QF30??: Terror in Minas Tirith (Final Draft unless revisions are necessary) Story Outline Basic Rules: Roles: Blocked Kills, Failed Kills, Unsubmitted Kills, and other Non-Basic Rules Any tech people, I am having problems with a nested spoiler tag on Part 2. Anyone at all, your feedback is appreciated.

How would the doc be spoiled if the dead players aren't allowed to communicate with the living ones? No minimum; only majority. You could do it with one if you really wanted. This ability is meant to solve the problem in the case that all Mordor players want to perform a role action and not do the killing. It isn't required to that the LoM authorize every kill as long as there's no conflict. I'll clarify that in the next draft. I'll make a whole section on roles affecting write-ups and attacks to clarify. I'll do both. Thanks. The Jailor is a marked-for-death role that the prisoners will want dead, fast. I'd hate to give Mordor a player that might die first round, especially because in my new draft the prisoners will be told the identity of their jailor. Okay, I'll authorize OOG PMs. Since there's limited space on the Mordor team, there's actually a pretty good chance they don't get one. And about the Outlaws, I will clarify their ability affects on other players and the write-up along with the Guard's. Thanks for the input. I should have the next draft ready whenever I get time.

I guess I'd need that for my bandwagoning scenario to work. Thanks.

Mid-Range Game 15: The Dula Revolution
Elenion replied to Mckeedee123's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I express my condolences. I'm not sure who's an eliminator at all, and Aman proposed killing you due the danger of you being an elim. If it makes you feel better, the senate document will show that I was originally for scanning you, but caved to Aman's argument for lynching. But that makes it sound like it was all Aman's fault, so I'll take some of the blame (and the vote).- 727 replies

I'm afraid players (especially new ones since this is a QF) might be tempted to drop hints over the PM. Should I remove that note? The Mordor guard (If they even get one; there might not even be one since space on Mordor would be limited) would be useful for WGGs. About the noblemen's kill, see below. I love that between the liar and the prisoners, somewhere around 35% of the votes won't count. This is what I trust to make the game exciting, because a player that commands a clear majority of votes might not be lynched. I'll rephrase that: I missed it when I rephrased the day/night. Basically what the noblemen have is a nuke. The Mordor characters of course would want to use such a weapon against a protected character, but they won't start with a majority in the doc. Basically their role is to be a battleground: players on the doc don't want to reveal their names because they will then be targets of a Mordor faction who wants the ultimate weapon once their leader identifies the Steward. Inversely, the Noblemen (well, most) will want to use their ability on someone allied with Mordor, and early enough that Mordor can't control it. Okay, here's a slight change: no starting Outlaws. Escaped prisoners take on the outlaw role and respond to scans as such. I don't really want a second scrying ability out on the field too early, because I want the Palantir and the Steward to be the biggest targets for the Mordorians. Based on my calculations, there should no be about 5 prisoners, enough to make the Mordor players angry if they accidentally kill the Jailor and release the scrying roles. The house visit rules were notes to clarify who will be caught by the Outlaw and who can't, not to create a whole sub-mechanic. In my next draft I'll probably just move them all to under Outlaw. Here were my thoughts when I created him. 1. A Mordor prisoner would not be able to support his faction with actual votes, only bluffing. Killing the Jailor would help Mordor, but 2. Killing the Jailor releases detection roles, making it more likely that a Mordorian gets caught red-handed. Maybe, the prisoners' votes do count, but only against the Jailor. That would make it funny as prisoners are killed as bandwagoners while they're really only trying to get their freedom, and give the Mordor characters the option to fight against the prisoners' release to limit the number of detection roles, at the expense of not focusing on finding the Steward or fighting for the noblemen's nuke. 1. To obfuscate the real voting results. Mordor prisoners would love this. 2. To start bandwagons. If nobody knows your vote doesn't count, then they're likely to follow it if it makes sense. Thanks, and I should have another draft up tomorrow with my changes.

