All very good points, but I think the OP might just be annoyed at the Kingkiller Chronicles. I do like the wiring of Kingkiller very much, but there are some things that do irk me about it, though I guess that applies to a few things from Brandon as well (though rarely). But with Kingkiller as an adaptation, I agree with you... Except if I have to hear a silence of the parts four times for every book produced, in whatever next decade that will be.

Wish granted. You get music for the prologue and epilogue for both books! Also Unite them was absolutely amazing, and this album in whole... so very good

[Snapshot Spoilers] Snapshot Reactions Thread
A Secret Corner replied to ccstat's topic in Other Stories
I would say that I liked it overall. I saw that there was going to be a Snapshot within a Snapshot almost as soon as I started the book, given that Sanderson will have twists, and my general knowledge and experience with the genre. I did not see that whole twist with killing Chaz. That took me by surprise. I did find that Davis had obtained a nice gun to be odd and a bit suspicious though. And further on the plot twists, I think it reminded me a bit of Oathbringer in how details, like stuff on the Recreance and humans coming to Roshar, was framed in a way I thought interesting and thought provoking. And I'm really annoyed about how curious I am about the Snapshots work, and the nature of the creatures involved. I mean really really anxious, frustrated and annoyed, especially as there is no reason to see more from New Caledonia, or whatever it was called again... -
Hmm... Welcome to the Shard! And remember to on the Shard at least, well, survive, *runs into corner* Anyways a) A good idea. I've read all the Alcatraz books, and I would say they are very very good... I think they are also good at appealing to just about everyone at any age. (just remember Alcatraz will be warning you...)... b.) If you want to see where some of Brandon's stuff in published works comes from, as well as how Brandon has changed as a writer in addition to a few tidbits, this is a good idea c) as far as what to read now, no In my opinion, I think you should start with Alcatraz, then get onto b and c. (and again, remember that Alcatraz will warn you) Have a good time on the shard p.s. Slow Regard of Silent Things was really, odd. Though I guess that if you can't tell that by reading it, we need to have a talk.

This is pure gold... or atium? Maybe a bundle of emerald broams or something.

First off, hello and welcome! I'm sad that your library does not have much Sanderson, however that is one of their common ailments in my experience. Perhaps the Evil Librarians are just annoyed that Sanderson doesn't work fantasy novels, about stuff like dieing and what not. Highly suggest you get on top Stormlight as soon as possible. Have a good time on the Shard. And, out of curiosity, would you happen to have any interest in cookies?

Blue Sky Over the Shattered Plains
A Secret Corner commented on bluesungfruit's gallery image in Stormlight Archive Art
Love the open, barren look of the place! Amazing! Good texture in both the ground and the clouds! If I have to say one thing, it would be that it is a bit more red than I've interpreted the shattered plains being, especially with all the crem covering the place in all.. Overall, fantastic, upvote added! -
I can't think of any feedback but... ... I think the very terminology involved in the above post speaks greatly about Brandon as a writer and why I, and probably others too, like him so much.

What can I even say... This is just pure Awesomeness and Amazing ... Something that we've needed and I've been waiting for like I waited for OB

Goodreads choice awards 2017
A Secret Corner replied to MonsterMetroid's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Actually, Brandon has won Goodreads before, so not quite a longshot by my estimation, but I would agree, and probably have to say fantastic beast probably also won because of people's thoughts on the movie, or just generally in relation to the movie. And, sorry if some people find this too offensive, but corrected, see if you notice -
@King Cole I've been doing a bit of 3d Printing at my school, and I think used your bridge four glyph, and somebody's windrunner glyph to create a bridge four Christmas ornament, medallion thingy. . Tinkercad Christmas Ornament.stl

One last time before I continue Arcanum Unbound
A Secret Corner replied to Knghtstlker's question in Cosmere Q&A
Agreed. The second era should definitely be read before AU, or at least before Allomancer Jak and the Pits of Eltania and Secret History. -
Hello, and welcome to the 17th Shard! It's good to see that someone else has picked up Brandon's books! Anyways, onto your question. As far as full books go, there is Elantris, Warbreaker, all of Mistborn (M:The Final Empire, The Well of Ascension, The Hero of Ages, The Alloy of Law, Shadows of Self, Bands of Mourning), the Stormlight Archive, a graphic novel called White Sand, and a bunch of cosmere short stories and novellas, which are available in an anthology thing called Arcanum Unbounded. And yes, you should read Edgedancer before Oathbringer, as it gives you some awesome stuff from Lift, as well as some *ahem* other important things. As far as Brandon Sanderson interacting with the community, I don't really know where you could go for that barring social media. Have fun on the Shard!

"So many references..." Secrets said, "however it was the woods between the worlds, not a garden. At least you used the right ring though." "However, I prefer to fight with those who have long since become Ascendant where they wish to fight. It's a bit more fun that way." "Do you really think that would work? Even without healing factors, resistant capabilities, or any telekinetic abilities, his reflexes and speed alone should make that useless."
-
"Well that was rather rude of him. Can I please cut a way out?" *sighs* "Yes you can, and before you ask you won't get to immediately slice up @Nashan'Elin." *Secrets pulls out a long sword with deep blue, silver, and green stripes, and cuts open the pocket dimension, and then resheathes his sword before stepping out * "Why did you have to sheath me again, locking me up? You leave me like that too often." *Secrets ignored the voice, and stepped out* "You realize that I use pocket dimensions as storage lockers? They're really handy for that. You could hardly expect one to hold me." "Oh and that Ascendant business was a bit annoying, but very interesting. Gave me some insight on reality, and your effect on it. Oh yes, I know that willing multiversal beings out of existence isn't easy, as I thought, it is a bit annoying. And for your information, the universe is more causal than you understand. So some of what you mentioned is misinformation in some regards. That's why I mentioned Ascendant thrones, in regards to killing a being that can survive death. You learn a lot about reality and multiverse in studying the Alleys and driving from the Highway along the Roundabout, as well as from other things."

