Name: Lift the Awsome Level: 10 Atribute: Earth Type: Awesome Incarnate Attack :1000 Defence: 1100 Effect: You can special summon this creature without sacrificing. If you do, you can not normal summon this turn. This creature may attack your opponent's Life Points directly. If you do, switch it to defense until next turn. If another creature dies, equip it to Lift the Awsome if possible. Lift gains 100 attack for each level of each creature attached to her. I had to make Lift 10! Lol. Ok. I thought that a good way to represent Lift would be to allow her to "slip" past your opponents deffences. However, she tends to be a little unsteady when using her awesomeness, so I thought that switching her to defense would be sorta like her slipping and falling. There are other things that could be done for her, but I wanted her to remember those who had been forgotten. With each creature that is lost, her bond with them allows her to grow stronger.

Vending Machine: Sanderson edition (game)

Hmmm... just ran across this old thread while looking for posts about Larkins. Not sure why this died of but I'm gonna try to perform CPR on it... You get back a wiff of morning breath. Inserts some recently discovered "lost" marbles.- 3759 replies

That's true. I'd say that there are still some around though. One of the things I wanted to say earlier too was if it is true, it was like the island/greatshell saw Rysn leap off its head and fall and was like "0_O What the heck girl!? Are you crazy?! Here. Take this before you kill your fool self..." Sorry. Just thought the idea behind that was a little funny, but it's one of those things in plain sight that people don't pay enough attention to. I could see Brandon doing something like that. Add in the fact that they have to serve some major role or there wouldn't so much emphasis put on Rysn getting one. Rysn has one that's alive, and so does Nalan. The dead ones still have value though apparently, so consider the fact that they received a dead one in the trade, and King Elhokar has one encrusted in crystal or something that he uses as a paper weight. And let me ask this. Is his Larkin simply in crystal, or is perhaps a dead shard plate that still has chunks of plate attached to it? Perhaps someone ripped the Larkin out like it was the shard plate's heart, thereby actually killing the plate.

Ok... This is just my opinion, and it doesn't have a ton of proof to back it up, but personally, I think that shard plate is connected to the Larkin. They feed on storm light. So does shard plate. They can suck the storm light from a radiant. So can shard plate. Look at the time when Kaladin was helping in the arena. He put the helmet on his fist and it began absorbing his storm light. Nalan would know this and would use it to his advantage. He wanted to stop freshly forming surge binders. The surge binders grow stronger and better at storm light manipulation as the progress through the oaths. I think that if one were to progress far enough through the oaths they could hold enough stormlight for the Larkin to bond and change. Running out of time so maybe I can explain better later. Also the Larkin have silver eyes. Plate is naturally silver in color. I think that the Larkin are going to play a big role in the creation of new shard plates.

Someone may have already said this but I'm going to say it now. Jasnah is interested in people who are mentally strong. She likes Shallan, because she is rather witty and shows great mental potential. So who do we know that's mentally stronger than Shallan? Managed to outwit her with 4 little words. That's right! Stick!!! The only one fit to be with Jasnah on mentally equal footing is Stick! Stick is already a world hopper as well. They have so much in common! It just works...
-
Name: Jasnah Kholin Level: 3 Atribute: Fire Type: Spellcaster Attack: 900 Defence: 2000 Effect: If this card is targeted by a spell, trap, or monster effect, you may remove it from play. While this card is removed from play, you may pay 2000 life points to special summon it to the field. During your main phase you may pay 1000 life points and discard one card. Look at the top three cards of your deck and add one too your hand. Shuffle your deck afterwards. Jasnah is pretty pretty strait forward. She has her world hopper ability that lets her avoid danger. And she can always return, if she's willing to burn some storm light, or in this case some life points. Jasnah is able to soul cast as well. I didn't want her to be completely broken, so in order to soul cast she has to pay storm light/life points. She has to give up something in order to soul cast it so you have to discard a card. And letting her search your deck for anything is just too much, so I figured her fake soulcaster had 3 stones so look at 3 cards and choose 1.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

Ugh. I had a blue pin explode earlier and leak blue ink all over my hand... My first thought was... "Well crap. I just went from feeling bad today to looking like a bad guy..." -

Ok. On a similar subject, what if the character were made into duel monsters? For instance... Name: Kaladin Storm Blessed Level: 4 Atribute: Light Type: Warrior Attack: 1900 Defense: 1200 Effect: If this creature attacks another creature that is in defense position, and the attack of this card is higher than the defense of the targeted creature, inflict damage to that creature's owner equal to the difference in power levels. If one of your other creatures is selected as an attack target, you may switch the attack target to this creature. If you don't, and the attack target is destroyed, this creature looses 200 Attack. He's a spear man so he should have piercing damage and he has to protect. If he isn't protecting others, his bond weakens and he looses power... Now we just need a Syl card and a Ritual card that specifically needs these two to summon a ritual version where he is in his radiant form...

