  1. Everyone is the hero in their own story.
  2. There is only one other theory we haven't looked at. The man isn't actually Taln. Everyone assumes that it is but he could just be some random darkeyes that has gone insane. As far as I know it isn't confirmed that he is Taln. He never had a Honorblade but somehow got ahold of a shardblade. Possibly found it in his mad wanderings. The only problems are the two different shardblades and Hoid being there to welcome him. I personally think it is him but if it hasn't been confirmed it is possible.
  3. Well they seem to know what is wrong according to their order. They just don't know why yet.
  4. Also Renarin doesn't have control of his visions. They seem to come only with the highstoms and are specifically about the Everstorm so far. Otherwise he would have at least suggested some different tactics throughout the book. On another note he does does have his spren to guide him and tell him the dangers of telling others about what might come to pass
  5. I kinda doubt Brandon Sanderson would use the same exact weakness but it could be that every Shard has some sort of communication weakness. He does stay consistent to the universe laws but doing something like this might seem repetitive. Every single "magic" system he builds are very different from one another but still follow the same basic laws. He might give each Shard a different handicap related to them individually.
  6. It is my belief that we will only get one KR from each order. I'm not sure why I think this but I do. In which case any order we have already seen would be out of the running. We might see more but I don't think we will see any repeats in the main-ish characters.
  7. Or Odium can listen to people but can't read what they write on stone. Similar to Ruin not being able to read from metal. All of the prophecies to my knowledge were written on stone. Plus the shin believe stone to be sacred and they do seem to know the most about what is going on, similar to the Kandra.
  8. That's true. I hadn't really thought about that. I had just assumed that taln wasn't bonded with it because it didn't disappear when he dropped it. It still leaves the question of where the other shardblade came from. Unless Taln was bonded to them both and gave up the normal shardblade so people wouldn't kill him for it. Though he does seem very capable of defending himself.
  9. Can anyone confirm if it was Daliar or Renarin who wrote the numbers. I assume it will be in oathbringer but this has been on my mind as well.
  10. The only other idea I have is that the Shin took it. In WoK there is a section where szeth is thinking about his death and how the stone shamans would collect his shardblade when he dies. They must have someway of tracking the Honorblades and know if anyone is bonded to them. They might have seen talns blade show up and assumed it was szeths. Though now that Kal has Szeths they'd be pretty confused.
  11. Drat. Hmm the mystery continues.
  12. I couldn't find my theory so I posted it. Titled Talenel's Honorblade.
  13. I looked and I could find this theory being discussed so here we go. this assumes that Talnfrom the end of WoK is Talenel. Also that his shardblade is an Honorblade but by the time he gets the the shattered planes it has been switched to a normal shardblade. most of my info is from the coppermind. Basically I think Hoid took Talenel's Honorblade. We know he has acquired a significant amount of Breath and that he took a Lerasium pellet from the Well of Ascension. I'm sure there is other evidence that he is gathering "powers" from different worlds. With an Honorblade he would have both a shardblade and the surges affiliated with Talenel's order. Thats the whole reason Hoid is waiting for Taln. All Hoid needs is to have acquired an unknown shardblade and switch them without anyone knowing. Hoid has proved pretty resourceful in the past so I don't see a problem.
  14. Hi. I just read the Way of Kings for the fifth time, looking up info about the cosmere as I went. I thought of a theory about the ending scene and joined to better search the forum to see if someone else has already proposed it. Any suggestions on where I should start? It has to do with where Talenel's Honorblade went. I'm sure it's been talked about somewhere.
