  1. Verna hummed, pleased, linking one deathly cold arm with Warrens. "Then let us sally forth. Tell me, darling, upwards to the singing stars, deeper into the house, or shall we seek the depths that has no entrance? Perhaps your Light might lead us to a secret passageway or some grand treasure? With her other arm, she reached out, traced Brax's jaw gently. "Don't you all love thinking there's a third option?" She tapped the pocket where the cards lay, humming in a pleased fashion. "Such power, such danger you keep close to your chest!" How gloriously seductive... "Tell me, dear sir, might I be permitted to draw one?"
  2. Verna opened her eyes to two men beside her. She laughed, "Well hello there, gentlemen!" A deep curtsy. The boy's eyes darted here and there, a Light reflected in his eyes. How tantalizing. "Pleased to make your acquaintance, my darling, you may call me Verna. Forgive my presumption, but there is something in your gaze... You see Something, do you not?" A slow smile crept across her lips. "Something guided you here, my lucky friend. I had no guide but the call of the void that called to its own within my heart. Perhaps we shall venture forth together? I am intrigued to where you might be guided!" The other man looked sharply over at the word 'void'. Verna reached out, straightened his coat, noting the way he stepped back as her fingers almost brushed his pockets. "And who are you, dearest? One with cards is either a gambler or a cheat - at the mercy of the draw, or hiding one up their sleeve. Tell me, which are you?" ----------- Looks like someone decided I wasn't paying enough attention to her
  3. "Well well well," Verna breathed, taking in the house. On the outside, decay and ruin - on the inside, tapestries and velvet. "Aren't you a deceitful little thing?" She walked to a tapestry, vivid reds and bright gold depicting another house. One in another time and place, but perhaps not so different after all. The other explorers had spread out into individuals, some questing upwards, some further into the house, some hunting for the basement entrance. A feeling that most would call foreboding swept over her. Madness and terror lay in the wings, like moths under wallpaper. Verna called it 'anticipation'. All her life she had searched for that which lay just behind the skin of the world. Her mind a moth fluttering in the darkness seeking for that Light that would show the world for the pale translucent thing it was. Perhaps she would go mad. Perhaps she would finally see true. Perhaps that was what all madness was, really. Seeing the truth of the world while all mundane things became transparent. Now. Did she want to venture alone, or might there be a like-minded adventurer to quest with? The journalist, Talasin, another lover of words? Stars, the poetry they might make in the twisting corridors of the house! Or perhaps the figure with the cards? There was something powerfully attractive about a man who led his life by his cards, wrestling for meaning and control. Perhaps she would simply walk and see who the house placed in her path. Laughing quietly to herself, she shut her eyes, listened for otherworldly music, and let her feet take her deeper and deeper into the bowels of the house. ----------------------- (@Akimikoisthecutest @Mist.) Or whoever else would like to RP with this freak EDIT: I have officially made a Doc PM with everyone in the game except for Mippo, whose name I can't type into the search bar and so you don't get one This game has so many GMs >> I hope you all appreciate my effort
  4. A tall figure in a mourning veil and a deep black dress moves among the gathering. Their eyes could not be seen under the veil, but one by one each felt the weight of their attention. A blacksmith with cold iron in his pocket, wishing for luck or protection. A magician with a deck of undrawn cards, his face reflected in the void. A boy haunted by ethereal light that strained through the cracks. A girl with a stringed toy, herself perhaps bound by string. The baron, so magnanimous to all those so much less fortunate than he - seeming to hold nothing back. Two women, older, one with a cane and sharp, careful eyes. The other, bad knees, crude matter, but in her eyes the knowledge of the luminous matter that all were. What a crew! "I see I am not the only one drawn to the shadow of this dark domicile," The figure spoke, voice soft as a whisper. "Dearly beloved, we gather today under inauspicious stars to bear witness to things beyond our comprehension." A deep, wistful sigh. "Some will call us brave, or witless, but I know myself to be haunted since my birth by beauty and doom that await us beyond these doors. How terrible, how wonderful!" "How many of us, do you think, will walk out these doors again?" Then, quieter still, almost to themselves, they began to recite, their veil turning once again to each and every one present. "I stand amid the roar Of a surf-tormented shore, And I hold within my hand Grains of the golden sand — How few! yet how they creep Through my fingers to the deep, While I weep — while I weep! O God! Can I not grasp Them with a tighter clasp? O God! can I not save One from the pitiless wave? Is all that we see or seem But a dream within a dream?" (credit to Edgar Allan Poe)
  5. Oh I love the board game. Well, here's to not reading the rules, getting hopelessly lost, finding many a cursed object, and dying horribly! I'll be Verna, a writer who feels hopelessly drawn to strange, mysterious houses! May or may not come with a bird companion. Very liable to start quoting gothic poetry if and even if not asked. Deep into that doorway peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before; But the silence was unbroken, and the stillness gave no token, And the only word there spoken was the whispered word, “Erialle?” This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word, “Erialle”— Merely this and nothing more.
