall-though not sure how this happened, it's happened to me before). -When you think you have to use the restroom, but then when you get there you don't have to. -When a notification pops up at the bottom of the screen, so you go to it. Then you leave to another page, where you notice that you have a new notification on the bell. But turns out it was the same notification from before. I'm new, but that's gonna get annoying.
  10. Yeah, I get what you're saying. I just feel bad because I was acting like an idiot when I typed that, and I don't like to offend people. Of course, it's too late now, so there's nothing I can do. The damage has been done. And I'm sorry for it.
  11. Oh, I meant that I'd get rid of what I wrote and just replace it with nothing. But that was before I discovered the hide feature. If everyone agrees I should hide it (which I think they will), then I'll hide it. Whatever that means. I know I've said this several times now, but the content of my post wasn't meant to be offensive. Of course, the whole good intentions rule applies here.
  12. I'm sorry to anyone that felt offended by anything I said in that post; part of it was the fact I was up late (in my time zone). I wasn't trying to be rude or offensive, I was just stating my opinions. Again, I'm really sorry if I truly offended anyone, that wasn't my intention. I can see how my post could be read as rude or aggressive towards this people I mentioned, but I remember trying to add humor to it, to show that I wasn't trying to be hateful towards them. Maybe it just showed up as snarky sarcasm, and that's my fault for not proofreading if it did. I just wanna say that I don't hate anyone for doing any of these things and that I was being a bit in the extreme side of my arguments (which, honestly, have no real merit). Again, I truly am sorry. But I'm saying it through a screen, so it's hard to show how sorry I am without the emotion. If an apology isn't enough, I could edit the post.
  13. I hum all sorts of songs. Usually, I'll hum The Bluecoats's show from 2014, T/LT. Sometimes I'll tap it with my fingers. I especially like to try tapping the trumpet features from the opener. When im sitting down, most of the time I'll bounce my leg (usually my right one, but on occasion it'll be my left). I do this because it's like an urge, almost like an itch. The best way for me to describe it is like when you're holding in your pee, then you finally get to go...except less gross, and not as much of a pleasure aspect to it (don't judge me XD). When I'm bored (heck, even when I'm not bored), if my hands aren't currently doing something, they'll find an object and do something to it, like twirl a pencil around my fingers, or bend a paperclip, or simply just mess with the two bracelets I wear on my right arm. If there's no object to do that with, make shapes with my fingers, or grab my fingers and position them so that the tips of all my fingers are in line.
  14. So, I'm really bad at describing myself. It's probably my fault if this doesn't turn out well. I have a pretty round face, but not so round that it looks fat, just my jawline is very rounded; of course, it's a pretty tall face, not short. I have a round-ish cleft chin, but it's not too pronounced; also, the right "cheek" of my chin is very noticeably shorter than my left. My bottom lip is maybe an inch-half inch above the bottom of my chin at most. My lips aren't big, but they aren't very small either. About average fullness. Usually, my mouth is in a straight line about two inches across, with a slight frown-ish look to it (this is just my normal resting face), and I have slightly noticeable dimples, even when I'm not smiling. When I pose for a picture, I usually have to think about something funny or else my smile looks fake. If I do get myself to laugh, my smile is really pronounced, but I hardly ever show teeth when I smile, unless I'm laughing like crazy. When I'm staring directly at you, my nose is Slightly less than an inch above my upper lip, and my nose is really big and round; the part where my nostrils are and where my nose is connected to my face is almost as wide as my mouth, but the tip of my nose is a bit higher than that, and not as wide. The nostrils are clearly visible, as well; the little thing in between them is slightly bigger on the left, so the left nostril is slightly smaller than the right. The the bridge of my nose slopes up to right under my eyebrows, and it gets slightly smaller most of the way, except right before it reaches my eyebrows. My eyes are even with each other. The top of each of my eyes is about even with the top of my nose, and both my eye sockets are pretty sunk in my face. My eyes are really small, and a long and ovular. They're a dark brown most of the time, but, depending on the lighting, look golden hazel-ly, with a little curve of red near the top inside (meaning towards my nose) ring of each eye. My eyebrows are completely uneven. The left one is slightly closer to my eye, and is a lot thinner than the right, plus stops growing before my eye reaches my nose, but just barely. My right eyebrow is slightly higher than the left and a little bushier and more of a curve up then back down while my left is just a straight line basically. You can also notice a slight mono brow forming, if you squint hard enough and get close enough. I wear glasses, and they are held up slightly below the top of the bridge of my nose, and they are long rectangular lenses, with slight curves (it's more of an upside down trapezoid, with the outside bottom edges being closer to being in line with the top). And there's lots of space after the outside of my eye before you see the edge of my face. The top of my ears are even with each other, where they line up with the bottom of my eyes. The bottoms, however, are not so even; the right one is slightly below my lower lip (almost unnoticeable), and the right is in line with space between my lips. My hair is a dark brown, though it has an almost gold quality to it when light shines on it. It is kept short on the sides and back, where it doesn't go past my ears (except for the sideburns, which go down about a third of my ear) and in the back is about three inches away from the base of my neck. The top, is fairly long, but not that it covers my forehead (my forehead is bare, and really big-about a quarter of my face), and it swoops to the left, like a wave. It is above my head and past my forehead slightly. All my hair is really thick, so it looks like a big block almost. The individual hairs look like how paint looks when you brush it (except for the occasional hairs that ALWAYS stick out). Man, that was a lot longer than I thought it would be. Maybe it won't turn out so bad. Oh, in case you didn't know, I'm male.
