Allow me to write that part, so hopefully, when Brandon does so, he won't have to, thus saving him time to write the rest of this epic.

    "10/10, an absolute masterpiece"

    IGN

This is the best storming literature I've seen in my entire life. You should publish it as a short story, you'll get as famous as Brandon with that.

  2. The only thing I ask for Brandon Sanderson to do is for him to write more chapters in the Stick's perspective. I really think it's a very deep character and I would like to explore his story. If it's possible, I would like for the Stick to be a main PoV character in the back five books, I would really like to see its backstory and its motivations to be a stick. Definitely my favorite character, and I hope it can also be in a cover, I would love that. Anyone else agrees with me?

    But isn't that Cosmere?

(I'm kidding. Please don't hurt me)

Yeah, I hope to see Steelheart vs. TLR sometime, but everyone knows Reckoners isn't Cosmere. You're getting confused, the one that is Cosmere is Alcatraz.

It was a dark and stormy night when szeth son-son vallano, the Truthless of shinovar wore white when he was to kill a king.

actually sleeping sounds better now. I'll finish this tomoz promise, maybe do some other writers.

     Michael Bay would be like:

Szeth son-son-Vallano Truthless of Shinovar infused a chair and then, BOOM! IT EXPLODED IN SLOW MOTION!

Actually, clues indicate Adolin's role into the next book is everything but major: cutting down his page time in half and removing him from the main narrative pretty much indicates he won't play anything but a very supportive role into any given arc. Sadeas's murder was a Red Herring. I thus sincerely doubt we will ever get cover art (or inside page art) featuring Adolin. My personal guess would be Szeth, Eshonai, Jasnah and/or probably Dalinar himself as it is his book. It may also be Kaladin in the inside page and Shallan on the cover. We simply do not know, but I honestly doubt Brandon's team would waste amazing Micheal Whelan's cover art on Adolin.

Among those I have named, my personal preferences would be Dalinar, without his Plate, wearing his Kholin uniform. It would also be great if book 3 could solve the "what does Renarin look like" question as well... I am curious about it, so I wouldn't mind if it were him, but I think it might be too early in the series for it.

Yeah, even though I loved Adolin in WoR, I don't think he's going to get any more page time than he did in WoR, actually, I think he might die in the near future, if the Alethi figure out what he's done, they will probably execute him.

If he knew duralumin existed, I guess he could have pushed all the metal in elendel.

to push on all the metals in scadrial would rip it apart like that rust magneto did. Maybe just after he ascended?

That would be cool to see once someone is powerful enough to do it, maybe with the Bands of Mourning.

OK so in the cognitive realm you have seen spheres which represent  objects, these are the embodiements of the cognitive aspects of the physical thing. Roshar is seen as a single mass, a planet, so in shadesmar it would appear as a single being.

The amount of stormligt needed to invest in something that large would be incredible. At least equal to TLRs investiture

Some shards have already invested into roshar such as odium, cultivation and honor. And we've seen some of the products of this investiture clash.

Oh and kaladin would have to be pretty cosmere aware to be able to understand the amount of power needed as well as an In depth knowledge of how investiture works.

But to go back to your original question kal won't be able to. But perhaps honor back when he was alive might have been able to do so.

This gave me another question, could TLR push on all of the metals in Scadrial by using duralumin?

  8. 11 minutes ago, Spoolofwhool said:

He would need enough Stormlight to invest all of Roshar, since I have no doubt that it is cognitively viewed as one object... so probably not, since assuming he had enough stormlight to actually do that, no, since he would be moving the entire planet. Also, I feel like there would be other factors at play which would prevent the general investing of a planet, maybe because shards have already invested it.

That's, kind of confusing. What if he does have enough Stormlight? I mean, stuff can be invested twice, at least I think it's possible

    DIE, HERETIC!

When you use this to curse someone:

GO TO DAMNATION, YOU COLORLESS, RUSTED, STORMING SPAWN OF THE LORD RULER'S CHULL'S DUNG!

    I actually used that once.

It didn't have the effect I imagined.

EDIT: Accidentally put "cure" instead of "curse". Why are those spell so close to the same?

I'll be sure to say that the next time I'm insulting someone, that will make me feel as a total Sanderfan.

The parts I enjoy the most are when the action fades and a character drops a quick, yet profound statement that can hit you emotionally like a ton of bricks.

Shallan's answer to Hoid's question that beauty is when pain is the least, Spook being reminded that Kelsier was his friend and gave him a name, Shae's comments on how even inanimate objects want to see themselves as beautiful, all the times Kaladin remembers his father telling him that "someone has to start" being good to others, Kaladin giving his "I just wanted to protect them..." line.