  6. I also very much want to see what happens the gambits would be spectacular, we'd never be suspected, and no one will trust us ever again. Edit: I still don't understand why I'm so feared, I am normal and kind and innocent and I was only evil for what, a couple games?
  7. You murdered the two Slytherins most happy to RP with you
  8. I have an MR upcoming at some point, don't know when, but I've finally threw together an extremely basic, barebones version of the game I want to run. I'm starting with the mood and atmosphere I want to create, and changing one or two main mechanics. Please let me know what you guys think! Pitch: Dead doc gets a voted kill, becoming the vigilante. Doc's Dead Doc Game
  9. Well, I got Mint and Ink sussed before I died Congratulations Wahr on your first elim game! Congratulations @|TJ| No one in the dead doc suspected you after you accurately conveyed my owl mail, hats off to you To all the new players @Verdance, @Miss Fallen, @Through the Living Ink and returner @Frozen Mint glad to have you, hope you guys stick around! Very rude that I died so early, I guess the elims just didn't like my art
  10. Where was Vera? Actually. Where was the rest of their team? Was this a dream? It really just felt like a bad dream. She saw Leonidas on the field, but no one else. The Hufflepuffs had disqualified themselves, and there was one lone Ravenclaw, not even on a broom on the field below. Not a big threat on the field yet, but she had to be careful. This dream was so odd. Could she just...end this game? Looking to the sky, she squinted to see if she could catch a glimpse of the game-winning orb. Ninja'd xD A broom zoomed past her vision, golden hair and determined blue eyes. "Vera!" Azalea gasped in joy. Seeker acquired, Azalea changed her focus to the Quaffle. No keepers in sight, she tossed the Quaffle into the topmost ring.
  11. Azalea stumbles from dark to light. Falls on the ground, heart pounding, breath coming in ragged gasps. Something had happened, something horrible. She'd gone to find... shed gone to meet someone at the... Somewhere... She remembered surprise... Terror, the flash of a wand... And then nothing... Her clothes were rumpled. Her makeup a mess. A broom was being pushed into her hands. "Come on, Captain," someone was saying, "Lead your House to victory." Captain? She'd never played a game of Quidditch in her life! Quidditch was messy and sweaty and she'd never felt the need to participate, but The voice was speaking again. "This is a special game. You're going to have to pick from the eight students before you. Come now. All that matters is that Gryffindor doesn't win." Shaking her head, Azalea tried to focus. Pictures. Siannain. Leonidas. Vera. Leokaidus. Raese. Tom. Emperor. Her heart clenched at the sight of the faces. It felt like it had been so long... Which didn't make any sense. "Come now! Pick your team!" Azalea shook her head, trying to clear her mind. She did know quidditch, even if she hadn't played. "Uh. Siannain and Leonidas as Beaters. Leokaidus, Myself, Raese as Chasers. Vera as the Seeker. Tom can be Keeper." "Excellent." said professor Snape. "Let's win this match."
