I just finished my last exam!!! (at least until September) and tomorrow I'll go to my graduation, just the ceremony because I left two subjects and the final project for the next year, but close enough. -
Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!
Erandeni replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in General Discussion
*hugs* I hope you find her soon. I had an awful day, I have done the worst exam ever, I couldn't even understand the questions, then I find out that my phone doesn't work, finally when I was in the bus heading home I said: "Well, at least the day can't go worse",like two second after that my ex-girlfriend got in the bus. -

Random Stuff X: Something Weird

I just saw two policemen riding horses waiting for traffic light, I do not know what to think, my main theory is that they are time travelers. -

@A Budgie@Slowswift@Pestis the Spider Thanks guys! I am better now and ready to a month full of exams. -
It's possible, assuming that the shift to cooler color is the same than ours(I don't think it is correct but should allow us to do some rough aproximation), a star with a temperature a bit less than 5000K should provide a green sky.

You seem like a funny and cool person, besides you play clarinet, and that's really cool. -

*hugs* sorry to hear that, sounds awful. Yesterday I had a pretty bad day too, I had an important exam but I couldn't do it because like an hour before the exam's begining I had an anxiety attack, I couldn't breathe and I was crying a lot.So now I'm gonna spend all the summer studyng because I need to pass this subject in September. -

Your signature is too imperative, I need to obey, I bow down to your signature.10/10. -
I don't have the numbers, I don't think it can be solved easily and I am really bad at computational science, but unless you want a red sky it should be just a litle bit more dense than ours, as I said in the sunset the light pass through more atmosphere so it'd be the equivalent to a "densier" atmosphere, for green it should be closer to ours. With a red sun it has mainly orange-red light so I suppose the sky should be orange.

I see it this way: Coin: The coin’s mass is really small so the acceleration is big and the force of the push will make the coin fly away Vin: Vin’s mass is much larger so her acceleration is insignificant, she doesn't move. If we divide the two equation(taking modulus because I am lazy) So while in the air, the coin’s mass is small and its acceleration big, Vin’s mass is big, when you compare it to the coin’s mass, and hence her acceleration is insignificant. But when the coin hits the wall Vin is pushing something incredible heavy so: Coin’s mass is huge and Vin’s mass is insignificant, coin's acceleration is insignificant, in order to fullfill the equation Vin’s acceleration has to be pretty big, so she moves backwards. Probably there is something wrong with my model, but I can't see it right now. PD:this model don't take into account the friction forces so when I say insignificant in the practise it's going to be 0.

I joined after whatever happened, so welcome back! -
Yes, the sky is blue due to Rayleight scattering, it depends on the wavelength, the shorter wavelength, the more intense is the light, and hence making the sky blue and purple, but purple light is absorb in the upper part of the atmosphere, and our eyes are more sensitive to blue(I am not sure about the eyes, but is what I've been told, Can someone confirm it?) In the sun set the blue light get too scattered because the amount of atmosphere it has to pass through is higher, then the direct light of the sun is red/orange. If you want a warmer color sky you can change the density of atmosphere or the angle at which light incide.

Although it is an atractive force it has nothing to do with gravitacional force, the mass of the nucleons is really small so the electromagnetic force should rip the nucleus apart but it is stable, that becouse of the strong force hold it together. Sorry if my explanation is not clear, I don't understand it quite well yet, in a couple of week I'll be able to explain it better.
-
If you ask me in a couple of weeks I'll be able to answer you better, we are studying that just now, but in a cualitative level strong force make the nucleus stable,(the protons will repel without it), the weak force is the responsible for the differents kinds of decays. It has to do with the differents kind of quarks and particle so is fairly complicated.
