  1. Ayyy ayyy Tani, you and archer are being great supports to my eventual election. I'll let you choose what kind of Cola you want when I get elected! The Steel Election Campaign is busy with various Hawaiian matters today, and must put off finishing the investigation into the various candidates. However, within the next 24 hours there should be enough time for the final report to be submitted. The official Steel Election Campaign's votes will be submitted at that point.
  2. Ouch. That's not good. Guess I can double down on Drake who's further explanation of his continued suspicion of me was highly underwhelming.
  3. People were muttering all around him as Steel got up on the box that he usually spoke from. Today, he was a bit more nervous. He had been directly involved in the election of someone who was clearly in the pockets of the nobles that Steel so publically denounced. No wonder it had caused some commotion. But he had to clear his name, and make things right. Alright, alright. I had some other topics I wanted to discuss today originally, but clearly due to circumstances I'm going to need to discuss what happened in terms of the election. I talked about it briefly to some of you, but I wanted to make everything clear all at once. When I first heard the rumors that some of us were being bribed by the nobles, I was slow to believe it. I wanted to see the best in all of you, especially my friends who I've known for a long time, such as Fifth. I've known Fifth to always be a trustworthy fellow, and so I was quick to trust his opinions, especially when I was spending time doing my election strategy, not searching for traitors among us. Clearly, I was wrong. While this doesn't indict Fifth as being a traitor, as a future public representative I have to realize that I cannot just blindly put trust in those around me. So no, I was not bribed by the nobles to betray you, but rather I was quick to trust in a friend. I hope that that context to my actions will grant me the benefit of the doubt. So then, what am I going to do about the situation? Until this point, I was ignoring the fact that there were traitors among us, and the threat that they stand to the changes that we want to make through the Fair Steel Deal. I can no longer afford to ignore them. As such, I'm making an official statement. From this time forward, the Steel Election Campaign will not be working full time on the election of Steel. We will instead be splitting our resources to find and bring down the traitors among us, so that the life that we have so desired can be ours, and receive the fair treatment that we deserve. We publically condemn those among us who feel that the money they get from the nobles is of more worth than a fair and equal society. This change in direction will take place immediately, and we will report our findings when we have finished our initial investigation into the matter. We will be closely scrutinizing all financial and public matters to find those who seek to tear our dreams down. Some may say this change is too late, or that we should have been doing this from the beginning. But to that I say, I had always hoped that it would not be necessary, that we could all unite together to make change to our community. But clearly that ideal was simply that, an ideal. And so we will do our best to make sure that the ideals we hold above all others- fair treatment- will be able to weather this storm!
  4. Said posts more than fell underneath "getting back into the swing of things." I completely acknowledge that they were suspicious, but you seem to be the only one not giving me the benefit of the doubt when it's more than clear that I wasn't used to playing again yet, and was still trying to find a playstyle. Since then, of course, I'm feeling a lot more confident in my playstyle, so would you like to point something out that wasn't day one that was suspicious? Its not so much that I feel threatened by you, but rather that I find the way you express your suspicion of me to be suspicious. Thus I voted you.
  5. One last note in my defense. If I was evil, I probably wouldn't have put my campaign: the only thing I've been doing all game: at risk just to vote in one of my team mates. I tend to be selfish about my playstyles like that. (Although it does make for a good political scandal, and that's more fodder for my next speech hehehe)
  6. Alright folks, alright folks, I know it doesn't look good. I was just taking the advice of a friend, I swear I wasn't bribed into helping the very people I oppose. Not a good look for me though. Or anyone who voted Elandera. I know I'm clear but that means I'm never voting for anyone else in that train ever again... And it might ruin my chances of getting elected. Rusts. I've mainly been memeing around all game, but perhaps thisll inspire me to take on a bit more responsibility. I also completely forgot to put in my advertising, dangit.
  7. Alright I finally got around to looking at the thread, took some more notes, but there's something I want to address. This whole game, Drake has been suspicious of me for seemingly no reason. Voted on me first turn, and continues to express suspicion of me. Drake would you like to give some actual reasoning for why I'm an elim read to you?
  8. I like Fifth Scholar's opinion because I'm a sheep who's too busy trying to get elected to pay attention to suspicious people, so I'm going to vote Elandera and fifth scholar . I'm also disappointed in the number of people signing up for my election team. Granted nobody's really seriously voted for me yet... But I'm sure I can make sure that changes with more vigorous advertising and campaigning!