  12. There's a lot to unpack here. 1) What do you mean a Mistfallen exe? The exe was Araris. Mistfallen was NK'd. 2) Secondly, why is TUM v!read for pinging but I'm not last game I was pretending to be helpful, this game I'm actually trying to be 3) Yeah, it does seem that you could very easily confirm if Grass was lying about Mist being prefect. Coco and Fallen above both gave reasons to why Grass might choose to lie about it. 4) I personally don't have a clear on Qian. They got a derp clear in the beginning, I don't know that they've done anything to warrant more than that. This is really well done Fallen! I definitely agree with your point on Grass, he's explained, i still think its odd he threw away prefect when Mist was so sure he was dying. Re: Hopper. and I see @TwinStorm just responded, I have decided not to pursue Worldhopper and Emperor right now. I mean I'll ping them again, @Through the Living Hopper @Emperor Comatose . Worldhopper's a known low activity/inactive, which is frustrating, but can't really be helped. I think it would be more helpful to actually pursue people who are active so we can find pairings. Re: Aman and Coco, not really sure what to think. I think Aman's continual gambits wear me out, but the reasoning he gives is sound. @coco.pudding I know you had a - on grass. Any other thoughts? Especially as it seems you're leading the exe right now? @Miss Fallen What are your thoughts on Ink and Mint specifically? EDIT: @Amanuensis Might do some RP later. Do you think Amara showed up and discussed things with Azalea? If yes, you can just tell me what she'd have said. If not, that's also fine, Azalea's probably used to Amara sometimes just standing her up xD
  13. I mean, same difference? Removed from game. If you died/got expelled, no one is sending you mail, you're sending mail to the player who got the Owl Mail perk. I got it this turn, so I got messages from Araris and Mist. I couldn't send messages to them.
  14. Okay, but why did Ink stand out to you? Could you point to a post or interaction you had with them that made you think they were possibly elim? I'm just asking because, again, no one else seemed to notice Ink and put a vote on them except for you. @Through The Living Grass Does the fact that you misunderstood how Owl Mail works change your 'reaction test'? To reiterate, you said if you died this cycle someone should send you Mail, but its the expelled player sending the mail, ie: you if you died. @Amanuensis So how's that reveal you promised coming along? Very interested to hear the results of your 'secret role'
  15. I will say, general SE Rules are that we don't copy/paste directly from PMs, so you should probably edit that to be a paraphrase. Still. Is that Mist voting for you to be prefect with the bolded yellow? Additionally, Mist was pretty sure he'd be NK'd N1 and said you should be prefect, and you still said it should be him?
  16. EDIT 2 There are a couple other interesting one offs. 1) Wahr is the only person who had Twin in their votes with a -2, but that was probably because Aman was going after Twin for a bit. At this point I don't suspect Wahr yet. I like their push on accountability. 2) Despite most people agreeing they were village, Qian only received votes from one person, Coco with +3
  17. Hey, I appreciate the wariness, but also have I actually done anything this game to warrant actual suspicion? I haven't lied about my votes, I've asked questions, I've shared my owl mail. That's all I can really do, yeah? Wariness is good, I'm wary of a lot of people, but also it's a little irrational to be putting - points on people just for previous games. Yes, I expressed wariness of Coco and TUM for games I've played with them in the past, but I'm also taking actual steps to prod them and give them ways to earn my trust/suspicion without automatically saying 'I suspect you because you've been evil the past few games' As for who I'm voting this cycle, its Ink, Miss Fallen, and Mint. If you die this cycle, you're the one sending the Owl Mail. I received messages from Mist and Araris, not the other way round. @Archer what's the inactivity filter like this game? Just checking for Emperor's sake. For the record of Non-Slytherins, they sent 2 PMs last cycle but have not been in thread. EDIT: Clarifying my reasons for voting right now: Ink, Miss Fallen, and Mint for me occupy an interesting dynamic where they kind of link to each other in their votes. Ink voted -3 on Araris and +2 on Mint. Notably the only person who gave Mint any points at all. @Through the Living Ink I see your post where you said -1 to Aman and a positive on Mint. Could you explain the rest of your votes? Mint voted +3 to Fallen. I've already expressed my confusion on why Fallen is ranked higher than Mist when they have never directly interacted Fallen voted -1 to Ink. Again, where is this from? Her votes are +2 to me, +1 to Mist, who people were widely v!reading, and her -votes were to Ink, which no one has mentioned, and -2 to TUM, who was widely suspected. Ink has not said much, why the - to Ink when there are more people who are widely suspected? Notably, Mippo was the only other person to give points to Ink, a -2. Possible fourth.

