  1. Well, Gavilar was able to get fully prepped easily enough in the Prologue.
  2. One came through here last night. My TSA shirt was in the wash, so i didn't have a chance to see if it collects Light.
  3. What if it's a rechargingspren and it recharges the Highstorms?
  4. 7th Sea stole it from Brandon, of course!
  5. Also, the 10-16 theorem indicates that Honor and Odium are non-complementary.
  6. Yeah, but remember that Adolin still has Blade and Plate, and he's the best duelist anywhere in Roshar. That will help even the odds.
  7. A Surgebinder can use Stormlight to manipulate the ten Surges, fundamental forces of nature. Each type of Surgebinder controls two Surges. For example, Szeth can alter the force of gravity to make something fall differently or have a stronger gravity, and he can alter the force of pressure to stick two things together as if with suction cups.
  8. The Investiture is spontaneous in that it does not require an Awakener to Command it.
  9. Ordinary people!
  10. Alright, so my theory is that when complementary Shards are on the same world, then all complementary shards produce "16"-based magics, while when no complements are present, "10"-based magics are created. How this theory plays out in the books: Mistborn: This is the obvious one. Ruin and Preservation are perfect complements, and they produced three 16-systems. Warbreaker: Endowment is the only shard on her planet, so she cannot have a complement. Awakening has the Ten Heightenings, and there are five forms of BioChromatic entity (Vasher missed Spontaneous Sentient BioChromatic Manifestations In a Living Host in his explanation). Stormlight: There are three 10-based systems here (Surgebinding, Voidbinding, and ?Lifebinding?), and the general consensus is that Honor, Odium, and Cultivation are non-complementary. Alcatraz: Rutabaga.
  11. I think the biggest problem is that the Plate seems to be made entirely of metal, not bone or horn. Also, there's no sign of nerves or blood-vessels, so how do its organic functions work? Furthermore, the Parshendi have not shown the power to mutate into chasmfiends, which is what was in the picture.
  12. Something interesting I discovered. The first time Kaladin draws in the Light without needing it is right after he is told that his crew will be on bridge duty every time. This is one of the times when he is most protective and leading (he's infuriated at her for trying to kill off his men.)
  13. What if all the parts of the Shaod other than drawing Aons come from Elantris (glowing, physical enhancement, etc.)?
  14. Perfectly true, but the government would then forfeit morality on that issue, just like TLR.
  15. If you have a good amount of area with no spheres around your saferoom, Szeth will have to use up most of his Light getting to you. That will remove one of his biggest advantages.
  16. Also, Hemalurgy might be legally and morally used if you are going to kill the person anyway (execute a criminal misting with Hemalurgy, get a spike that can help some worthy person).
  17. Maybe she's Shalash's daughter/descendant? 4500 years is plenty of time for some of the Heralds to have married and started lineages.
  18. For this reason, I think he's either a Metalborn or a Windrunner.
  19. I agree with the "weak magic system" part. In fact, that's my reason for thinking Engraving is fueled by a Splinter.
  20. +1 for clever ideas! So we've spotted another Seventeenth?
  21. Probably another thing proceeding from the DisHonering of the Plate at the Recreance (as evidenced by the missing glow).
  22. I invented a magic with that power a while back. It's called Literomancy and grants power over and through reading.
  23. Allomancy can affect a lot more than metal. It also affects time, emotions, and the body. Furthermore, it can sense or hide itself, and can alter its own energy flows, and gives the power to see through time.
  24. Determination and leadership are the two attributes Dalinar has chosen to define himself by, so that supports your position.
  25. Points 2-5 are evidence that there is a Shard called Deception.