  9. I think he's an excellent candidate for election. In all honesty though, I'm mainly just amusing myself at the moment. If I do get elected I won't be able to amuse myself as much. Now is as good as of a time as any to announce that I'll be expanding my election team! Pay will be minimum (but come on you're already getting paid minimum, thisll be on top of that), but with promises of bonuses upon election.
  10. Wow, two nights in a row. That's amazing. But I wish Matrim hadn't died, he was the one person I actually trusted.
  11. The Hawaii situation has been resolved, and I should be able to remain active in this game throughout my vacation. Campaign speech #2 (which will continue until I get voted as representative.) [please note that all of my comments are made in good fun and to parody politician stereotypes, and do not reflect my actual political opinions. Also sorry if this one isn't quite up to par with my last one, I haven't slept properly in 24 hours, but I wanted to get this out before I head to bed] My fellow workers! It is good to see you again. I see that I wasn't quite trusted very much, so I decided to spend more of my money in order to campaign more and improve my public image! A situation has come to my attention that I would like to discuss. It sounds like the nobles in charge of the factory heard about our desire to have better wages. And you know what they said? They said, absolutely not. Rust them, and their greedy fingers. Now, that in and of itself isn't a huge issue. But what is, is the fact that apparently, they are considering hiring some individuals from out of the city to work here, to replace us if we seriously pursue this. Where do I even begin with this? You know, as I mentioned last time, that I've been working here a long time. Of course, I've lived in this city for a long time too, my parents were raised here, and I've been raising my kids here. Most of you who I know personally either live here in the city or nearby. We're a community, and this factory is a part of that. So what in Harmony's name are the nobles thinking that they can just grab some underpaid workers from Elendel, and bump out all their local workers? That's plain wrong. They're a part of this community, this city. They provide important livelihood and jobs for the people and economy here. Outsourcing both undermines their connection with the city the factory was built in and makes the community lose trust in them. I see this as both being bad for them and bad for us. In the short term, they may be able to save on production costs, but have they thought at all about the support the community gives to all the workers and various workplaces throughtou the city? No, they haven't. While generally the stuff we make in the factory tends to go to Elendel, it can't go there if our city just decides to stop giving the factory a permit. Which very much could happen if all the workers here suddenly lose their jobs just for daring to request to be treated like people, and not machines. I'll say this now, and I'll say it again: we cannot take this lying down! We MUST summon our courage and stand up against them and their decision. Not through violence, but through clear facts and bold action. If that means threatening factory shut down, we have to be willing to do it! And most of all, I will never let any outside workers take any jobs here. This I promise you each.
  12. Alright, the crappy situation in regards to getting to Hawaii was resolved, I made it, and it seems I'll have enough time on my hand to at least post something actually relevant once or twice a turn. Which is good, I wasn't sure how much time I was going to have. Stick, if you're reading this, I apologize, I probably wouldn't have voted on you if I had had time to do analysis? I'm honestly not sure, since I haven't actually done said analysis. Thankfully the thread seems to have slowed down a lot, because the number of pages generated day one was terrifying. So I'll be able to reread everything without using up too much time. A quick, off the cuff recap of the gamestate as we are right now (mostly to organize my own thoughts). We started the game with 26 people, with an estimated 4-6 elims. We killed their most obvious role, Illwei who was Kogha. But they sniped back and killed Beedle, one of the most useful village roles. It seems Kasimir left some sort of trust group behind, although I don't know any of the details regarding that. So, they've lost one team member with a role, and we've lost one vanilla villager and one power role. I'd say, we're probably in the advantage here. We still have both Link and Zelda hidden (to my knowledge), Dannex is hard cleared, and no postmen have died so we should have some sort of communications going on. So from here, two strategies. First, continue to expand a village trust group. Second, (my preferred method) continue to analyze according to the information that we have to figure out who the other elims are, since we did manage to get one already. I remember a saying a long time ago that SE is a game of information, and information ball seems to be in our court. Hopefully we can keep it that way (PM SAFETY REMEMBER THAT THANK YOU).
  13. things just really changed in terms of my Hawaii trip, and it's been really stressful IRL so I'm not sure I'm gonna have time today for anything Because of that, analysis isn't going to happen. I feel icky about it but I'm going to vote stick because it's the largest lynch at the moment, and I don't really have time to figure out who else to vote on. Sorry about that.
  14. Sorry guys, I said I'd do analysis today and I ended up getting my new phone today which was very shiny so I've been setting that up... I'm going to do a full reread of the thread SOON. Very SOON. I want to contribute what I can before I disappear into a beach. So I will make that happen tonight.
