  1. Following Tress, we have established terminology for two types of bond in the Cosmere:

    1. Nahel Bond: Where there is an exchange in the Cognitive Realm
    2. Luhel Bond: Where there is an exchange in the Physical Realm

Following Realmatic Theory, it would be likely that there is a third bond formed across the Spiritual Realm, though we have yet to get the terminology for that or see what that looks like...or have we?

I suspect the Aviar bond is a type of Spiritual Bond as:

    • There is no Physical exchange between the Aviar and their partner
    • The Aviar and partner both exist in the Physical Realm entirely (although one could argue that the bond increases the intelligence of the Aviar)

Hence we know there is some kind of bond between the Aviar and their partner, yet not one that seems to fit within the structure we have seen so far. I suspect it may be an example of a Spiritual Connection causing the yet unseen third type of bond, but I am willing to hear any arguments against this theory!

Agreed with all your points about how capable Moash is as an assassin. But near the end it was mentioned that some Heavenly Ones found Moash and took him away, presumably safely back into Odium's territory.

I don't think the title implies an assassin, despite Moash's bloody initiation.  How many people has Moash killed?  4?  Jasnah's killed more than that.  And more to the point, Moash's new MO seems to be psychological - getting in your opponent's head, pushing them to give up WITHOUT a fight.  That's got more of a "He Who Quiets" vibe to me for sure.  Not that murder is frowned upon or anything.

Just want to weigh in on this. Being an assassin isn't about quantity, but quality of the kill. Moash has been shown to be entrusted towards important targets:

    1. Elhokar
    2. Jezrien
    3. Navani (With a Kaladin side-mission)

Sure, Jasnah has killed more random mooks, but Moash is the one that Rayse sent to do these high priority missions.

  4. I think the Unmade are related to why the Spren betrayed the Singers.

Given also that we know Ba-Ado-Mishram was heavily Connected to all of Roshar and her sealing was a big issue for spren and singers alike, my pet theory is she was the spren of Roshar (the continent or the planet). Given that Bondsmith Spren seem to represent big features of the world, I initially thought the Sibling would end up being the Roshar-spren, but if BAM is that deeply Connected, it makes sense why her sealing had so much influence on things.

  5. So WoB has mentioned that Microkinesis (the movement of small objects) was a form of magic present on Yolen. Khriss refers to it in the same Ars Arcanum:

    Quote

What I initially dismissed as an inferior form of microkinesis is, indeed, much more focused and—in some ways—more remarkable.

She said this regarding Stoneshaping, so I assume she means that this is more dangerous than Stoneshaping, which I can see for obvious reasons.

  6. One thing to mention against the case of 'He Who Quiets'

    Quote

Hesitant, Moash took the sphere that Khen offered. “What was that she said? Vyre?” She had said it in a way that rhymed with “fire.” “It’s one of their names,” Khen said. “I’ve been told it means He Who Quiets.”

This quote from Oathbringer indicates that Vyre MEANS 'He Who Quiets' and it does not behave as a title. So I doubt this is the correct option for El.

Because of the clinking, I think it was probably something metallic or glass. Straight-up money (coins, spheres) doesn't really seem sufficient, obviously. I also don't know if Raboniel's voice being devoid of the rhythms is relevant to some property of the payment or is just a result of her emotions.

Could it be this from the Part 3 Epigraphs from Raboniel?

The sand originated offworld. It is only one of such amazing wonders that come from other lands—I have recently obtained a chain from the lands of the dead, said to be able to anchor a person through Cognitive anomalies. I fail to see what use it could be to me, as I am unable to leave the Rosharan system. But it is a priceless object nonetheless.

EDIT: Oops wait I just saw it's been mentioned above, never mind.

  8. If we compare to Scadrial, where there were 2 shards causing 3 separate magic systems, I think realistically there will be 3 different sets of magic ; Honor + Cultivation = Surgebinding, Honor + Odium = Voidbinding and Cultivation + Odium = Something.

We haven't seen any individual magic systems yet so I assume that each Shard lacks an inidividual magic system, although I think a magic system comprised of all 3 is possible.

In addition, I think the Old Magic is something very different and is done by work of the Nightwatcher only (this may relate to Ashyn) and not a standardised magic system.

  9. I do think Taravangian says that because he doesn't want to tell Wit. We're not sure about the rules of being a Shard but I think Taravangian considering himself Odium is far more likely for him to do than deny that he was Rayse or something.

Personally though, I do think Odium's intent has changed somewhat to get closer to Passion but we'll have to wait till Book 5 for any confirmation on that.