@Elbereth Will you check this out for any more inconsistencies? I put in a new role, destroyed another, made the Lieutenant make sense, added basic rules, and transitioned it to the QF's cycle system. Anyone wanting to make observations or corrections: your thoughts are appreciated. QF-in-waiting: Terror in Minas Tirith (Final Draft unless revisions are necessary) Story Outline Basic Rules: Roles:

Mid-Range Game 15: The Dula Revolution
Elenion replied to Mckeedee123's topic in Sanderson Elimination
We're debating the chance that, assuming you're an elim, that you are properly scanned. If you get your own we can't trust it. If I, Bard, or Aman get it and you're an elim, I'm pretty confident any of us would announce correctly. But the real question is Cloud: would he obfuscate the results or not?- 727 replies

The more senators we lynch, the more Jeskeri we might let in. Keep her there until we know for sure. There's also the chance Cloud is legit, gets it, and rats out El. What a ruckus that would cause! Or the chance the Cloud's an elim and he buses El.- 727 replies

I'm in on the senate document for lynching Mailliw and scanning Seonid. I'd suggest the rest of you do the same. My thread vote change: Seonid. Mailliw.- 727 replies

That could have been provided to you in an elim doc. You're mostly vetted, except the chance that El, Cloud, and you are in a massive elim conspiracy. Well, it wasn't me: I'm a landlord. Most posts: sounds like me. Sounds good. Sart. Seonid.- 727 replies

Mid-Range Game 15: The Dula Revolution
Elenion replied to Mckeedee123's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Yes, I was pushing hard indeed for action against El. I saw a weak spot in that El got Cloud on and Cloud vetted Straw. If El was an elim, that would get the rest of the senate into deep trouble indeed, particularly after the next death, when Straw would be elected and so over half of the senate would be contingent on El's alignment. As shown in the Senate document, I haven't pushed for a full lynch, only an inspection. An inspection, if given to someone other than El herself or a possible-allied Cloud, would prove the allegiances of not only El but Cloud and Straw as well. If she's legit, we can conclude that both Cloud and Straw are as well. I don't fear El due to any particular action of hers, but because so much of our future has been placed into the hands of an unvetted senator. My first choice of scan is definitely El, but I'd actually scan myself second. It's time to definitively prove my allegiance.- 727 replies

"I must leave as soon as the pass unfreezes. Can you provide lodging for me and my horse for the night?" Elenion unclipped an iron staff just taller than he was from his saddle and whispered a few words to his horse in an unintelligible language.
-
"Your preparedness leaves me impressed. Even in the White City itself, their vigilance-" He was cut off by a whinny from his horse. He patted it twice and went on, "Their vigilance was not able to catch this threat. What I need most right now is guidance. The fastest route to the city."

Mid-Range Game 15: The Dula Revolution
Elenion replied to Mckeedee123's topic in Sanderson Elimination
There's the chance that El is an elim but didn't want to call Cloud a non-village and her lie to be revealed when he's lynched. I'd only say there's a 20% chance, with maybe an extra 5% due to Cloud. And about lynches, I suggest we kill an inactive that isn't doing anything to help us anyway. I started on Sart but am willing to kill just about anyone.- 727 replies

Mid-Range Game 15: The Dula Revolution
Elenion replied to Mckeedee123's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Okay, guys, Meta's role gives me all the evidence I need. I'm ready to prove to you all that I'm village. Why I'm not Derethi: I got Eramit, the full-out Gyorn killed. There was no real evidence against him, only suspicion. If I would have said Village Merchant the suspicion would have been dropped, and there would be no way to prove his role except to burn both his action and a Kesegan Monk's in a strange reversal of a WGG. Most people accepted this at the time, suspecting me instead of being Jeskeri. Why I'm not Jeskeri: It's D1. No suspicions are confirmed, no roles scanned. Meta comes along and drops a vote on me (if you don't believe me, check page 7 of the main thread). He had no reason to bus me, and no reason to kill me except for being a senator that wasn't of his faction. It wasn't even in bandwagon, in fact, it was the only vote that I accrued that day (don't believe me, check the vote tallies on page 8). And if you're still not convinced, check out the time he tried to get me booted from the senate on page 8. In sum: it appears I got my vet without wasting the scan. Nice.- 727 replies

Mid-Range Game 15: The Dula Revolution
Elenion replied to Mckeedee123's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Score one for the Derethi! (I never thought I'd say that, but I just did). Ashkelon rose late as usual. He had gone to bed early last night, exhausted by the effort of single-handedly rousing a lynch mob. Who knew it would take so much work! Bribes had to be made, meetings to be assembled, and mercenary agitators to be paid. But it had all paid off, and the night's rest left Ashkelon feeling refreshed. His paranoia was further lessened when he got the report that a Jeskeri Cultist had been murdered in the dead of night. "Hmmm," Ashkelon mused, "If this keeps up I won't even have to move my investments!" He surprised himself with the comment; he was not used to thinking anything optimistic.- 727 replies
