  1. A topic announcing this anagram was made some time ago. I think it was at least a couple years ago. I think I have the link somewhere, will post later.
  2. I'll point out that that was Nale's attempt to explain why there were Stormform Parshendi without it actually being a desolation, not an actual explanation of what was happening. In other words: a broken man's attempt to maintain his failing delusion which is being shattered by the eyewitness account of another broken man who saw the potential cause of the end of humanity. Note said second man was broken before the witnessing.
  3. The God kings were all infant returneds brought to the court in secret in order to make the people believe that the current God King had a child. Susebron's mother is probably the previous God King's wife or someone selected by the priests to raise him.
  4. That's the cellular level, which is well above the molecular level.
  5. Interesting thought. My opinion is more that they regained parts of their memories. In any case, we will know when Nightblood is released, whenever that is. Brandon has confirmed this topic will be covered.
  6. It's been confirmed that being bonded to a splinter on Roshar will grant abilities to the bonded entity. Those abilities will not always be surgebinding abilities though as the majority of fauna on Roshar bonded to spren cannot surgebind. My opinion is that Nightblood will not give Szeth the ability to surgebind, but will give him the power to hold stormlight as well as a set of enhancements. I just feel like it would make for a more interesting story that way, by adding a powered individual main character who doesn't surgebind, in comparison to the other three.
  7. Speed bubbles boundaries interfere with most manifestations of investiture, so you probably cannot affect someone inside while you're outside and vice versa.
  8. Remember that Dragonsteel isn't canon.
  9. A bond to a spren is necessary because they provide the change in the spiritweb which allows the KR to surgebind. Nothing has been stated that says that the change entails a connection to Honor or Cultivation, something which is different than a connection to pieces of them, as surgebinding appears to be a more net neutral system, meaning that they are not drawing power from some external source when they surgebind. I believe you could become a surgebinder using some other unconnected method if you figure out how to change your spiritweb in the required manner, perhaps using Lerasium. The argument that there are no surgebinders without spren doesn't really prove anything, as no one else has access to practical methods to change their spiritweb, other than perhaps using lerasium. In addition, the fact that they are called Honorblades, the Heralds of Honor and that the Oathpact was made between the Heralds and Honor only doesn't seem to indicate that Cultivation had any hand in their creation. Finally, Syl does state that the Honorblades were given by Honor, and are bits of his power. While she is not the best expert on the matter, she seems fairly aware of it. Most final point: I'd like to state that I'm more leaning towards surgebinding being just of Honor, versus of them both.
  10. It's been confirmed that Nale is using his original honorblade, but there's something more to it that will come up in Oathbringer.
  11. My opinion is that she's drawing it from the spiritual realm, not somehow converting matter into stormlight.
  12. I imagine sof, same if you are nicroburst.
  13. No, the paraphrased WoB on the matter seems to be indicating that piercings in general can be destroyed by it. Nothing indicated that it had to be a metalmind and you had to be tapping it during that time.
  14. There's a WoB that chromium would destroy the target's piercings as well, so I'm assuming that means that they count as a burnable metal reserve at that point.
  15. You're confusing terms I think. sDNA and your spiritweb are not the same thing, with hemalurgy cutting the latter. In addition, sprenblades don't cut the sDNA in my opinion, just general spiritual linkages to the physical body. Finally, by all accounts, hemalurgy is already precise, so I don't see why adding an extra step would bring any merit. So overall, I don't things would work as you propose.
  16. Makes sense. She probably starts with undigested sugars, then moves onto those digested into the blood and other parts of the body, which would start warning signals in the body.
  17. He wouldn't even need the gold metalminds in his stomach; you can burn any metal which is in some part within you. Piercing for instance can be burned.
  18. No, that doesn't follow at all. Just because it takes the Investiture of multiple shards to create a manifestation I don't see why it would take the Investiture of multiple shards to change someone's spiritweb to use that power. Surgebinding doesn't require a connection to the creating shards, unlike allomancy for instance, so no new connections need to be made. In the same vein, the spren aren't acting as conduits. They're just changing the spiritweb of those Nahel bonded to those them, like how spren change the spiritweb of any entity bonded to them, just that in this case it is granting them surgebinding powers, not enhanced size or anything. The manifestation of investiture surgebinding is not a result of Honor and Cultivation, though actually I still think it's just Honor, investing into people as you seem to think, but rather as a result of the shard(s) investing into Roshar. It enabled the existence of the surgebinding to occur, just like how the Investiture of Ruin into Scadrial enabled the existence of hemalurgy in the Cosmere, independent of his investiture.
  19. It has been described as actually exchanging sugar for stormlight, not deriving it from food storages. In addition, a clear loss is occurring since she becomes hungry.
  20. If someone could pull out a copy of TFE and flip to the back, I'm fairly certain there's a line by Marsh which is something along the lines of "Yes, all eleven hurt," in response to a question regarding whether his spikes hurt.
  21. Traveling through Shadesmar can cause time dilation as well, which is how a number of worldhoppers are alive for so long. Hoid probably uses a combination of that and some other tricks. I can't recall whether it has been said whether he is actually unaging, or is just using a set of tricks to extend his relative age over the millenia. It had been confirmed that he isn't using chromium feruchemy to determine where and when to go, but a process with similar underlying mechanics.
  22. I mean, it worked for 4500 years.
  23. The way I see it, a shard is splintered when connections between its components are sundered, in a manner similar to how components of Adonalsium were broken apart, connections between them lost, resulting in the sixteen shards we know. Since those shards can be pieced back together, I see no reason why the splinters of shards would not be able to, providing someone is able to hold them.
  24. Mist snapping didn't occur during TLR's time because Preservation did bother with it, because he thought there was no need since TLR was going to take the Well again. It only started again after his death because Preservation was in damage control mode.
  25. Wouldn't actually work since he would see metal lines to it.
