  1. @RShara I definitely see what you are saying here, but there is this: Also, I would like to point out that in most books or movies it is not the first person they meet, it is the first person that stands out to the main character. Sometimes that is the first person they meet, sometimes it is not. As a general trend, though, in most fiction, the two line up perfectly, and this is something that I have been frustrated about before as well.
  2. Biblioden was impersonating a real person though. He would have taken the real Dif's name, for the disguise.
  3. "Wow," Jeirid says. "it was Awkward enough to create a period of lengthened silence. Doesn't that give me an awkward moment award or something?"
  4. @Mistrunner Jeirid walks over and picks up a trumpet. He then proceeds to play all of the scales on the circle of fifths, starting with concert B flat (which is c on a trumpet) and plays clockwise all the way around the circle, playing all twelve scales in under 48 seconds. Then, having forgotten to breathe, he falls over on the trumpet. "My instrument!!!! Also, it appears I am bleeding. My instrument!!!" @WizzyLizzy After finally getting over his trumpet breaking (mostly), Jeirid responds to Lizzy's question. "I believe it has something to do with some sort of Awkward magnet, causing Awkward people to be drawn here." he says. "They end up here whether or not they were originally intending to be here. Take me for example. I was on my way to a Rubik's cube convention when I heard about the guild. The next thing I knew I was walking through the door to enter the keep. I wrote a book about this. I unofficially name the thing that attracts awkwardness 'The Call of Awkward'." Then, realizing the lateness of his response, he says "sorry, that was Awkward, wasn't it."
  5. @Amanuensis, Are we allowed to do that? Because, I have access to both docs, and could post links, but I thought it would be against the rules.
  6. I was at scout camp for the last week, and came back to find this. And I mean, wow. I thought Lopen would be dead before I left. Or that Meta would be lynched. It was a fun game, though. I needed to vote as well, and I was cleaning the house, so I completely spaced it. I'm still sorry, @Haelbarde.
  7. First off, for Lift specifically, if you combine her ability and Bendalloy compounding, she would have an infinite source of stormlight. @feldi The acceleration due to gravity is constant. that would be 9.8 meters/second/second, or 9.8 m/s square. The Force is as he said, is mass*acceleration. The acceleration, wouldn't change, but the force would get larger. it would still move at the same speed, but it's like the difference between getting hit with a 1 lb hammer accelerating at a rate of 5 mi/h square versus getting hit with a 100 lb hammer at 5 mi/h square. One would take more strength to lift (draining more stormlight as oversleep said), but it packs a heavier punch when moving at the same speed.
  8. "Well, actually yes. And also the infinitely awkward power of awkwardness, so basically, anything that can be linked to awkwardness."
  9. Ouch. that is expensive wifi. @Master Elodin Here is a player list player list Also while I am here... Quick links @Gamma Fiend After the game is over, could you put the quick links at the beginning of the whole game thread?
  10. "We should leave it up to mistrunner. There are so many choices..." Jeirid expression changes and he starts talking more excitedly " we could be a category, class, grouping, set, lot batch, type, sort, kind, variety, family, crowd, party, body, band, company, gathering, congregation, assembly, collection, cluster, flock, pack, troop, gang, bunch, pile, knot, mass, clump, faction, division, selection, clique, coterie, circle, set ring, camp plot, caucus, cabal, association, club, society, league, or guild. Or we could be a-" he cut off abruptly as a hand into over his mouth. "Sorry about that," he said as his normal self. "There's just no telling how many personalities I have bouncing around in here. I should do some more research," he muttered to himself, pulling out several more charts and books, with a bunch of note pages laying around everywhere, dominating most of the keep table.
  11. "Welcome to the... hmm. What exactly are we?" Says Jeirid absently, still buried in research. "'Club' seems like too much of an u-" he cut off abruptly. "An u-... An unawkward-" he paused to shudder "term."
  12. He stopped laughing abruptly. "I... I... I can't remember," he said, as his normal quiet self. "Hmm. Madness. And apparently multiple personality disorder. I shall have to research this." He then, seemingly faster than one could blink, hurried over to the bookshelf, and pulled out a book that said Diseases That may not Exist on the cover and sat down to read with an almost inaudible sigh.
  13. Suddenly, Jeirid stumbles in. "I found it!" He giggled madly. "Now our collection can be complete!"
  14. Votes: Lynch vote: Rubiks(1):Bugsy Joe(4): Meta, Maill, stink, lopen Mayoral vote: Meta(2): meta, Lopen maill(1):maill
  15. Gamma said it ended at 4. If not, I would vote, but it's too late. anything after 4:00 PM EST (almost two hours ago) won't be counted. That is why gamma posted what he did that he couldn't close the thread. @Gamma Fiend, out of curiosity, why are you being so early with your deadline? I know that I am not the only one who missed it. Is it just easier?
