  1. No Wob confirming or refuting as far as I know, but it probably was just an accidental reuse of a name. Heck, allomaner jak isn't technically even a real person, he's a fictional character within a fictional newpaper read by fictional people in a fictional universe.........
  2. - when someone takes the last bag of popcorn and leaves the box in the pantry - when that someone then reads my books with greasy fingers. Only I get to do that! - the entire concept of memes..... not so much of a peeve as much as an incessant loathing. Rule number 1 of jokes, don't say the same joke twice!
  3. Lordran, because why not? Oh, wait, I can think of one good reason........
  4. Allomancer Jak in mistborn era 2 Earless Jak from bridge 4
  5. Obligatory Welcome Post! on another note, how exactly are cookies the ideal delivery method for a hemalurgic spike? Sure, it'll catch your prey off-guard, but how will they not notice a metal spike when they are eating? And what if they are a horneater? They'd just bite right through it.....
  6. I noticed this as well! I was thinking the same thing, but didn't feel there was enough evidence to prove anything
  7. I've seen it mentioned everywhere, so I gotta ask, what is this moon scepter thingy?
  8. time doesn't stop outside the bubble, merely slow drastically, so I don't think the bullet would be torn apart. Provided I'm wrong however, how would you explain the bullets veering off course wildly?
  9. you could just rip out there spike and stick it in yourself. but what happens if you spike a spike?
  10. It's simple physics! when the bullet leaves the bubble, the part of the bullet outside of the bubble is traveling at a slower/faster rate than the part inside, causing it to move accordingly. Here is a visual! http://www.acs.psu.edu/drussell/Demos/refract/refract.html
  11. Okay, okay....... you got me. I slept through hemalurgy class. To be fair though, all they were talking about before I drifted off was something about cookies.
  12. I didn't think it was Odium either, but until I have more information I don't want to rule it out.......
  13. in one WoB, he states that one shard is nomadic, and has no planet. Don't know if its Odium (because odium didn't invest in the early days) or what
  14. refresh my memory, what is ettmetal? the stuff used in the south to power ships or the metal associated with trell (the mysterious metal used on the kandra wax was in love with). unlikely if its the latter, as harmony (ruin + preservation) couldn't influence it. the former seems like francium, potassium, sodium, one of those metals
  15. Granted, you're curse is that you forgot to ask for a boon . I want to see a radiant fight a mistborn
  16. Ok, you're Steris. but yeah, a quick google search lets you know what you're buying.
  17. well, as I said, that's not exactly how hemalurgy works, but I liked the idea of it. Besides, death by unsheathing excluded, having a sword in your chest generate its own set of problems already. there are a couple workarounds, like having the sword be a few inches to the right, or having him resheath it before it expires (heart wounds are not instantly fatal, what kills you is the bleeding out + no oxygen flow. alternatively, it could work something like this
  18. As someone who plays to many games, and has even built one or two, this sounds like fun Also, in my favorite game, dark souls, you have the exact opposite problem with invisible doors. It turns into, "Oh god, there are HOW MANY enemies in that room!!? Why can't I just skip it......" but yeah, sounds like a lot of fun, just need to get friends to play with me.....
  19. I just had an interesting one. Not necessarily a misting, but what about a guy who has a hemalurgic sword impaled through his heart that he can pull out and use to steal the powers of whoever he kills last. I know that's not quite how hemalurgy works (specific metals steal a specific power), but you could probably get away with saying the sword has every metal in a row, with the softer metals in the middle so it doesn't warp as easily.
  20. Now, I have no experience in tabletop games or D&D-esk stuff, heck, I've no idea what you even call it. However, the concept has always interested me, and I wanted to ask if it was fun. Probably akin to asking a someone, "what is a maths?" I'm sure, but if you could describe what it's like, that'd be awesome.
  21. That would be a dark turn of events...... you got my upvote!
  22. Okay, as long as you learn your lesson here and don't read Mistborn or stormlight out of order, I'll call off the iron inquisition for now.
  23. I believe so to, but we don't really know what their culture has done to affect technological progression. EX: the church in europe stamping down on scientists
