  1. Does The Last Siege of Y'Ghatan occur at the end of HoC or towards the front half of Bonehunters?
  2. "Very well, permit me, if you will, on this night. To break your hearts once more." Pretty sure I cried more this time around than before...
  3. Oooooooo! Another sister for The Lady? Let the hype begin now.
  4. Just pulled my back shoveling a half foot of snow that was left for me by the evening shift at work. They never touched it once... And never do. It's ridiculous. They also don't clean up spills and other messes cause "the night guy cleans anyway." Well that's not an excuse to make it harder for me. I'm so done with playing their catch-up work. I don't even care anymore that it reflects poorly on me that things aren't done. I don't get paid enough to be the only one shoveling. Commercial snow removal is hugely expensive and they've been getting a free pass on it. Everyone else can either pitch in and help or they can start paying me extra for it. I'm done.
  5. @Ammanas Fish on! Fish on! @TheOrlionThatComesBefore Let us know how it is! I just saw a trailer for that this week and it looked good.
  6. Almost to the seige of Capustan and I have to say that so far MoI is still holding it's position as #1 for me upon my re-read. I feel like I'm really fleshing out more scenes in my mind this time around and catching so many things that seemed insignificant before. I ordered this today for the Christmas tree next year. Completely forgot about Kruppe standing down Caladan Brood's hammer swing. I like Kruppe more and more every time he's on stage.
  7. Didn't catch it the first time, probably because the names weren't familiar yet, but Toc the Younger is the nephew of Catheron and Urko Crust.
  8. I thought that had a pretty sad death too.
  9. @Briar King You shall lead us, Winged One, and we shall prevail! Lol, that's a great scene. @officiumdefunctorum I'm in the same boat. I was gonna take a break but now I'm on Memories of Ice.
  10. At least there is a fair amount of time before you actually need that voter registration. NY primaries aren't until June unless you are looking at a more local level. Fun fact; Nobody I've ever voted for has won an election of any type, all the way back to high school student council. So.... Lol, this chull we're in right now? Not my fault in the slightest. Only thing casting a vote has ever won me is the privilege of losing income to attend jury duty, and the knowledge that it's not my fault.
  11. Just saw that "Fiddler on the Roof" was on the classic movie channel and got an image of Fiddler hanging out on the roofs with his crossbow and cussors.
  12. It's at least admirable that you recognize the fact that you are (potentially) the weak link. It shows a decent level of self awareness, imo. My issue is the opposite of yours, and your awareness gives me hope that maybe these people I work with are also aware. I constantly have to pick up the slack of things left undone by the shift before mine. I can't let it go or it will reflect poorly on me, and I can't complain about it or it will also reflect poorly on me. So I'm stuck. I partially blame myself for the situation I'm in. I could have been anything but didn't have any motivation to do so. So now I'm stuck with coworkers who can't understand that not cleaning up a mess while it's still wet makes it harder for the guy who has to do it when it's dry. Don't even get me started on the snow shoveling.... I drew the line on that one only to get swatted down by my boss. I stopped shoveling any snow that quit falling before I got to work. If it didn't snow while I was here, it shouldn't be my problem. Instead, my coworkers allow it to be walked on and frozen down so I get to spend an hour scraping it up during a subzero northern Minnesota night instead of them doing it in 5 minutes while it's above zero and daylight. End of rant. TL;DR: Don't be a chull and make things harder for the next guy.
  13. I disagree. The production value is sky high on this show. CBS All Access is only $6.99/month. That puts it at $1.75/episode just to watch Trek, not counting everything else that is available with the service. That is amazingly cheap. You could watch an entire season of Trek for the cost of 2 movie tickets, popcorn, and drinks... Perspective is everything. Besides, cable is already pay TV. Trek has only ever been on broadcast until now.
  14. Glad I found this post to go along with your PM. Clark Ashton Smith is going on my list.
  15. Currently watching Supernatural and Star Trek: Discovery. I feel like Supernatural is having one of their "on" seasons right now. I was having a hard time getting my wife to want to try the new Trek (even though she's seen every episode of TNG) until I told her that Malfoy's dad was the captain.
  16. When cooking, you have a Safehand and a Freehand...
  17. I know! It'll be awesome to do again in a few years. I think I started in the world of Malazan around April 1st 17'
  18. Still on my DG reread. It's 10x better when you know what's happening
  19. I think it was April when I started Gardens of the Moon the first time. It could be done twice in a year but I read The Black Company series, "@Briar King#Slogbringer" and a smattering of others.
  20. I laughed a lot more during the Esslemont books and generally had fun. Erikson's had me sitting forward and getting epic chills way more often. Notable exception during RotCG
  21. I'd have to say that 4 was my least favorite of the series on first review. I'm still on Deadhouse Gates right now on my re-read, and it hasn't even been a full year even since I read it, but this has been the most rewarding re-read of all time so far.
  22. I'm assuming you are a high school student. So, how can the band instructor expect you to be taking private lessons while you are in another teacher's class?
  23. "There is no struggle too vast, no odds too overwhelming, for even should we fail - should we fall - we will know that we have lived." -Anomander Rake
  24. Oh man... The chills when K'rul explains the nature of Dragnipur for the first time to Kruppe