  19. Other anagrams for Tom Bombadil Donuts: I am bold bold sun bottom I am sod bold mold button I am odd lot boston bum I am blond dum boots boots I am tom's blond doubt I am dobson butt mold
  20. I get it, my question is just. Mist was prolific in thread, most everyone gave him + points, which is fair. Fallen only showed up in thread once, and your read on her is entirely from secondhand reports of Ravenclaw PM. I do not understand why you decided to trust Fallen more with a +3 than Mist with a +2, do you understand what I'm asking? Anyways this cycle I'm interesting in voting on Mint, Fallen, and Ink. Don't quite understand V!Coco from people. From my view, she has been present in thread but most of her content is agreeing with what other people are saying, which to me feels consistent with her behavior in LG108 and no one really sussed her til too late. I don't know if she's elim, but I'd want a lot more from her before I can begin to v!lean her.
  21. @Amanuensis can confirm what Coco said. I shared my thoughts in PM and voted accordingly. Qian expressed concerns about Ravenclaw. TUM expressed concerns about Araris and me Coco suspected Aman, didn't love Mist's reaction EoD yesterday. That's about it. No actual numbers. Also consider this your RP prod
  22. In the Slytherin PM right before rollover, Coco was expressing suspicion of the way Mist reacted to your 'hufflepuff exe' suggestion. Seems like a weird thing to do if they were just going to kill him, but yes. Coco has consistently expressed suspicion of you, and was willing to exe Aman/Araris/TUM before I put up my controversial 'don't exe Aman/Araris' post. So I'm surprised at the +2 as well. Araris also sent Owl Mail. Based on his message, he thinks Miss, Grass, Mint, Mippo, Emperor are more town leaning because he thinks elims probably engaged in light bussing with -1/-2 votes. Edit: Excuse me for wanting to keep you around Edit 2: Additional Data: People who didn't receive any positive votes: Coco, Hopper, Mippo, Emperor, Twin, Ink People who only got -1 votes: Ink
  23. Okay. Looking at the graph. 1) @coco.pudding some questions for you. +3 to Qian? Felt you had stronger village reads than Qian 2) @Through the Living Ink I don't think I saw you give your thoughts in thread, can you explain your vote spread and why you left one vote blank? 3) @Miss Fallen no one else put a vote on Ink but you with a -1, what's your thought on Ink? 4) @Frozen Mint I'm sorry, could you explain why +3 to Miss? You guys aren't even in the same house, what makes you trust them so much? 5) @Through The Living Grass You're the other person who gave Miss points. Again, why Miss? She showed up once in thread and you guys didn't have access to the Ravenclaw PM More questions to be added when I think of them. I didn't actually go through and tally all the points, as I'm assuming there isn't anyone learning a spell yet to actually manipulate results.
  24. How did you guys do 3 pages and 200 replies in less than two hours >> So a couple things. 1) @The Unknown Medallion can you confirm you did not do any positive votes? 2) I don't believe in secret roles, because Archer told me that I was the only one - I have the phoenix role which means I'm unkillable! 3) Mist sent Owl Mail, he suspects Ver/Grass and Qian. Ver/Grass because Mist believes the elims either were set on killing him or switched to him when he explained why he was the best target. Ver fits both because Mist told them early D1, and Ver, Mint, Cocom and Aman was also on during rollover to see him explain that again? Qian because Mist doesn't like how they gave him 3 votes, trusted Grass, and agreed with everything he said. Obviously, take Mist's thought with a grain of salt, but he was right about being targeted *shrug Also, for Slytherins, Coco/Araris were tied for position of second prefect. If Coco was elim that might have been a reason for elims to give Araris more negatives. I actually didn't vote for you C1, I'm honoring my promise not to vote new people early But you are fair game now. I'll need time to think though. Also @Amanuensis I can't believe you gave me -3 I thought we had something going!