  16. Well, so far, if I remember correctly, if he is telling the truth, that would mean that we have three viewers. I personally don't know, but I think that that is a reasonable number for viewers. I could be wrong about the claims, though. I will have to go check aman's table. There is a chance, but his data seems to align with reality. If he is not a viewer, and is trying to save himself, he has to either be a good guess, good info, or all of the people he "scanned" were already confirmed. I don't think it is unreasonable either way. Personally, I would say that he would roleclaim the truth if he is villager. It could be a truth or a lie otherwise, but there is no reason for him to lie if he is a villager alignment (unless he is pulling a troll, or something). Also on a side note, I think that everyone has good evidence backing them that they could be villager, so I don't think that I will vote for anyone in tonight's vote.
  17. So what you are saying is that something non-sanderson is affecting our sanderson elimination game in a not necessarily good or bad way, but that will end up being one or the other? Cool. This should be... uh, beautiful and articulate.
  18. @Amanuensis, these are my comebacks, listed in order of bullet points. 1. On D1, the first time I logged on, there were like 5-8 pages. I had to go and read through for 25-30 minutes, and by that time, there were several more pages. I hadn't logged on in the first 24 hours, because I was busy with family visiting that I only get to see once every year. I thought it wasn't a big deal. sara/sart asked me about D1 lynches in her first post, and I responded. It was a bit late, but I still felt obligated to respond. 2. The first time I had read through, sheep had seemed the most suspicious from his two (or so) posts. It was partially a poke vote, but the more he posted, the more suspicious he seemed. That stopped after a while, and I wasn't really suspicious of anyone else. Then sara turned out to be a forsaken. It totally proved that my first run through judgements were incredibly wrong as I really had no suspicions of sara (I still think that the reasons for voting for her were at least partially wrong, but I’m glad that she was lynched). I went back, and realized that I was really jumping the gun being really new to this play type and style. My suspicions of sheep went in the trash, and I looked really suspicious, as several people pointed out (including you right now). I can’t blame you for this one. 3. If Orlok had voted for anyone without reason, I would have asked why (or if anyone else had, for that matter). He basically said he was just voting for her because everyone else was. I personally would always ask someone why they are going with the flow. That is just who I am. 4. Uhh, at this point in the game, I thought that my vote (unless drastic changes happened) would seal his fate. I hate to have someone upset with me. That is also a personality thing. I am not too outgoing in fact, I am introverted, and usually if someone hates you or holds a grudge, it can cause a scene, and other problems. I know there are people who don’t really necessarily like me, but I hate to have someone outright hate me. 5. For this one, as stated above, I am introverted. I subconsciously try to avoid stuff that draws attention to me, both good and bad. My opinion is generally not more respected, as I am new to this, and I am afraid that if I post something to outgoing that someone will see what I said and think that the people I said were suspicious to me would make me a possible darkfriend in their eyes. It has happened on numerous occasions during this game alone. It would also draw attention to me. What I was trying to do was come up with really solid evidence that people I found suspicious really did look suspicious so that people didn’t grow suspicious of me based off of my suspicions. I gave up on this last night in the game cycle, because it takes way too long, and most of the time my conclusion was either indecisive, or wrong. At this point, I am just trying to get a better feel of the game, and I don’t really care if I die or not/ win or not. I would like to survive my first game at least, but with everyone trying to kill me, I think I will settle with surviving as long as possible. 6. As you stated, lynching an aiel blooded would tell us virtually nothing (except that a person is not fain or forsaken if there is only one role per person). I was looking for info, didn’t want to die at the time, and knew it would be a waste of a lynch, unless someone tried to kill me that night (which someone did if I remember correctly that this was the last day cycle), when I would die. If you were put in the situation (assuming you are telling the truth as an aiel blooded) would you let them lynch you (At the time I thought it was a tie because I thought it had been counted correctly)? Personally, I think the only solid thing making you look suspicious right now is what elodin just said (while I was typing this) that you are assuming the number of corruptions fain has. I also get the feeling that you seem to know too much (but this could just be me, or that you have connections with foretellers, or whatever they are called). Edit: comebacks is really not the right word.
  19. You know, if it says that there are two recently browsing members and my name is the only one listed, does that mean that there is an admin watching, or does it always do that? Just barely it said three viewers and Me, Jaime, and elb. sometimes it adds one on (this is not the first time I've seen it) and others it doesn't. does anyone know why, or should I ask the programmers?
