  1. I've considered switching my vote to PK from looking at the updated tally. The ones not voting for Ecth are really spread out, and I think PK is more suspicious than Ecth. But I'm going to keep my vote for the sake of discussion right now. However, I'll switch my vote to PK if another person votes for PK as well, since I'd rather lynch PK than Ecth. @Jondesu would you consider changing your vote again? Vote Tally: (0) A Joe in the Bush: TheMightyLopen, (1) Paranoid King: Jondesu, Hemalurgic_Headshot, (1) Ornstein: Paranoid King, (1) Elenion: Ecthelion III, (1) Seonid: Frozen Mint, (4) Ecthelion III: TheMightyLopen, Elenion, randuir, Jondesu,
  2. I find Ecth's lack of posts odd, and I think that would be good justification for voting for her, but her responses strike me as very confident. I don't know much about Elim!Ecth, but the way her recent posts are written come across more as village. Of course, that could be a trick as well. I'm going to refrain voting on her for now. I have mixed feellings about Ornstein. He hasn't contributed much to the discussion, says that he prefers not to vote until after cycle 2, but then casts a vote for Stick, again not really contributing when he does so. He kind of seems like an elim who's laying low. However, the contradictions almost seem too obvious. Wouldn't an elim be more careful? As far as other suspicions go, I do find it strange that PK blamed himself for Stick's lynch, and his stated reason behind that blame (Stick being the only serious vote he made C1 and C2) doesn't make much sense to me. Was the true purpose of PK's comment to show us that he's a true villager, rather than to show genuine remorse? I'm also leaning elim for Seonid. He was suspicious of Lopen killing DA but doesn't actually go as far to say that he thinks Lopen is an elim. It's not unlike villagers to question other players, but the way I read the post, it seemed like Seonid was strongly suspicious of Lopen, not just testing out a possibility. But what really has me suspicious of Lopen at this point is that he asked Lopen to reveal his C1 action. As has been already pointed out, not a good idea for a villager. So my vote will be going towards Seonid, because I feel like my evidence against him is more concrete than my evidence against PK.
  3. After going over the last cycle's post and getting my head around things, I'm leaning village for Brightness and Orlok. Their efforts to help seem to be straightforward and genuine. I'm leaning village for Len as well (not as strongly as I am for Brightness and Orlok, but leaning village all the same), since he came up with the coin flip plan. I'm paranoid about Aman being an elim, just because his writing style comes off as maybe trying to be too helpful, like he's trying really hard to prove to everyone that he's village. On the other hand, his posts are actually helpful. But I had the same conflicted feelings during the last game I played as well. So I'm wary of him, but I wouldn't say that I have an elim read... I want to see where the thread goes this cycle, but for now, I'm going to place my vote on Stick. Both Stick and Straw seem slightly suspicious to me. Straw for posting and being active, but without adding much content to the discussion. I'm not going to place a vote on him (yet), because, vaguely recalling the games I've played in the past, he just seems to play this way in general. But I'm going to keep an eye on him, because I think it's an awfully easy way for an elim to be active while putting themselves at minimum risk. Stick stands out to me more, because after rereading the posts from the first cycle, she seems to contradict herself. First she says that she suspects that one of the people who had posted so far is a Forgotten. After Orlok questions her, she clarifies that eliminators often propose ideas that seem helpful but actually aren't, but she hasn't seen any plans like this posted thus far. But then why be suspicious that someone who had posted is a Forgotten? Aman questions her after that, and she says that she likes to keep her eye on players who seem the most helpful, but it sounds like backtracking at this point. I feel like her posts, taken individually, bring up some solid points. However, taken together, I can't help feeling that something is off.
  4. Whew. Finally finished catching up on the thread. I'll try to make a post every cycle, but I'm out most of the day, so I won't be as active as I'd like. I really wanted to RP this game, but it looks like I might have to keep that to the weekends. I like the coin flip idea. But I'm thinking that one additional flip would be better rather than two. So, for example, an odd player will flip a single coin on an odd cycle, and if it lands on heads, the odd player uses a Line of Warding. One additional flip essentially causes the same amount of uncertainty as two. Either way, if a chalkling spies on a player who makes a Line of Warding, it'll be just as difficult to work out whether they will draw a Line of Warding on a future turn. Besides the Line of Warding, the Line of Making and Line of Forbiddance are our greatest assets at this point (even if you take specialists into account). I'd put more emphasis on Lines of Forbiddance simply because we have other methods of finding suspects as well (i.e. via the thread). We can collect more information, but a dead villager puts us at a great disadvantage. Ideally, the total number of Lines of Forbiddance drawn by the village should be greater than the total number of Lines of Making, though the total number of Lines of Making should not go to 0. I'm not suggesting that we put a system in place to ensure this, because I feel that would greatly diminish an individual player's autonomy. Rather, I'm trying to encourage using one action more often than the other. I'm not going to vote for anyone because I am currently against voting during the first cycle. It's an excellent way to give the elims a dead villager at no cost since we have so little evidence. Hopefully, that post was clear... Feel free to poke vote me if it's not. For future reference, if you poke vote me just to bring me into the thread, but with no specific comment, I'll probably ignore you depending on how busy I am.