I think they specified it was to do with Navani and her Light.

He couldn’t blink. He didn’t seem to have eyelids anymore. He couldn’t see either—his vision had been burned away.

I'm pretty sure this is why Vyre was blinded.

  11. I had an interesting thought. When Odium was negotiating with Taravangian at the end of Oathbringer he says

    Quote

“Our word is the contract. I am not some spren of Honor, who seeks to obey only the strictest letter of a promise. If you have an agreement from me, I will keep it in spirit, not merely in word.”

However the first thing Taravangian thinks about is finding loopholes in the contract with Dalinar. Maybe this was a quirk of Rayse's own character as opposed to the nature of Shardic contracts or the Shard's Intent.

  12. I think it's far more likely that the title was Voice of Lights. It's a gender neutral title and Raboniel thinks El would be interested in some of Navani's work.

In addition it is made clear he is a scholar, rather than an assassin like the title 'He who Quiets' implies.

  13. I don't think the curse applies simply because he appeared incredibly stupid and Passionate on the day he Ascended, but immediately after Ascension he seemed competent if not even smart. I think as a Shard he overrides any previous changes and perhaps this TaravOdium has the true intelligence and Passion of the original, and Cultivation's curse just amplified his Passion enough that he could gain connection to the Shard only.

  14. We have a tonne of Death Rattles from the Epigraphs of Way of Kings, and a lot of them have come to pass already. Some of them however, have not, and I suspect most of them will occur in Book 5, while maybe one or two are saved for Book 10.

So the night will reign, for the choice of honor is life...

I think these two relate to the contest of champions proposed. My theory is that Taravangian forces a child to 'willingly' be his champion and forces a forfeit or draw from Dalinar, as it is not honourable to murder a child no matter the circumstance. I think this is the loophole that Taravangian has seen.

I think this Death Rattle links to that as well.

Light grows so distant. The storm never stops. I am broken, and all around me have died. I weep for the end of all things. He has won. Oh, he has beaten us.

We also have a few Death Rattles we still haven't seen yet.

A man stood on a cliffside and watched his homeland fall into dust. The waters surged beneath, so far beneath. And he heard a child crying. They were his own tears.

The second one here I had assumed before to be Taravangian watching Kharbranth fall, but now it's unlikely, or alternatively it could still be him depending on how Book 5 goes. It could also be someone else but I have no idea whom, I personally feel this could be one reserved for the second half of the series.

There are a few Death Rattles related to the Unmade which we haven't seen yet.

He watches! The Black piper in the night. He holds us in his palm... playing a tune that no man can hear!

Let me no longer hurt! Let me no longer weep! Dai-gonarthis! The Black Fisher holds my sorrow and consumes it!

    Quote

Re-Shephir, the Midnight Mother, giving birth to abominations with her essence so dark, so terrible, so consuming. She is here! She watches me die!

I don't know what part these play, but I do think at least one of the Unmade has some influence on Ishar's madness, as it seems very different from Nale, Jezrien, Kalak, Shallash and Taln and how their madness has been expressed so far.

The Heralds actually generate new bodies out of Investiture, which is what I suspect Kell did once he had a tie to the physical realm. He’s like a Spren, and they all seem to be able to that once the tie is strong enough.

I disagree with Kelsier only because of Hemalurgy. He has a spike through one eye and I think by the nature of Hemalurgy it needs something to be spiked to.

I doubt it would be anything to do with Investiture because that would suggest some link with Harmony, which is unlikely since Harmony doesn't seem to have much idea what he's up to now.

  16. Quote

From what we’ve seen the Heralds are the closest CSs to Kell. Threnodite Shades are nearly mindless and Returned don’t seem to work by the exact rules as everyone else.

    I think he's actually different.

The Heralds and Returned are Cognitive Shadows attached back to their original bodies, much like Szeth but I guess they need more Investiture.

Unlike them, we know Kelsier can't be in his original body, he might be in a mistwraith/kandra or someone else's body but he can't be attached back to his original body since that's no longer in tact.

idk I just kinda want to know if anyone else has other theories on this

We know that Wax and Wayne is set between Stormlight 5 and 6, and given Harmony is already planning for this I am pretty sure it is the beginning of him grooming Wax into being his sword, which he does in BoM.

  18. I agree actually I think I'd missed that @Beltway2A, it makes way more sense.

Regarding the other one I think they are the same person as Lift mentions, but it is also intriguing he has an Aviar in the first place, maybe one that could be a threat to Ghostbloods given they wanted it dead and not captured.
