  1. OMG thats amazing, someone show this to Brandon. Anyways, the last we see of the Queen she had black smoke surrounding her. We later hear Odium explain to Amaram that its previous owner failed to control Blightwind. So likely consumed.
  2. His ability to heal has been confirmed as a Yolish power. I also interpreted Brandon's cageyness(is that a word?) do to his using Feruchemy as an example of further underlying mechanics of the Cosmere, specifically the spiritual aspects. Hoid has powers that work in similar ways in that they're able to affect spiritural aspects. But you're correct, that is an assumption. Hoid may have Furechemy to do some of the stuff he does. It would likely require him figuring out how the original Terris people got the power, so not likely, but not impossible.
  3. I can't find it now, but I have seen a WoB stating that Odium will be alive during the second half. Rayse might not be, but he wouldn't state either way. Either way, I think the SA will lead to the endgame of the Cosmere. The Shard split up and when their merry ways, but I think whatever happens at the end of SA will culminate in whatever ending Brandon has planned for the Cosmere. With that in mind, it has to be Shardic in nature to have such a far reaching impact. Perhaps more shards combining? A combining happening once might be ignored, but if it keeps happening it may force an intervention to stop it. Odium escapes. Odium has its vessel changed, then is letgo/escapes. While it would be satisfying, I doubt the shard Odium will be destroyed. The only way I see that happening is if in his death throes he lets some knowledge slip, or changes something, that has far reaching consequences after his death.
  4. Brandon has confirmed that both Odium and Harmony are aware of each already. Additionally, Odium took steps to ensure Devotion and Dominion couldn't form sentience. While I don't think its impossible to see them included again in future stories, I doubt either will have an impact on SA. Still begs the question of what is talking to Dalinar..
  5. Hoid is capable of manipulating several of his spiritual components (assumed by obersvation). So he can do things similar to Feruchemy, however the mechanic (magic) is different and comes from Yolen. This is what allows him to stop his aging, heal, and manipulate luck. So he's already immortal and very difficult to kill without new powers. That said, it does appear that Hoid is collecting new powers. The reason is unknown though, he may just want new powers, how he might have an actual reason, dunno.
  6. I was referring to the above, specifically "There are some peoples who worship entire pantheons where every member is actually her." But the intent is still the same, Patji and the rest of the Islands could all be Autonomy, possibly with autonomous personas she creates.
  7. There's WoB floating around that says there is no full shard on First of the Sun. This, also with everything else, indicates that Autonomy created a splinter to be there. There may even be more than one splinter, Patji isn't the only god in the pantheon and Brandon has specifically stated that entire pantheons are all made of Autonomy. As for the magic system, Autonomy is driven to be autonomous, hence creating possibly autonomous personas that can act on their own. It doesn't necessarily mean that any magic system derived from Autonomy's investiture will be entirely autonomous, example being allomancy. The way allomancy is fueled preserves the user's strength, but the actual abilities don't really have much to do with Preservation.
  8. You are correct, I forgot about the mist. But I would still say that stormlight and breath function very differently. They're similar in that they're investiture that appears to be dependent of a shard, the big difference from the mist, but aside from that they're quite different. Even visually they look different considering their color patterns, and the way that breath flows and stormlight rises. Breath sticks to souls very well, while stormlight is extremely slippery and can only be truly contained in a perfect gem. And the enhancements they provide are entirely different and seem more based on the mechanisms people possess than the investiture itself. The soul can't naturally absorb stormlight and someone with breath can naturally aborb stormlight. That alone shows how different these investiture are even if they have a similar but not exactly alike visual appear
  9. I think its more likely that Investiture can take on three forms, solid, liquid, and air. For solid and liquid examples we've seen, they're similar but different in color. Air is likely similar, especially considering the different colors that breath and stormlight take. This would mean that they're both investiture that has taken an air form. So the Shards settle down and release their investiture in the system and it manifest as air, but the source of the investiture and its nature are different. I also think the investiture type is determined by your spacial location, or subastral as Hoid put it. So if H&C moved to Scadrial, I predict their Investiture would take a physical form.
  10. The Sibling had/was withdrawing by the time of the Tower's abandoning, which appears to have taken place before the Recreance. One of the quotes from the gemstones seems to indicate there was a specific reason unknown to most of the KR's on why the Sibling was withdrawing. So it seems something external to the KR's caused the withdraw to happen, although perhaps there was trouble with the Bondsmith at the time that weaken/damaged the Sibling? Someone does raise a good point, it was clearly stated that 9 out of the 10 orders betrayed their oaths. The skybreakers were the one, which means bondsmiths are one of the nine. So what happened to the bondsmiths? was one of the three killed here, or was there simply no bondsmith at the time?(I lean to the second option). Alternatively, the Recrance and the abandoning of the tower occurred at the same time and the bondsmith was the first to decide to betray their oaths, killing the siblings, causing the abandoning of the tower, leading to the lowering of morale of the rest of the orders, who eventually followed suit. Need more books >.<
  11. I interpreted @Govir's view as well, she was feeling the cognitive aspect of the city, which reflect what people thought of it as. However, I've also seen a theory that perhaps Urithiru and the ten cities were shaped are are part of the Sibling who represent the planet of Roshar/rock spirit, something along those lines. In which case, she could be sensing the sibling through the city.
  12. @Blazenella Imagine a Koloss moving faster than you can see, that's a Fullborn. They could punch through the Shardplate, tear their way out of the ground, and pull/push themselves out of a vacuum. The soulcasting would be fighting a goldmind for change and compounding would probably win out there. The only way I see a KR winning if if they get first blow and kill the Fullborn before they start compounding, or if the Fullborn doesn't have metalminds prepped/runs out of metal.
