  1. Hello, welcome to the Shard! Don't be a troll, don't eat the cookies, and you'll have a great time! And have the customary upvote.
  2. When every time you use hyperbole your brother says "lies... mmmmm"
  3. Full circle!
  4. Heal Taravangian, hurt Mraize 5. Ruin- 5 9. Bleeder- 27 15. Taravangian- 21 19. Mraize- 47
  5. The Jeskeri do indeed appear to be neutral-evil. This means that Elodin's plan will not end in a village win, and so must be abandoned. Sorry, @Master Elodin, but Wilson makes sense: your win con puts you as N-E, and by definition if you win, the village loses. You have earned both of my votes next cycle. The way that you do not see happens to be the correct one. Since I have a gut feeling a village Chay-Shan has me in the crosshairs, I'll wait for the write-up to prove this.
  6. It indeed was Adolin's idea of a duel, probably one of the reasons that he didn't draw his blade during the fight, in addition to the inherent weaknesses of such a long weapon. Adolin will see Sadeas' death as the result as that of him winning a duel, in my opinion.
  7. Ditto that last one 5. Ruin- 79. Bleeder- 2615. Taravangian- 1819. Mraize- 49
  8. Amen! (I'm the oldest) I see your point there, although Adolin v Sadeas wasn't exactly an uneven fight; it wasn't like Adolin strangled him while wearing full shardplate.
  9. Why? Because my best interests appear to be different than your best interests, which you consider to be the village's best interests. I think an alliance is in the village's best interests, as long as we keep a choke-hold on the Jeskeri by threat of lynch on Elodin. Even more than the kill, I want the list of his faction so we can narrow down elim targets. Also, just a thought, we might want a Dula to hit Elodin just to make sure the Jeskeri aren't the full elims. Nice try. There's a very high chance that your Bodyguard or Legionnaire (chances are you've got at least one) won't stand for that. Also, did anyone else notice that Elodin, when mentioning his faction's ace here, called them a "she"? Who does that leave? I can think of Rae, El, Wilson, and Burnt off the top of my head. Bar Wilson because she wants to kill Elodin very badly indeed, and we've got a suspect list.
  10. If Adolin really wanted to fight while at equal strength, he wouldn't have used Shardplate and a Shardplate against the Parshendi.
  11. That's a pretty strong accusation you're making there, the type that litters the streets with dead Citizen bodies. I support a possible truce because I see an opportunity that you would have us throw away. Although I do agree that the Dula scan would be a stupid idea. I really doubt that we'll land more than a whole legion of PAFOs, as well as the name Jeskeri, a role, and a corpse. I say he's more good to us alive, where he can answer questions. Edit: @Burnt Spaghetti appears to be lurking. Doc convo with Elodin?
  12. The core belief of Alethi ethics appears to be a strange variation of capitalism: every person is not only encouraged but expected to serve their own self above anyone else. The only crime is going against the plan or belief of someone above you socially. Jasnah's transformation/murder of the dark-alley crooks will carry very few repercussions because she didn't cause injury to someone above her in the social hierarchy. The only people affected would be common darkeyes, possibly the families of the crooks, and they are so far down the social hierarchy that they have no chance of even talking to Jasnah, let alone seeking retribution. Jasnah will also stay guilt-free because of her "philosophy". Adolin's murder of Sadeas is another matter. The murder will affect Sadeas' immediate allies among the highprinces in a detrimental way, and so they will have both the motive and the means to get back. Political intrigue is a given; assassins a possibility. Adolin will probably experience some guilt, but since Sadeas tried to kill him I'm pretty sure Adolin will end with feeling justified. Great book, by the way. However, (Crime and Punishment spoilers) Non-spoiler summary of spoiler tag: Adolin won't be crippled by his guilt, only handicapped.
  13. Granted, and the barbecue itself has no strings attached. But whenever someone says the word "friend", you immediately become enraged. I wish to survive LG24.