Look. I give Rothfuss a hard time, but he in all honesty is the only other writer I love as much as Brandon. They are both incredible in their own ways. I've been giving him a hard time about how long this last book is taking, but in all honesty, I do want him to get it right. I absolutely loved the Eragon series, but the last book just killed it for me... The first half of the last book was going great, and it was like Paolini just said screw it, let's wrap this up and he just rushed the ending to say he was done... Very disappointing... Like I said, When it comes to Rothfuss, I just wish we could see that there was some progress being made. (30 minutes for one word?!)

Book Recommendation for Sanderson Fan
DarkJester replied to Dubisx's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Nailed it! Thank you! -
Ok. I'm sure he does, and he's an amazing writer. He's the only other author out there that has managed to pull me in the way Brandon has. I'm just sooooooooo tired of waiting for his third installment. If we even had a glimps of the light at the end of the tunnel, I'd be happy. Wouldn't care if he said it'll be out in five years... I just hate being stuck in limbo and not knowing when (or at this point even if) he's going to finish. Sopposedly he has already wrote it... If so, why not release it? No idea if that's true... Personally, I think he made some serious promises in the first two books, and he's just bit off more than he can chew... The first two are definitely 2 of my absolute favorite books, but this delay has really made me doubt him...

I don't know, maybe I should have posted this on the writing excuses board, but this seemed close enough to what I wanted to know. I was listening to an episode of writing excuses a while back and I think it was Brandon that said he was working on this book. Again, it's been a while so I could be wrong. It was set in the future where they were using video games like a drug. I guess they hacked the game or something and it was causing them get high or something. Can't remember, for sure but I think people were dying or something. Don't remember much about it. Does anyone else know what this story was called or who, if not Brandon was working on it. I really didn't do it any justice in my description, but any info would be appreciated... -
Nooooo!! Do not read the king killer chronicles!!! It will hook you just like Sanderson books do. Unlike Sanderson though who loves his readers and works very hard to give us new material at a rate that has led to many wild yet otherwise inexplicable theories as to how he does it; rothfus has been sitting on his third book for years now and has no fan love. You'll find yourself in the same situation... Two absolutely amazing books, and no conclusion anywhere in site, and many, many sleepless nights wandering just how it ends...

I'm gonna give it a try... it seems to be my only option... does anyone know where I can get my hands on some Bendalloy?

Mistborn Dragonsteel Leather Edition
DarkJester replied to NewbSombrero's topic in Events and Signings
I always assumed it was preservation... It used the same strategy for Alendi and Vin. Stab someone and force the person to use the powers to heal the wounded person. It may have hurt someone but it did so in an effort to preserve the balance of things. Then there was the fact that the mist spirit began to disappear after certain events... Maybe I'm wrong and just assuming... Dunno... -
I don't know about traveling companion, but it has clearly imprinted on her, and remains mentally connected to her to this day. It seems to exhibit traits much like Nightblood, speaking directly into her mind. I propose that Stick is actually more powerful than Nightblood, at least in this aspect, considering it didn't just speak to her, but nearly through her. Luckily Shallan is mentally strong enough to hold back the mental compulsions of Stick. I wander if it was her mental strength that saved her from Sticks commands, or if it was a weakening due to distance though. I'd have to assume it was distance based on the fact that Stick was mentally superior to Shallan while in hand. Proof being Shallans inability to soul cast Stick into flame. What ever the reason, I believe we can safely assume that Stick is a force to be reckoned with... Maybe in the upcoming Nightblood book, we will actually witness a showdown between Nightblood and Stick...

I'm in need of a Christmas miracle. I finally got my copy of AU for Christmas. I'm dying to read it, but apparently I'm supposed to be visiting... What do I do?!
-
XD I thought of this one while listening to the Kaladin and Szeth fight. Szeth kept seeing what Kaladin was doing, like Syl becoming a spear/shield/halberd and so on, and kept yelling impossible!!