  5. Well I haven't been on SE in ages, and it looks like I stopped by at a good time. A Rithmatist game sounds awesome. Sign me up as Shanice. She grew up as the privileged daughter of a knight senator. Her father, however, feeling that she's not living up to the family name, sends her off to join the military. But Shanice ends up getting in a bit of a skirmish with another soldier (something about how Shanice's complaining made her sound like a "spoiled little daddy's girl"), and, well, she can't go back home until she's redeemed herself. I'm really busy, but FYI if I disappear, pester El about it, she knows how to track me down. Also, if you haven't read the Rithmatist, go read it. Gosh, what kind of Sanderson forums are these.
  6. Wow. I can't believe I completely forgot about turnover. Good game everyone.
  7. Now this is much better. Conq
  8. Well this is brilliant, because I have a lot of hats.
  9. I don't think this is fair. For some people, playing to compete is fun. That kind of atmosphere is enjoyable to them. Don't get me wrong, anyone who isn't having fun should speak up, and we should all try and do something about that. But you can't treat this as a black and white moral issue where a very competitive environment is wrong in and of itself. I hadn't considered this. It's a fair point, but at the same time... is this "prolonging misery"? Whether or not we killed Bugsy now or later, he still loses. The only difference is that in one case, everyone loses, and in the other case, a few others may get to win. In this type of scenario, we'd need to take into account the feelings of the specific eliminator. And since we're on the topic of fun and good sportsmanship, I'll mention that there is one thing about the game that has bothered me. It's the attitude "if I can't win, I'll stop others from winning." It hasn't been the attitude of all players (I don't even think it applies to most players) but it's there. Though it doesn't bother me enough to completely ruin the game for me. I was still having fun. For the record, I don't think Wilson is lying about being attacked. I know I haven't been around long, but she doesn't seem like the type of player who would favor complex deceit. Although I also wouldn't be surprised if those who attacked Wilson weren't Children.
  10. @dowanx Any defense?
  11. Voting on Sheep to bring it closer to a tie. Bugsy (4): Bugsy, Ecthelion, livinglegend, PK, Bridge Boy Alias Sheep (3): The Young Bard, Araris, Mint Amanuensis (1): Sart Dowanx (1): Darkness Ascendant Lopen (1): Aman Conq (1): Bugsy
  12. I'm not willing to risk ending the game. But I'd also rather not vote for Sheep. The only piece of evidence we have against him is that he asked Bugsy about the number of GoH members in thread, and his (alleged) reason seems fair enough for now. I understand the worries about Bugsy, but too many people, myself included, have goals left to complete. I propose that instead of killing him, we keep him alive but take away his ability to do much by throwing negate and manipulate actions at him during the night.
  13. Sorry Joe. If what you say is true, the best thing to do is to keep the GOH faction alive but weakened.
  14. @little wilson Bard and I are on Scadrial, so if you're interested in my Lifeless, worldhop over.
  15. Well seeing as that plan didn't work, I'll exchange the Lifeless for a scan on Bard.
  16. I've got a Lifeless that you can borrow (for a price ). Do you have any items with weak investiture?
  17. Well, I suppose even if Joe is using a cover story, it's a pretty convincing one. I'll take back my vote.
  18. Solid evidence is an unreasonable standard, but having specific reasons (which is not something we had on Magestar- only conjecture being thrown around) to lynch someone is not. I agree with Dalinar. Especially after PK just revealed the name of who attempted to kill him, I doubt GOH isn't going to be more cautious about who they're going to hit. It's possible that one of them has the ability to misinform those detecting a kill (i.e. someone else attempted to kill PK, but they're pinning it on Joe). But holding an ability like that has the potential to overpower a role, so I find it unlikely.
  19. Mage (6): Araris, Joe, Sheep, Stink, Straw, EcthEcth (5): Bard, Aman, Magestar, PK, DocStink (1): ElenionPK (1): RaeStraw (1): EcthJoe (1): SilverbladeAman (1): DarknessSilverblade (1): Wilson
  20. I feel like we're basically asking for vote manipulation by tying up the vote. But there's at least a chance that no one will die by doing so, so I'll join that plan. Because if someone does die, I'm fairly confident that it won't be an elim. I don't see any good reason to lynch someone on day 1. I'll be on again right before rollover starts.
  21. I've only played one game with Magestar before, and he's acting pretty normal.
