  1. As a history major I can tell you there is a lot of Muslim influence from the Moors. Here is a overview if interested: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moors
  2. I really like it! Much better than any other cover for Oathbringer I have seen.
  3. Oh sorry. Its a novel about World War 1. It is a classic by Erich Maria Remarque
  4. Perhaps the soundtrack for Cowboy Bebop.
  5. The cost of stardom I suppose...
  6. Upon further reflection I deleted my comment. I was not confident in my guess and there was a potential for me to be misunderstood. Move along nothing to see here...
  7. Right on Briar King. Another good one I just remembered is All Quiet on the Western Front. It isnt until the last page (last sentence I believe) do you understand how chilling that title actually is.
  8. They seem a little plain to me but I like mine with a nice combination of gravitas and pretentiousness. Which was your favorite of his? If I had to pick one I would say Dead Beat.
  9. If anyone is interested this was just posted on the Kramer and Reading facebook page: Prepping. On page 968 of 1240. - Kate. I think it is obvious that she is referring to Oathbringer but, unless I missed it somewhere in the comment section, she did not specify. So anyways looks like its right on schedule!
  10. Finished Path to Coldness of Heart; ICBM's (intercontinental ballistic missiles) powered by spells in a fantasy novel? Yes, please! Going to start Godsgrave tomorrow by Kristoff; the first book in the series was allright (didn't blow me away though) and I hope the second one is good.
  11. Ok thanks! I will figure out how to create a custom stream. I didn't know you could do that!
  12. So in my recent news feed I keep seeing posts of chapters 7-9 in the Oathbringer Spoiler thread. I try not to read them, but sometimes my eyes catch a bit of it. Is there any way to make it so one can avoid seeing Spoiler thread posts in the recent news feed. Perhaps lock it like they used to do with White Sand and provide a password that everyone knows? I realize that a potential solution may be a lot of work so don't worry if you can't do anything about it though.
  13. @Briar King if it makes you feel any better I have a possible explanation for Republic of Thieves
  14. The hardback copy of Oathbringer isn't something that can be snuck around and read covertly. A approximately 1300 page tomb tends to stick out.
  15. This is the image in my head of Chaos dealing with those who post Oathbringer spoilers. But in all seriousness thanks for all the hard work you do keeping the board spoiler free!
  16. @Briar King I assume the theater life is not of interest to you? Or was it some other problem?
  17. Too bad Tezim is a Dakhor monk. It is a well known fact
  18. Or he doesn't believe what he says and just claims he is a Aspect of the Almighty in order to gain control, and not have his actions questioned. That's how I interpret it at least. Who can argue with the Almighty*? *Said with wryness in voice inflection.
  19. Most of us just read for fun. As long as it entertains thats all that matters!
  20. Its been a while but I think it was someones private wifi.

    Dakhor

Perhaps that should add some credence to my ideas
  22. It seems Hoid always has a soliloquy at the end of each stormlight book. I made this in celebration of that fact. The quote is from the end of Words of Radiance

    Dakhor

Since my theory (and I use the word loosely) may of sparked this thread I also want to add another Dakhor idea that I posted a while back. I am still convinced that Brandon decided on the name Dakhor because it sounds very similar to Dachau and immediately conjures images of horror to the reader.
  24. Looks like it's going to be a close call if this thing gets funded or not. 14 days left a barely half of the money raised.
  25. Continuing my Glen Cook Dread Empire reread. Just finished An Ill Fate Marshalling and going to start Path to Coldness of Heart (a novel that might have traveled the strangest road ever for a book to be published and came out about 25 years after the previous one). Love this series!
