  1. He nodded, setting his taco down gently before taking Ax's hand and heading outside. "Let's do it then." He trembled in anger, knowing that his and Ax's suits would likely get ruined... He didn't really care, honestly. He was more furious that the voidbringers were here. He took in the situation outside, trying to figure out how to help without getting in the way.
  2. Jace blinked at the sudden movement of people running this way and that, and one word got stuck in his head. Voidbringers... Again. And tonight of all nights? No, that was... he refused to let those stupid jerk ruin not only the best night of most of his friends high-school careers, but his wedding night... He knew martial arts, and he gripped Ax's hand as he looked at the doors. "Love, I'm going to go murder something if I go out that door. Should I go?" He subconsciously tried to breath in starlight, managing and not even realizing it. Not much, since there weren't many in the immediate area around them, but... he did it. @Sherlock Holmes
  3. Shae followed, biting his lip. It was an odd slap in the face, and a vague sense of deja vu. He hasn't been treated so... professionally? He hadn't been treated this way in a long time. It wasn't bad, or upsetting, just... very different from what he was used to.
  4. He sighed internally. "Alright... could you show me how to get there?" He was still relying on LinBli to give him a tour.
  5. He sighed. "Okay... am I allowed to know where I'll be working...?" He hoped so. He really didn't want to be stuck knowing nothing and not able to do anything... he just wanted to figure out what they wanted from him so he could go home... or at least see Dan again.
  6. Failen found that ducking was hard- instead, he hid as best he could in a shadowy area, watching relying on his being a shadow charmer to hide him from their view. Being unnoticeable was helpful when hiding... He had to suppress the urge to ask what was going on- both his mental magic and human nature urging to ask. He had to distract himself to keep from using the magic instinctively- that would be short-lived and painful, and it would make his magic take even longer to regenerate. He'd used so much just getting here... He shivered. That meant that there was more dark magic in him than light, at the moment. He didn't feel very good about that... it had never happened before. He began pleading with the world that there wouldn't be any unintended consequences of that fact...
  7. He shook his head. "No... not really. Just that my job would include more than just making forgings. I don't know exactly what I will be asked to do." @AonEne
  8. Shae blinked, following them to the door. He looked in, but didn't go in. He was being very cautious about being trapped. "What are you getting...? And may I ask what my job here will be?" @AonEne
  9. He nodded. "Thank you..." He uneasily began to follow them. He tried to memorize the path they took, hoping to make a mental map of the area for future use. He just worried it wouldn't be useful. @AonEne
  10. He nodded, biting his lip and grimacing. "Alright... would you go with me? I'm not allowed to leave, and I don't want to break the rules on accident. I don't really know what they are, after all..." @AonEne
  11. He nodded, gripping his journals and bag again. "Um... sure. Maybe where I'll work and where I'll sleep would be nice... other things after that..." He mentally prayed that the room he'd sleep in wouldn't bee the one he'd lived in for the past six months. He was almost certain that he hated that room a little... and he didn't want to be able to be trapped in it again.
  12. Shae paused, looking at the newcomer. "Oh... hi. I am very new, and... I don't quite know where anything is... Sorry, I'm Shae. What's your name?" He held out his hand, forcing an-albeit uneasy- smile. It had been six months- if LinBli had been at his kidnapping, he'd still have no idea who he was. Memory was a fickle thing... @AonEne
  13. Shae saw the blur of light appear, walking forward and finally making out the bag and the open doorway. He hesitantly stepped out into the corridor, bending down to pick up the bag. He had the sudden, irrational desire to go back into the room and hide until Dan could save him. He just wanted to go home... He shivered, forcing down the desire and stepping away from the door before beginning to look around. He absently brushed his longer hair out of his face. He hadn't trusted them or himself with sharp objects near him, so his hair was longer than it had been in a long time. He had even managed to develop a barely visible layer of facial hair- which was saying something for him. He started walking, hoping he'd figure out the building soon- carrying both the bag and his journals with him.
  14. He blinked, paling slightly but nodding. He hesitantly stood, nervously going to the door- or where he assumed it was- and paused, looking around to try and find a way out. "Then... may I leave?" He looked around at the room he'd been stuck in for the past few months. He was almost scared to leave- but also very glad he would finally be able to actually move around. He'd felt so cooped up in recent months... He started gathering his journals while he waited- the rest of the books completely useless to him. He held the dozen or so journals against his chest, looking back in the direction of the door. He wished he had some tin. Seeing anything more than five feet away was almost impossible without it. @Blessing of Potency
  15. He nodded, hesitating. "Okay... where am I going to be working...?" He still felt confused and uneasy. He wanted to go home... But he could wait. He was more worried about Dan.
  16. Jace happily stayed with Ax, looking for victims- er, friends- to talk to. He was a force if social nature- unstoppable and dangerous. Or so he imagined himself.
  17. Jace smiled, looking at the gift and hugging it. "It's something to me." He held onto the gift, eating his taco and stepping up next to Ax.
  18. Jace smiled at Cassie again and blushed, realizing his mistake. "I'm so sorry... Yeah, thank you... I'll love it. No idea what it is, or if Ax will like it, but I'll be very grateful. Thank you." He smiled at her gratefully.
  19. Jace nodded, grinning. "I'm definitely enjoying it so far- it's incredible. The decorations are gorgeous, the food is amazing... I'm excited to talk to people is all. I mean, that's all that matters in the end, right? The people." He hugged Edwin from the side, grinning before letting him go and snatching a taco.
  20. Jace smiled at him, grinning. "Hey! Thank you. You're looking sharp tonight- was I wrong in thinking it was a wear whatever you want kind of party?" He chuckled a bit sheepishly.
  21. He smiled, nodding and pulling Ax into a hug, taking a selfie with him as he did so. He then put his phone away, grinning and trying to lead Ax towards the food. "Then we'd better hurry and eat before they get at the food."