  15. I got INFP-T/Mediator. It seems fairly accurate, but I feel like I should take it again and see what I get.... Whelp, I took I took it two more times and both times I was still INFP-T. Though, I noticed I went from being mostly introverted to being near the middle, but definitely more introverted. My energy also started mostly intuitive, but that slowly changed. It's still mostly intuitive though. I don't get what tactics means, though. It was all mostly prospecting and grew bigger every time. Same with identity and turbulent.
  16. -When a girl wears (too much) makeup. I don't like makeup, because my personal belief is that if you feel that you should hide your face, then it's not gonna be any fun once someone sees you without the makeup. And most girls, in my opinion, look better without makeup anyway. But I do understand just using a little and that some girls just like wearing makeup. But I have seen girls that have put on WAY too much makeup...that does not turn out well. -When a girl wears a shirt with way too low of a neckline, then, if you happen to glance for a second, berates you for looking at her chest. I mean, do girls not realize that men are naturally hard-wired to look at breasts? If they didn't want us looking in the first place, why did they wear a shirt specifically designed to show them off? If I'm around a girl wearing a low neckline, I try my hardest to avoid it, but sometimes you can't help yourself. I always feel terrible if I do it, but it's natural. Of course, not saying we should do everything that's natural. -When hardcore feminists/LGBT supporters ask for equal rights, but they bash men/straight people. They're not really after equal rights, they just want better rights for themselves. They, while most would not admit, want the other party to suffer, like they, admittedly, have. I'm all for equal rights, but they're doing it all wrong. -When I see people that don't signal before they turn or change lanes. Or when they run lights. Or when they drive WAY too slow/fast for the speed limit. My dad is a major offender of the slow. I notice these things, and I don't even have my license yet. -When people criticize me on something I'm doing wrong when it's obvious that I know I'm doing it wrong. I understand correcting me to make sure that I know I'm doing it incorrectly, but I don't need everyone to correct me. It annoys me even more when people correct me multiple times, all for the same reason. I usually know when I've screwed up or am currently messing up, I don't need your help, thank you. Of course, I'm a hypocrite because it seems like I like to critique others a lot. I try to leave my critique just for those who haven't been helped yet, but seems like my section leaders don't think that's my job, when the band officers and directors have said it's okay to help fix others' mistakes if they aren't getting fixed by someone in authority. Or maybe I've just misunderstood instructions. -When people keep talking to you even though you obviously don't care.
  17. Hey, thanks everyone who replied to this. I've come up with my order of the entire Cosmere, based on what you guys said, and I'm gonna read Mistborn first. I don't know if I'll be able to read any of the short stories without buying them, because I'm not sure if my library has them. This is my order: Mistborn (series), Warbreaker, Elantris, Emperor's Soul, Sixth of the Dusk, The Stormlight Archive (series), Edgedancer, Shadows for Silence in the Forest of Hell, Mistborn 2 (series). (Series is just a note for me that there's multiple books) When should I read Way of Kings? Wait...that's the first book in Stormlight. Whoops.
  18. Thank you DarkJester, that kind of helped me understand the whole idea behind the two books better. Elantris sounds really cool, but I'm gonna read Mistborn first. Partly because it's predecessors are already out.
  19. Mistborn sounds really cool, I think I'll check that one out first. After I read it, I'll read Elantris. What should I read next?
  20. Ah, thank you. I usually like to read books in the order they're published, not necessarily chronologically. Unless the series doesn't make sense to do it that way. But, can I get a quick synopsis for both Mistborn and Elantris? Seems like it doesn't matter, really, which one I read first. I'll just pick based on whichever sounds better. Maybe not the best way, but oh well.
  21. Really? Which one came first? I think I remember reading about which came out first, but I've forgotten.
  22. Oh, I see. I figured it was something like that. Guess I'll have to add Mistborn to my very long list of books to read...I think I'll put it near the top.
  23. Thanks guys for the tips. I read on Sanderson's site that I should start with Mistborn, but I just wanted multiple opinions first. I'm like that usually. Also, is there an explanation for the cookie warning? I've read through a couple other topics like mine, and it seems everyone does it.
  24. Hello, even though this is not my first post, I felt like introducing myself. I discovered Sanderson because of the Infinity Blade books he wrote, since I was an avid fan of the games. I still haven't read those books yet.... Anyway, it wasn't until a year-ish later that my middle school librarian recommended Steelheart to me...I was amazed, and picked up the second book, too. Then I had to wait forever for Calamity. But it was fine, because I discovered The Rithmatist. Then I was sad again, because I'd have to wait forever (and still am) for the next book. By then, I still didn't know about Sanderson's Cosmere books, and I forgot that he wrote the Infinity Blade books. Then I discovered this forum actually really recently. Now, I've come to you Sharders (as I've heard you like to be called) for help. Where should I start in the Cosmere?
  25. That's a pretty interesting idea. I do think Prof would'be told David, but, at the time, I'm not sure David would've believed him. He probably would've thought of it as a joke at first. If he did believe it, he wouldn't be as open to Epics being good as he is later in the book(s). He might've retaliated against Prof. Who knows.