  14. I honestly can't remember if I read Elantris or Mistborn: TFA first, but I'm leaning towards Mistborn. I loved the originality of the world; too many fantasy worlds are either too straightforward--"ooh look, the farm boy has magical powers, let's go kill this world's evil"--too idealized--"let's follow the good guys and kill the bad guys"--or too long to get into easily. Even the first part of TFE told me that the world was hardly a utopia, and even once I met the characters I couldn't tell where the plot was going. I also love the Sanderson world politics: everyone has their own motivations, resources, and strategies; no "I want to rule the world" here.
  15. First, my new thoughts on the Jeskeri alliance: Looking at the rules it appears that the Jeskeri are most likely a Neutral-Evil faction N-E players cannot win with the village (per the rules) The N-E players want to kill the village, but they also want to kill the elims as well Seeing as the dual-win won't work, I suggest we do not make any permanent alliance with the Jeskeri However, they could be useful to outsource single kills to I don't think we should kill Elodin, but I do suggest we all watch him. Any unsanctioned Jeskeri kills and he dies. Now, some RP When Ashkelon heard footsteps on the stairs, his first instinct was to run. It's assassins from my ex-partners! They've found me! He looked at the room's only window, closed and almost too small to fit through. That wouldn't work. Ashkelon ran to the corner and grabbed the stout wooden staff he had leaned there as a contingency plan. He gave it a couple swings in preparation: whatever came, he would be ready. He held the staff halfway down its length and twirled it: one end swinging right, down, left, up, right, down--KLONK! The other end hit him square in the chin. When the maid finally got up the stairs it was quite a sight to behold. Ashkelon woke up a few minutes later, chin throbbing.
  16. The Jeskeri are not the primary elim faction, according to something Elodin says is in their doc. They are a Neutral team with a kill. All players converted to the Jeskeri are put into the doc and considered Jeskeri, but retain their previous alignment's win con as well as gaining a new one. The Jeskeri win con is to kill all non-Jeskeri players. What is proposed is that we get 1 Village player converted to the Jeskeri. The Jeskeri then use their kills on the primary elim team and non-converted villagers. With only Jeskeri left, the Jeskeri achieve their win condition. With the actual elims killed, the village have killed all eliminators and achieve their win condition, resulting in both teams claiming victory. There are 2 possible problems with that plan: Elodin could be lying outright and the Jeskeri are the full-out elims. The problem with this problem is that such a play seems almost suicidal for an actual elim team to attempt so early on. I could only see a few players actually having the audacity to try such a scheme: Maill is one, me another, STINK a third. I haven't played enough with Elodin to know if he would be crazy enough to attempt such a scam, but I don't think he would be. The Jeskeri might be a Neutral-Evil team that cannot win with the village. This result could either come from misread rules or could be the actual Jeskeri plot: kill enough of us in the name of killing the other elims and the Jeskeri win a lynching majority. @Master Elodin Can you ensure that this is correct, as well as provide any proof that you may have to show that my 2 concerns are invalid? It also would be good for you to PM Joe as to whether you can team-win with the village.
  17. Interesting... so if you convert one villager, then kill all of the true eliminators, then the village wins as well? If so, I'm all for this unholy alliance, because with my vote record I'm not going to stay alive to the end anyway, so have to aim for a village team victory. Edit instead of double-post: I know... convert a confirmed villager, then have the Chay-Shans mow through everyone but starting Jeskeri and the one villager. Do you guys have a bodyguard or legionnaire who could protect our villager from elim attacks?
  18. Who is this "everyone else" that would need to be killed? Do you know of another elim faction? Also, so a Jeskeri is "outed" every kill you make. Does that mean one of you is killed? If so, why haven't we seen any Jeskeri deaths? Or is it they are returned to village alignment and so know all about you? Finally, if we do decide to make an alliance, I have strong village reads on Lopen and Aman, as well as currently-inactive Silver Dragon and, of course, myself.
