  1. He bit his lip. Not much... I remember it involved my forgings and spiritwebs..." He trailed off, hoping Linbli would explain. It had been a few months of intense studying for him, after all...
  2. He hesitated. "You've told me a number of things... what are you referring to?" His mind flashed to Dan, his apparent betrayal. It stung again, and he forced it down, the room suddenly seeming to lose whatever warmth he'd originally felt from it.
  3. He nodded. "That is perfectly fine... it's honestly more than I was expecting. What is my job for now? I don't know what forging's you need quite yet, and until I know the rest of my job I can't do that part..."
  4. Shae looked around, blinking as he tried to reconcile this place with what he'd experienced from them so far. "I... Thank you... can I decorate it if I have certain preferences...?"
  5. I have no idea what I am at this point. I know that Po is the frantic mother-figure older sister desperately trying to cook a meal for the whole family on Thanksgiving using eighteen different cookbooks from seven different ethnic nations, and with multiple others trying to take over and help while also leaving her almost no time to actually focus on any dish. All the while, she also dashes out of the kitchen constantly to clean up messes or invite guests in while chatting for a few minutes with people she's known for years. And someone ordered pizza as well, which completely throws everything she's been planning on its head, leaving her desperately changing the menu and combining dishes halfway through. And it somehow still all ends up delicious, even if sometimes they simmered for a bit too long. @Blessing of Potency

  7. Failen nodded, then shuddered. The room was suddenly thick with... some kind of magic. He was sure what kind, but it was pretty heavy in the air. "Alright... are you not carbon?"
  8. Failen shivered. "I wonder how immune I'd be... I'm not entirely human, but I..." He hesitated. "I would... rather we get everyone somewhere safe as soon as possible." He was so glad he'd had so little light magic... It was returning though, thankfully. If slowly.
  9. Jace saw the continued fighting and tried to blind the teleporting Voidbringer one last time, the flash of brilliant light less intense but less than an inch from the storming creatures eyes. Then he ignored them both and focused on what he could do, clinging to Ax as he struggled not to lose whatever flow he was in that was letting him use his powers. It was getting harder, and the strain was hard to fight against. After all, the memories were being shoved down- without those vivid images, the illusions were more fake and less effective. He wasn't sure what else he could use, unable to think of anything vivid enough to use. It was such an oddly difficult struggle for his normally creative mind to do anything... @xinoehp512 @AonEne
  10. That's all i can think of for right now, but still... I love this idea.

  12. Jace was watching the battle, trying to hide or keep Ax from getting into the fight. He did see his friends getting hurt, and he desperately tried to help- managing to make a few more illusions here and there, mildly trip them up or distract them. Of course he was also keeping an eye on Cassie- moreso than the others. She was so hard to keep track of that he had to focus more on her to keep aware of her, to not lose her and let an enemy stab her in the back... which is the only reason he could make a small flash-bang grenade near the new voidbringers eyes when he appeared. He was scared- if they could teleport, they could get at them no matter what. That one had to die... he just wished he could've done more. It was just a small flush of bright light in his eyes, and a shriek to disorient him- he couldn't manage anything more. All these small illusions... they were so difficult to make. He had no experience except that first one he'd made and these small ones. Besides- they faded really quickly. He wasn't good enough yet... he was still scared of remembering those days in the ward. He couldn't face that part of his past yet- not fully. Even the small glimpses he forced on all these enemies were enough that he'd have nightmares for a week... if he was lucky, it wouldn't be longer. If Ax weren't in danger, he doubted he'd have managed even this much.
  13. Failen watched, almost trying to reach out and listen. The only reason he didn't do it on accident was because his magic was so low... He barely had any light magic left in his body. It was oddly draining...He hoped that the other people wouldn't notice him. It was a natural ability of all shadow charmers to be able to hide in the shadows, no matter how well-lit the room was, or how weak the darkness was. If he tried, he could hide in a shadow that only barely darkened the color of his skin. It was easy, but... he worried that it might be enough magic that the other Gathen would sense it. After all, he wasn't exactly good at hiding his magic- as the demon he'd met had told him. He just hoped that, because he didn't actively choose to use this magic, it wouldn't be noticed. He tried to resist the temptation to move. That would definitely not help...
  14. Jace blinked, looking at how everything happened so quickly, then back at Edwin. "More...? Seriously? I..." He breathed, grimacing and squeezing Ax's hand. "Fine. but after these are all dead and done-for, I am determined to have one good night. I swear, if they attack again after this, or tomorrow, I will personally figure out a way to start exterminating them." He was furious. Tonight was his wedding night- it was supposed to be special, wonderful. A time to celebrate, and have fun with friends- to help make for the fiasco of prom the night before. Instead, it was going to be a fight. A bloody fight. He had never felt so upset about something wonderful being ruined before... he'd never had something this important to him get ruined before- not that he could remember. He breathed, stormlight not coming this time. He wasn't preparing any tricks- he was planning to fight with Ax or kill some of them with his bare hands... if it came to that. He'd never done anything to lethally hurt someone before, even though he knew how. He'd try, though. He gripped Ax's hand furiously, determined not to ruin the night.
  15. Jace stepped outside, seeing everything. He grimaced, upset that he'd missed most of the fight. He hadn't been able to do anything... just like when those doctors had tried to 'cure' him... He glared at the final void bringer, furious. If these things didn't exist, he'd probably have known- the radiants might have found him before those doctors did, and he wouldn't have had to suffer. It was the void bringers fault... He ignored the stupidity of the idea got ignored for now as he lashed out at the thing- trying to make it suffer as much as he had. Maybe then they could get the thing... What he didn't expect to happen was light rushing out out of him as he grunted with the mental effort of trying to do whatever Lightweavers did and force the void bringer through what he'd seen, and what he'd heard. Light formed around the void bringer on all sides, not overly much, but enough. It didn't touch the thing, which he somehow knew it couldn't do, but... he could make it experience the light and the sound he'd seen and heard. Inside the odd bubble of light, mind-breaking flashes of light and blackness and color and seemingly impossible distortions of reality flared- visible only to the void bringer by intentional design. What he couldn't quite block from the others was the screams of agony the light also made. Every tortured scream of pain, every plea and sob he'd made during those days in the psyche wards... all of them played together in one potentially endless, looping cacophony that was impossible to quite understand. The whole thing vanished shortly after, the starlight not lasting long, but he was certain the that the void bringer would be dazed by it. Those memories were all still so real, if he let himself think about them...