*Secrets reappears* "Oh that's well and good, I was merely mentioning that you were bringing in elements of their universe." "However, there was no small spike in you, but applaud you for having enough healing powers gained to survive getting hit by a ~5000 mile spike." *Secrets frowned as he remembered another with extreme healing abilities.* "Deadpool, that was his name, right?" Secrets thought to himself, "I shut him up quickly but he was annoying in the seconds when he talked." "I didn't like him either. Can we kill him again?" Another voice asked, "No, Secrets though to himself, while reaching to his side. At least not right now." "Anyways," Secrets spoke aloud, whilst addressing points in a peculiar order, "I found this place because of the cookies, that and the wonders of good British television. Its interesting that most viewers don't know that in the simulation of the universe of this Doctor Who, it became real. Its interesting in that aspect, as the true universe of Doctor Who, the existing one that is, became too complex even for our attempts at simulation, resulting in the show declining in quality. You'd be surprised what so many unknown facets of reality can have even on TV shows. Thankfully though, the Doctor's universe is still awesome." "But wait a second," Secrets thought to himself, "hos body must have been completely obliterated inbetween the spire and some of my active investitures." *Secrets sighs* "Is this another one with an ascendant throne," Secrets thought to himself, "The last one with one of those wasn't to hard was he?" "True, but learning the physics of those is annoying, to try and change reality. It took me long enough to figure out causality and the workings of my realm, and gave me more than enough of a headache at first. Learning the workings of Ascendant thrones is annoying if I'm needing to fight hordes at the same time. Besides, its annoying to try and find them." "You could always just will them out of existence." "Yes, but especially for beings with investiture and knowledge such as this, it can be frustrating in condensing the power to begin an investiture like that." Secrets continued to himself in thought...

*sighs* *Secrets walks through a hole in reality* "A fighting thread, really" *sighs again as Secrets tears more holes through the fabric of the universe and hundreds of Weeping angels* "Hmmm... I'm surprised no one has figured out how one can use these Angels to their advantage, if they have the right power, Secrets though to himself." *Secrets turns his attention away from the angels, letting them clear out all low level contestants and nuisances, and all foolish enough to be paying attention* "Hmmm..that should help this place become a little clearer" *tosses a photo of a cookie into the general area of the angels, and looks away. Secrets looks back and sees piles of cookies lying on the ground* "Hmp, Secrets smirked as he looked back. I wonder if all others figured out that we defined reality so that the image of a cookie in itself would be a cookie. What other reason could they think of for us using pictures of cookies." *Secrets looked around at @Darkness Ascendant, @Master Elodin, @frost, @kenod, @Captains Domon, and @Master Elodin, the doctor and the TARDIS, as well as all the other rubbish around him.* *Secrets gasps as a spike is driven through him, and then his being destroyed, by himself* "Time manipulation and ontological powers are so fun, thought the Secrets that had jumped back in time a few seconds to kill himself" "So, they're bringing in beings from this, Doctor Who's Universe? Maybe I should bring in some" *Secrets waves his hands and a thousand cybermen step forth. Hundreds of thousands of hemalurgic bunnies run towards the cybermen, and spike them* "Better, Secrets Grinned" *Secrets rips apart the cybermen through allomantic homemade tidal forces* "Alright, get moving you rodents, Secrets Shouted!" *The hemalurgic bunnies proceed to assemble an Aon Rao out of the spikes and the destroyed corpses of the cybermen, and Secrets throws the spike of himself towards the center, then melts it to a single dot in the center of the Aon* "That hit the spot, Secrets thought as the investiture began" "It always feels so good to have some recently gained investiture on hand... this should probably be enough killing and investiture to do this." *Secrets smiles as, stretching far into space, the Worldspire appears* "This should be an interesting *ahem* culinary experiment, Secrets quietly said to himself" *Secrets continues to smile as the Worldspire spikes all who are still left alive, and pleasures in the screams of all present* *Secrets takes a merry stroll as he walks off into nothingness, the Worldspire trailing behind*

Misinformation?!? How dare you corrupt a (relative) newcomer with such tainted misguided ideas. For one, the Dark Alley does not think itself creepy, as with of our hemalurgic testing and constructs baking, we should be downright horrifying. And the Oregoners are more properly a group of people who do some Reckoners (not Rithmatist) RP. People wanted to do a Reckoner's RP, and since according to what is in the books, it ends up being pretty much obliterated. Since nobody wanted to have to bring in things from the book, any more than the fact that there are epics and its set in that universe, they chose Oregon as the place for the RP, as it all will get destroyed anyways. More precisely, they have several cities/towns each with their own thread in which most of the actual RP occurs. People just write up a lot of stuff in there, using both regular people and Epics. ... EDIT: Just realized as I had posted that there was another page with post already on it about this... Welp I got double ninja-ed... Anyways @Firerust the Terris Gyorn There are plenty of places that can tell you more about this if need be.