There's a lot them like that.  I think the quick way they're inserted, but then not dwelt upon or explained in detail by Brandon makes them feel more profound because it encourages your mind to dwell on the deeper things.

Yeah, I have to agree. The way Brandon writes makes you feel what the character is feeling, doesn't matter if it's nostalgia, sadness, depression, joy, etc.

Absolutely, this is why I have such a hard time sort of explaining why I like one story over another.  I feel like Roshar just has that truly epic fantasy feel, where there is a massive overarching story that transcends the characters themselves.  Mistborn absolutely has some great aspects of the same feeling.  I do enjoy the shorter nature of the Mistborn series, and the pacing is awesome, but I came from Wheel of Time, Saga of Recluce, and other, similarly huge series.  I have very little issue with reading a backstory, flashback, or a somewhat boring introduction and character building, because I know the importance of the characterization and building out the traits that will influence their use of the magic systems, and what not.

I absolutely love Mistborn, but I always find myself so engrossed in Stormlight.

Yeah, that's exactly what I feel. The other books are good, but Stormlight is perfection. @bleeder Ok, I'll make sure to not do that again. ;).

Since he's said that he's going through book 5 of Stormlight to begin, my guess is that Odium will escape Roshar there. Wax and Wayne is set after Stormlight 5 but before Stormlight 6, so between that and the red eyes, I'm pretty confident.

Yeah, I hope after Stormlight 5, Odium is known in all of the worlds, that would be absolutely amazing, because from my point of view, Odium is kind of like the bad guy in the Cosmere, so if Brandon decides to make Trell be Odium, that would be the start of a whole new era not just for Stormlight, but for the whole Cosmere.

  13. 3 minutes ago, sctfn said:

For a first touch of wild speculation, Trell is Odium, or I'll eat Wayne's hat.

Yeah, I think that too. I would really like for Brandon to introduce Odium in the other books besides The Stormlight Archive.

  14. 7 minutes ago, Mirdrim said:

I would agree with that.  The magic system on Roshar is the most intriguing to me, and, though I loved the Mistborn magic and the creative methods they could be used, especially in era 2, I think we will see some very cool things with Roshar. The nature of plate and blades, the Listeners and their nuances are very interesting to me as well..

Though there are a ton of secrets with Mistborn, I find myself a little more sated with them after the original trilogy and Secret History...of course...Secret History just opens up a world of questions in the greater Cosmere.

It's good to have you, I look forward to wild speculations :)

Yeah, with the Roshar magic system you feel like there's always something to discover, well, at least they are adding that to the metallic arts in Wax and Wayne with Trell.

My favorite par was in mistborn well of ascension when Vin was running back to luthidel at the end of the chapter when it said

    "she ran and she cried."

My favorite part of Mr. Sanderson's books is in Words of Radiance when Szeth and Kaladin fight in the middle of the Everstorm. Well, TBH, I love the last 300 pages, does that count?

I would love to see Adolin and Nale on the cover.  I think it could be really cool, and it should be set at Urithiru.  Adolin is set to be a major part of the story despite not having a POV early, after the murder of Sadeas, so if you're correct that Dalinar won't be on the cover himself (and it makes sense, if it's being planned that way), I think that's a fairly likely possibility.  Nale of course I'm less sure on, but he also seems set to take more prominence.

If we ever have a cover with Nale, I would love to see him with Lift or Szeth

    Hey all!

So, I have another question about Allomancy and Feruchemy, one that I'm not sure how to describe or bring up, but I'll try. In Alloy of Law, I believe, Wayne somehow gets injured pretty badly. Worrying, Wax rushes over and checks for a pulse, finding that Wayne indeed has one. Wax was worried, as I remember it, because Wayne had already used some of his healing earlier in the book and was running low. However, something about tapping the Gold metalmind slowly allowed Wayne to draw out more healing power? If that makes sense? Not entirely sure what I'm talking about, really just looking for clarification on Feruchemical Bloodmaker healing, and trying to use Alloy of Law as a reference point...

Apologies that it's probably really confusing and vague, but I tried :P.

(Also might be easier to just reread the book for an answer, but I'm a little tight on time right now.)

It also may be because it makes Wayne heal faster combining the natural human healing and his healing by slowly tapping the metalmind

A cover with Dalinar and sons would be fantastic to me. After seeing the news that Oathbringer is done I was so pumped i just sent money to thw artist that I  commission to do SA art to do a new Adolin. Mabe I will ask him to do Dalinar and Adolin together

That would be the most awesome thing in the world. To have that cover in my shelf would be an honor.
