So I was reading through WoR and I noticed that in one of Eshonai's interludes she mentions a "comet like Soren that seems to be following her around. This is after she has transformed to storm form but she gets really annoyed with it. Could this be the start of a bond?

Urithiru is not above the highstorm. There is crem build up even at the very top. Also they talk of recharging their spheres when the highstorm comes again. -
Everyone shipping kalidin with shallen and I'm over here shipping him and Jenet.

That would explain him studying Janash as she is the only one we know of that actually seems to understand what is happening to her.

Yes it is. I just think it is interesting that Nazh, Khriss' sidekick follows shallan and not someone else. I suppose he may have been watching janash and then when she "died" decided to follow shallan to the shattered plains.

I just think that it is interesting that Nazh seems to be focused on Shallan. The drawings he collects are all hers and he knew exactly where she landed after the shipwreck...

Kaladin had just asked her if there were other people like him. They look at a pool of water and that's when her face changes.

I know i may be late to the party but anyone else notice that on the Alloy of Law cover Wayne is holding a gun?

So where is the Atium in the wax and Wayne books. Is it simply crazy rare because the pits of whatever were destroyed/lost or is it no longer being produced?

I don't think it's an unmade. The paragraph we have before the traitor bit ends with a Change of topic to kingship. Could it be that it be talking about a kings advisors and how one of them is almost certainly a traitor? Edit: also the traitor bit is 12 paragraphs after he stops talking about the unmade. Kinda a long time to spend on a topic after you say it's a distraction.

I do think something weird is going on with the number of herdazians there are on the shattered plains. I seem to recall that for a long time they were at war for awhile before Galivar united the highprinces.

While spren lose their knowledge when they come into the physical realm they still retain instinct. Syl's instincts told her what is right and she is able to council Kal based on this. It's the same with Pattern. He's been around a bit longer but he still instinctively councils Shallen. Whos to say that Renarin's spren's instincts tell him not to talk of the future with others. We see that he does know what he is doing at the end of WoK.

Thanks that makes a lot of sense. It's interesting that a theme in WoK is that revenge and vengeance aren't ever the right path to take. Maybe Hoid could learn from what is happening around him.

In the intro to chapter 72 of WoR there is a section of a letter written to a person who I assume to be Hoid. It is talking about Rayse and how the author of the letter thinks he is now simply a force, a slave to his Shard. It then states that the recipient of the letter (Hoid potentially) insists that this is not the case. I'm not sure what to make of this but it does seem interesting that Hoid would insist that Rayse has not been completely taken over by his Shard.

This makes sense to me. It explains most of the reactions they had to stormform. Rlain was able to retain control of himself after taking this form, perhaps because of his bond with Kaladin. -
Well to be fair the only time he's ever trained with a sword it's been screaming at him every time he touches it.

Who knows maybe it is the best course of action. We don't yet know the full picture of what all is going on. Following the diagram may just be what will save the day in the end.

If you do hope to attract a spren the plate would be far better. So far we haven't read of any negative effects from handling plate but there are some serious ones with blades. I cant wait to find out what plate actually is...