  13. My point was the immediate cut off of the Mistborn seemed unlikely. In one generation we had at least 3(and perhaps unknown others) naturally born mistborn. Then over the next three hundred years, roughly several generations per hundred years, and no mistborn? I agree it would taper off eventually, but I find the immediate cut off of mistborn births over the next generations to be suspect. I agree its possible statistically and it may just be chance, but I find Harmony's intervention more likely. I was not aware of the that particular WoB. That does change some thing. But again, no Full feruchemist being born is odd. None of the Terris bloodlines remained pure at all? I would understand some of the population mixing to form the twinborn, but not all of them. Having all the full ones killed does make it less likely for one to be born, but I still find none being born over a 300 year period to be suspect. I still suspect Harmony preventing any full Mistborn or Fuerchemist in order to level the playing field, but admit its possibly just chance none were born. We'll have to see in future books.
  14. A fullborn would be capable of moving faster than then KR could even see, and could keep it up basically forever. That's pretty hard to fight against. There's also some mention, I think from Peter I'll have to track that WoB down, that KR can only heal so much and a fully crushed head might overwhelm their healing, which a Fullborn is capable of. Additionally, I was referring to how the stormlight is separate from the source. It does originate from Honor, but its separated after being released from the storm. Once its gone, you have to wait for another Hightstorm. Allomancy on the other hand is at all times powered directly by Preservation.
  15. ^ What she said. Off the top of my head there's drunk Jez, Nale and Kalak(maybe) during WoR prolouge, Ishar is the Godking of Tukar and one of the ardents Shallan saw in WoK in the big library place is suspected to be one of the Heralds as well. And of course there's Shalash and Taln. But you'll get more info just reading through their specific pages.
  16. There's also the question of what kind of spren has to be trapped in one of these to replicate the Radiant surges. Does it require a mindless spren, or one of the higher spren? And I can think of two reason why the soulcasters are so common compared to other surge fabrials. The first is that the ancients may not have had the technology to produce anything other than soulcasters or the regrowth tools. The second is that it seems Akinah may have been producing them over the years. This would explain why so many soulcasters there are vs any of the others.
  17. The weakening of the bloodlines causing no Mistborn at all seems highly unlikely. Not impossible due to simple chance, but for none to be born during a three hundred year period in which at least some of the bloodlines survived seems improbable. And as for the single power Feruchemy, it was mentioned that overseers had control of the Terris breeding with the specific intent of ruining the bloodlines, yet during this time there was never a known single power feruchemist. This points to direct modification of how the powers work by Harmony. The Terris people think a full Feruchemist is possible, but I have not seen anything to indicate that that's guaranteed, and seems more likely to simply be in world beliefs. While it does seem like Harmony made single power allomancy and feruchemy more available, I think he has blocked the ability for anyone to be born with a full power set.
  18. I feel like all of the metallic arts should be included in the comparison. Allomancy and Furechemy combined would destroy any radiant due to compounding and pulling directly from Preservation instead of whatever stormlight is around. Include Heruchemy and you have your complexity. That said, I think both magic systems are great, precisely because of the different feel that each one has.
  19. I would have to reread to be sure, but I thought it was mentioned at some point that after Harmony's ascension, aside from Spook, there was no more Mistborn or Full Feruchemist. I could understand if they were extremely rare do to natural weakening, but for no Mistborn at all, to me, signifies divine intervention. On top of that, there was never a mention of single metal Feruchemist before the Ascension. This too seems more likely to be due to Harmony as a balance to no Mistborn. It seems unlikely to me that the Terris bloodline could be so thoroughly changed to prevent ANY full feruchemist from being born. If they were rare, with mostly single metal users, that would be one thing, but it seems there are no more, giving me the impression that the rules were changed.
  20. The truthwatcher's spren are mistspren. Eshonei saw the comet spren following her in book one. After her death, Timbre went to Venli instead. And its highly suspected that the comet spren is a lightspren, the same ones that ran the boat in Shadesmar. @Song as for the Heralds https://coppermind.net/wiki/Herald
  21. The oaths can be said differently, but based on Teft and Kaladin, as well as the names of the Skybreaker's oaths, its likely that each oath step will be similar and represent the same idea, just in the context of the specific person. Aka Kaladin hates the king and Teft hates himself, but they'll still protect so long as its right to do so.
  22. It seems likely that Harmony influenced several thing, such as weakening Furchemy to only one power and blocking more Mistborn on purpose, in addition to the weaker snapping. However the weakening of Allomancers is more likely caused by the dilution through generations than from Harmony's influence.
  23. Roshone is pretty low on the totem pole. He doesn't own his lands, but answers to Lighteyes above him. Also, Roshone's reaction might just be that of someone in world that has lived with the horror stories of the desolation? I mean, at this point we're pretty chill about the desolation (excited its happening), and the main cast have been living it so they're kinda used to it. This is the first Roshone's heard about it, right after experiencing a terrifying evil hurricane. I think its reasonable that he's just freaking out. Also also, as LH1407 pointed out, it is suspected that the person talking to Nale during the night that Gavilar was murdered is Kalak. Jasnah didn't recognize him, thought he was a ambassador I think, and has likely seen Roshone before at some point.
  24. Its suspected that Shallan is on her fourth oath, that being she killed her mother. Her 2nd and 3rd oaths are unknown and appear to have been said during childhood. Killing her Father may be her third oath, but I'm not so sure because it doesn't have the same effect on her as the 4th does. A WoB states that at the end of WoR Shallan was one level higher than Kalladin, and Kal was on his third oath.
  25. Or the fact that Hoid seems to actively repel people he meets a lot of the time. I like him as a character, but if I was in-world I would avoid him if possible.
