  1. That's hilarious
  2. a stick......... wait............... no, because then he couldn't change back, as sticks are eternally unchanging
  3. if you've already got the plateau covered in a highly flameable substance why don't you just throw a torch onto it, the liquid won't burn away instantly, and will still make them slip as they attempt to flee the flames (regardless of whether or not the fire can hurt them, all things fear fire)
  4. don't forget the guys in mistborn era 2 book two only had one shard........ Bands spoilers
  5. no, its like this the stick has transcended our mundane struggles, and cannot change. For it to be a knight radiant would be for it to change, which is impossible. Once, a shortsighted fool attempted to fashion the stick into a great weapon, but he failed. The end. Now, one may be able to use the stick as a weapon, for a club is nothing but another word for a stick. If this would happen, it would rank somewhere around here: - stick - horneater teeth - honorblade - active shardblade - dead shardblade - chull dung (it has many applications) - spear - cardboard cutout of a sword
  6. I would love to know the size and shape of the gear spearmen use on Roshar. - How long are their spears? What shape are the heads? Are they double ended? - what are the shapes of their shields? Are they the massive square shields used by roman legionaries, the large circular shields used by greek hoplites, or more akin to the diamond shaped shields of the middle ages? Also, wood or metal? - what does spearmen armor look like? All I know is they have a steel 'cap', but what does that look like? A cap could be anything. Side note, do spearmen even wear body armor? Notes: I believe that the Half-shards, shields made to block shardblades, are comprised of aluminum (wrong, but aluminum probably could still block a shardblade) I suspect that pre-soulcasting warfare was incredibly slow, with supply routes and troop movements being hampered by regular highstorms and an oversaturated ground. We know that warhammers are used by platebearers, but it is unknown if blunt weapons like a mace, hammer, or flail are used by lighteyes or darkeyes. If I was directing the war on the shattered plains, I'd place caltrops upon neutral plateaus, because that would definately be an unpleasant suprise for the parshendi. The horneater peaks will likely experience some battles in the future, as it contains one of those pools you use to worldhop due to the.... wet nature of Roshar, gunpowder and other pyrotechnics will likely not be invented for some time a great way to hold off a shin army would be to soulcast a large swath of ground to stone
  7. another opportunity to make a spike pun, but we already know where that road leads so I think I'll pass this time.
  8. I'd love a book following a seeker misting who is some sort of bounty hunter or constable, because I feel like bronze is an underused power that actually has a lot of useful applications
  9. That's a uhh...... very creative use for soulcasting , but unfortunately I have sworn off of any sweets offered to me on this forums..... y'never know when someones trying to put a spike in ya........ or worse yet sneak some bloody spinach into my desserts (What kinda sadist does that!?!?)
  10. You assume that you could change the stick, but let me tell you something, ash might rain from the sky, storms might rage (in both directions), , giant earthquakes might destroy cities accidentally causing what is essentially the undead curse from dark souls...., ghosts may stop us from having midnight glowstick rave parties, and somehow every beggar may actually be Hoid, but that stick will not change!
  11. DON'T EAT THE CO- I'm to late........
  12. Well, with Wayne's true motive revealed, let's just say this won't be the last time something of yours is spiked..... too creepy sounding Was it Wayne who spiked your drink? wow that sucked umm, I think Wayne forgot what spiking a drink entailed Geez, pattern can make better jokes than that..... I give up nobody likes a quitter Insert pun about spiking a drink and spiking a rib here I swear I'm funny.......
  13. My apologies, allow me to make reparations by giving you this little thread to follow. Wayne wants to get all of Elendel drunk, this we know, but it is obvious that his ultimate goal is to inebriate the entire cosmere Wayne is a resident of Scadrial, home to hemalurgy Hemalurgy can be used to steal to other magic systems, namely Roshar's surgebinding The nature of a person's Surgebinding depends on the spren he bonds to. Sudspren, spren that revolve around alcohol, have been seen by the spren collecter guy (forgot his name, axis or something) Now, what could Wayne do with a nahel bond to a sudspren?
  14. Well, judging by the amount of cookies they dish out, the Girl scouts are masters of hemalurgy, so it would likely be named after them
  15. It's alright, I believe he was one of Hoid's beggars, and therefore does not count! HA! Your mere metal spikes are no match for my emergency Horneater dentures!
  16. Might be Hoid in a wig.....
  17. Indeed, I'm really hoping for a 3v3 match between radiants and mistborn, that would be a bloodbath
  18. Would a seeker (bronze) be able to detect someone, say, holding stormlight? ANSWERED (kinda) - http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/45901-shadows-of-self-byu-midnight-signing/#entry336901 stumbled across it upon my bizarre trek through the internet Would a smoker be able to hide said person? would nicrosil or chromium even be compatable with something like stormlight? How would it react to an elantrian? Could I destroy(or supercharge) shardblades or spren with these metals? in usage toward another magic system, how does chromium vary from aluminum? Could Soothing be counteracted by the restless state someone enters when holding stormlight? oh, and my personal favorite: If I somehow managed to swallow a shardblade.... or a piece of shardplate (probably easier) and I was a mistborn, could I burn it? If so, would that enable me to use the powers of a radiant corresponding to the type of radiant the sword belonged to? side note: why is it that shardplate can break but not a shardblade?
  19. The beggars feast in Alethkar must have been a strange affair. Starting to see why it was cancelled..... all those Hoids in one room.....
  20. This is actually the second post I believe, but I figured what the heck, might as well do one of these! Gotta get my forum rank up somehow I have a few questions for some helpful souls on the forums - What is Brandon Sanderson? No mere human can write books that fast... - Are there actually any beggars in the cosmere who aren't Hoid? I can't find one..... - what order do the cosmere books occur in? - will we ever see some fights between between characters with different magic systems?
  21. It's really nice, there is nothing I hate more than have villain x be unbeatable because villain x is being reserved for the final battle. The reason calamities ending was disappointing....... truth is, I've already forgotten the ending, but i remember thinking I skipped a chapter.
  22. So, I noticed one of the members of Ghostbloods wore a mask, and when questioned about it by Shallan, she stated she wondered why people here (either meaning Alethkar or Roshar) went about so brazenly without masks. In the newest Mistborn book, we are introduced to a civilization that always wears masks, and said something similar about the people of Elendel not wearing masks. Also, this is my first post, so hi!
